What are your favourite comfy RPGs? The sort of games where you can immerse yourself into the world doing menial chores and roleplaying?
I've been looking for more games that do this. Right now, I've restarted Dragon's Dogma 2 and have been playing it slow, walking around towns, taking paths I would IRL if I were a cautious adventurer. Also, I've recently played a Skyrim modpack where I spent most of my time chopping wood, fishing and hunting for a living around Riverwood. Probably one of the comfiest experiences I've had playing a game.
Do you have any recommendations? I really liked the first Risen, even CP77 and RDR2. While I love the Gothic games, they are too jank to to feel comfy to me due to the controls. I've also played the first KCD and the first half was very comfy.
Pic unrelated since I just discovered that all my comfy DD2 gameplay screenshots are compressed and very low res. Sucks.p

I shall look into them, thanks. Although I prefer IRL fishing.

They were comfy in another sense. Not the immersive type of comfy, more so the world felt warm.

Would you recommend the latest Rune Factory? I've played all except for that.

Done.
Done and done. Enderal is extremely comfy to explore or to just walk around town in.
Never heard of these. They don't look comfy but I'll play them since it looks cool.
Wouldn't say CDDA is comfy but it's a fantastic game that basically has everything the apocalypse survival fans want but it's too arcane for them.

Weird rec but OP maybe try Monster Hunter 2 or Freedom Unite. They are more of a job simulator than the modern action game versions and involve a lot of just, going and tending your farm, going into the mountains to get new herbs, going fishing while waiting for the season to change, that kind of thing. They both do it for me at least.
Etrian Odyssey series (4 especially) kind of have this for me too. The delving into the dungeon is so repetitive since you keep returning to certain areas for supplies, clearing new paths, gathering materials from certain monsters, etc that it feels very "chore-like".

The gameplay might not be exactly what you're looking for (it's a Diablo-like), but I think Sacred has a very comfy world. It's very open-ended, too, so you can wander around at your own pace.
You might also like Two Worlds.
You mentioned you played the first Risen, but did you play the sequels? They're also quite good for tropical comfiness.
