Does anyone know a to stop Gameinput from reconfiguring and restarting my computer randomly? It does this daily (someties multiple times) and its interfering with work.

I'm on Windows 10 and what happens according to my reliability report is that gameinput reconfigures and my computer restarts immediately after. "unexpected shutoff" is the only detail it gives. Not a BSOD, screen blacks out and then my pc immediately reboots. I tried a dozen fixes.

>updated drivers
>updated windows
>DISM system file scan and repair
>disabled gameinput
>uninstalled gameinput and removed duplicate instances
>uninstalled xbox apps
>restored registry from a fresh win10 instance file
>uninstalled microsoft game services
>installed cleaning software to remove clutter files
>followed tutorials from whatever youtube videos popped up regarding gameinput issues
>replaced entire PSU on off chance it was a power issue
>checked RAM, no issues with memory

I have been suffering for months now and I'm desperate. I have looked at every microsoft forum thread out there. I have had this computer for several years with no issues up to this point.

This isn't ideal but would it be feasible to back up your data and do a fresh install? If this is getting to the point where it's interfering with your work than maybe it be worth it. (there's also the silver lining of using IoT LTSC 2021 to get security updates until 2032, if planning on sticking to windows 10)

Thank you for the suggestion. This is the absolute last thing I want to do but it may have to happen. I have been eyeing up long term windows as Win11 is the biggest dumpster fire I have ever seen. I would rather go back to windows 8
