Editing is quite simple really, most of the stuff you see here can be done with the standard installation of paint.net (Which I use)
Taking the image as example, I just cut her body out - using the curved line tool as reference on a separate layer. Then used the magic wand to add her hair to a separate layer as well. Changed their color using the RGB curve map. You can add drop shadows with effects>drop shadow. The background I made using the shape tool, with its fill set to filled diamonds.
As you can see, pretty basic stuff.
The thing I really have to learn is how to be cool and artistic and shit like these other guys are.

If I didn't have a wife i would use one of these, it's fucking pretty
