That one I'm not sure about that. To me, it's more like she becomes less present as the manga continues.
The only change I see in her personality is (ironically) more apathy and forced normie conformity.

Yep. The college visits were pretty gay. The amount of people suddenly liking her after giving up on becoming popular was the biggest turning point.

And a shit ton of new characters I could give less of a fuck to even try remembering. Nemoto was the only new friend that made sense. They were both into the same types of hobbies and kind of quirky, but they also made her overly freaky for Tomoko like her other friends.

I stopped reading when there was no more English translated works and don't plan on reading anymore.

Now modern Watamote fans are trans, gay, or still coping like Nintendo fans.

What's sad is this is exactly what the author wanted to avoid. If you watched the OVA, you would know he didn't want his story to become yuri harem slop; called those fans "tards"... which means the duo currently hate their own fans.

The deadlines caught up and they probably stopped giving a fuck and turned their masterpiece into slop to keep paying the bills.

I do not know if it would be good for manga, but I would like to see more of orignal trio (MokoKomiYuu) instead of this yuri bullshit. I really liked their type of friendship and synergy, it was a REALISTIC friendship. and it was pretty funny too, judging from Tomomote and early volumes of Watamote
