In Füssen, in the St. Mang cloister (now the town museum), it's the building right at the bottom of the frame here, with the courtyard!
>>
>>8122924
It's a great town, well worth a visit
Easy to reach from Munich using the trains, I might go back some day just for another 4 nights there, I think it'd work well as a getaway destination to put life on hold
Pretty much what I was already doing last time

Another of the castle's courtyard; I should make a thread if I'm gonna dump like this, but I'm still working on editing all my pictures (don't think I'm halfway through yet; I went to Oberammergau next, and it was just as picturesque; rarely took as many pictures in a single trip)
>>

This one is so cool anon!

I was just in Bavaria for a week Anon. Absolutely stunning. Did the mountain coaster in Oberammergau and it was amazing.
>>
>>8123085
Hell yeah. Very nice shot! I love it when clouds rise from the forests in autumn.
I ended up walking beck to Füssen in the gap behind the lake to the right of Hohenschwangau; glad to see that on your picture it doesn't look as flat as it does on maps; because it certainly didn't feel that way after a full day of exploring

I didn't do the alpine coaster but it sounded really cool, so maybe another time !

Currently editing the photos of Linderhof, but if you're feeling nostalgic I'm sure I'll post some Oberammergau here soon (only got the few from the evening I arrived yet)

Stunnin region though; it kept hitting me and still does

I love taking pictures and want to get an actual camera and not have to rely on my cell phone. Does anyone have experience with the Sony a6400? It comes up often in discussions about good starter mirrorless cameras.

I believe they're alpine choughs; apparently they're in my country too, they seem to just like high places
>>8123487
Very nice point of view
>>8123567
It should work; my opinion on starter cameras is that as long as they do all the things a camera should do, they'll serve you well
Never used one myself, first real camera was a Canon 700D, but it has about the same set of features (dials and settings wise) except yours would be more modern
get yourself zoom or a couple of fixed lenses like an 18 and a 35mm and you'll be good to go

My god, finally finished editing all the pictures I'd set aside from that Bayern trip
579 pictures over a bit more than a month; not too bad honestly, now that I'm averaging how many pictures I produced per week

It was hard to see the end coming while in the thick of it though; maybe it'll lift my mood to be editing older stuff and the few pictures i've taken around where i live these last couple months

or maybe it'll paint another layer onto the seasonal depression. Whatever, I'm going to Japan next year.

I thought the boats looked kinda like portugese fishing boats; so with the bay with the lush vegetation and the city along the coast on the other side, occam's razor did the rest

Honestly I had a moment where I asked myself "Japan?" when looking at the vegetation and the house on the coast opposite where you're standing

peaceful lake...
do you have a forest near by you?
>>
>>8128728
Some, lots of hunting around here. Not near as much as where I grew up. In Vermont most of the state is (was?) forest. Spent many a day exploring as a kid. Funny the stuff you can find out in the woods. Pic related is from the next town over. I like old buildings, especially courthouses and churches.
>>
>>8128746
>Funny the stuff you can find out in the woods.
any examples?
do you have colonial style houses? I love colonial buildings; the way they build house in the colonies (by the europeans) with local materials. is your town comfy? oh and thanks for the beer haha
>>
>>8128747
I grew up on a dirt road with woods on all sides. The kind of place where you can't see your neighbor's house. My brother and I were exploring one day and found what looked like a small "dwelling." A single bed raised off the ground with sticks and a "mattress" of pine needles. It was in a thick patch of trees that had the lower branches snapped off, presumably to allow freedom of movement around the little site. My brother swears he saw an "Indian" (as in Native Indian, not somebody from India) staring out of the woods toward the house. I saw a pair of glowing eyes across the road, maybe the size of tennis balls. In my old age I realize it was probably a big owl.

Definitely had some colonial style homes in the area. Hard telling what's around there now. I moved out in 2009 and haven't visited since 2015.
