No, literally not. Nobody ever seriously attempted to imitate EAW despite its clear and enduring success so we're all stuck just stuck playing mods of this 20 year old game.

I too like the space battle more.
The land combat feels more of a grind even though you can cycle your units easier than ships in space because you're stuck passively fighting constant attacks.
I recommend getting a large amount of ground troops with anti-vehicle supports, endure the first assault in your landing zone and then push. (Get some AAA in reserve in case of flyers but those are pretty rare.)
