How do I get past this retarded gate in the foundry? the guard keeps saying I need the permission from one of the "higher-ups" but neither Keldor or Sandoz will give me the dialogue option (I'm one of the godsmen already). I also got Alissa's necklace after I asked her how to get through said door but the item's not in my inventory (loading a previous save doesn't do shit so I guess it's not a bug). I'm playing the enhanced version by the way.

Head to the opposite end of the room and go through the guarded door. it's not locked. That's where you'll see the rest of the faction. One guy in a hallway in the back will give you directions on something that was promised to you. Once you finish that little side quest, you go through that door and get an albeit mediocre cutscene that doesn't really explain much.
I'd still recommend doing it, but it's ultimately optional.

The thing that always kills open-ended "free to do what you want" RPGs for me is when I hit a roadblock where the most logical way to proceed is for my character to ask a simple question that the game does not allow me to do for whatever reason. If you arent going to railroad me then you have to account for the normal ways a person would solve a problem because now im playing a puzzle game.

PS:T is a lot worse in this respect because as much as the Nameless one "Updated my journal" most of the time, key information on where to go isn't written in that quest's section, so you have to just scroll back through hundreds of entries hoping you find the one you're looking for, remember it on your own, keep a real life journal, or look up a walkthrough.
I'm not even fully through, and I keep finding points where I just go "alright, I'm out of ideas. What the fuck do I do?"
only to find that the solution is to talk to one random NPC who now has a new dialogue option that he didn't before. Sometimes hidden behind a few other options so you have to basically make the rounds of an entire town exhausting everyone's dialogue over and over again until you find something that's different. (Fuck that Siege Tower, and Fuck that Dodecahedron)
or just look up a walkthrough and be done with it.
