Fallout is such a basic bitch setting, why does it matter so much when anyone can just create his own post apocalyptic wasteland with raiders and mutants?

Avellone is like a loser in a dead end job wagie uniform around his 40's hanging out at local highschool parties because "back in the day" he used to be with the the popular kids and he just cant let go of that since in his adult life he hasnt been relevant for decades and is mostly just mentioned by other people living in the past discussing the same games over and over again as they just released yesterday without noticing that the generation that was born on the games release are now as old as they where back then.
