The siege towers do not work in this game, is there any way I can fix this? My soldiers pile up in it but never get on the walls.

Trust me just wait. They take a while to get organized at the bottom too. It should only take a few hours before the tower connects to the wall and only another hour for the ramp to come down. This is meant to simulate the unexpected challenges of scaling walls that size.

stop clicking on them and let them get to the top of the tower. they start massing there and then the bridge comes down. be patient. they'll come out
there is a way to double click to speed up this process but it sounds like you need to master the basics first

Occasionally models get stuck and a unit cannot act until the stuck models are killed. But I doubt that happens with siege towers which generally are just a waiting game and if you kept the game playing whilst you made the thread it would have happened before you posted the thread.
Unless this is some new bug the remaster added.

Lower your unit size to Large/Normal or lower. The game wasn't really balanced for the largest unit size, even though it's there as an option.

Technically yes. On Ultra/Huge unit size units tend to get stuck, this happens in the original as well but since the remaster has a new even larger unit size it can make the problem worse if you're using it.

This actually solves a lot of commonly-cited issues people have with Rome 1 and Med 2.

The remaster is starting to grow on me. I despise the campaign UI but I do see where they're coming from on a lot of things. It just feels like they tried to fix things that didn't need to be fixed and had an accountant who doesn't play games try to implement his ideas. With all the options to use old settings it's baffling why they didn't think this one would need to be one of them. I also don't like how they added a voice to diplomacy for some reason and stopped having important messages automatically pop up, the notification boxes falling on the side was good just leave it.
Apart from that though I like that it's more stable, uses modern controls, some of the graphics I prefer (Italy looks really saturated but Germania looks fine), and soldiers ethnicity matching the area they're recruited in is a really nice touch. I like some of the balancing adjustments, but for some reason the game always lags when a gate gets smashed or a general dies.
Still, I'm going to keep playing it

The remaster UI is designed that way because a mobile game porting company made it. I'm betting they just used the same "improvements" they were putting into their earlier mobile ports of TW. It can't just be toggled on or off because it's not just some textures and modifiers, they made serious changes to the original code to give you that shit UI.

> Last night, the crying of the fanboys kept me awake...and I had a terrible vision. I saw the fall of our franchise: low budget remasters under a harsh sun... Historical Total War, gone! Why would CA send such a vision? They are not cruel; they have watched over us. We have had victories aplenty in game awards. Our community sail to all corners of the forums. Yet even now, I fear. I cannot help it. We are the envy of mobile gamers. They tell terrible lies about us. They do not understand, so they lie. But the Warhammer fanboys, they are the masters of falsehood. New Historical Total War will come, I am sure of it. So. I will have no more false visions...and I think the fanboys will be quiet tonight.

Is that old bug where a single member of your sapping team just dies because he stands under the the thing as it collapses when they all leave at the end still around? Used to really trigger my low casualties autism as a kid.

Rome2 is where modern TW solidified, but Shogun2 is also playable.
Empire too jank and buggy to be fun, wasn't even in it's own time. R1/M2 are extreme nostalgia games that aged poorly. S1/M1 are meme games, nobody genuinely plays it.
