She at least went to the trouble of setting up an ARG and doing all that kayfabe about disappearing and wanting to show us her world.
Obviously she wanted some time off between the Minecraft marathon and the debut, to give her a chance to mentally recover, spend time with family and friends, to set up the new studio, and to make people forget the old model a bit.
Surely this was the plan, right?
A couple of weeks for Christmas and family time, a couple of weeks in Japan and visiting Layna, while the ARG drip fed people with clues.
The people who made the ARG must have been told by Filian how long the solve should take, and they would have put the right number of timegates in so that people felt like they were making steady progress.
So what changed?
Did the ARG people mess up?
Did she not pay them enough, or not give them enough advanced notice, so they didn't prepare enough steps?
Couldn't they have added new steps after the ARG started if people were making progress too quickly or if Filian decided she wanted to spend another couple of weeks seeing friends?
Something must have gone wrong, or at least she must have underestimated something.
Did she not realize how much she would enjoy not having to stream?
Has the pressure of being a streamer, or having to debut, finally caught up with her and she's got performance anxiety?
Did she get injured while on vacation or doing stunt work and now is waiting to heal?

That could be implemented without an OS so no need to worry about Windows updates. That's possible, I don't know how the projection tech would cost. If I remember correctly, she switched to a new tracking solution a while ago that uses multiple high quality cameras like you would in a professional studio. The cheapest price was around 10K for the installation, it could easily go to up to 200K for the best cameras. From there, I don't think it would cost too much to project the image into the real world rather than a virtual environment, but that's just speculation.

it's not really the cameras that are the issue in terms of price, they definitely add up for sure, but it's really the tracking itself that would be hell. just to explain how it would work, the AR wouldn't really be tracking the model onto her, it would be tracking her movements in the room/studio. essentially she would need to have the whole room tracked so she could interact with it properly without it looking like shit, and then her normal tracking that she currently uses would just be overlayed over her body with the new model and all. so she's basically using two tracking systems simultaneously. Also, to put into perspective how much these things really cost, the AR system she used in japan was a Intermediate AR system (which cost anywhere from $25k to $100k) and I think we all can admit it's not quality enough to be a regular stream setup (at least in my opinion). She would need a complex (or enterprise i think is what they're called professionally) system to have tracking that lives up to her current system, and those can cost anywhere between $100k and $500k (usually the cheaper ones still have shitty tracking quality which is why she'd probably end up spending closer to $200-$250k).
