Not really sure where to post this. Considered /diy/ but it didn't seem right.
I need some advice/critique on this room design. Example 1 is on top, Example 2 is on the bottom.
What I'm hung up on is that the sofa on Example 1 does not feel right since its not against a wall. Same with the TV facing the entrance. Something about that feels unnatural.
However on Example 2, the distance between the TV is a bit longer and leaves less room for speakers. There is also a window where the sofa is so sunlight could potentially hit the TV directly.

there's no fucking space, throw out that piano and coffee table

I would vote for nº 1: the sofa not being against a wall looks weird but you can get used to it, and thus have no drawbacks for that configuration.
I'd also be more concerned about if the right side door could hit the piano when being opened
Also, does the rooms frontal (in the image) aperture means there's more space, another room in there, or large windows?

I'd take the second, imagine being drunk walking into room 1 and hitting your toe on the couch

2 cuz it would feel less cramped than option 1

What kind of retarded question is this?

Top image as reference, theres a closet behind the sofa

Fair point

How about nº 2 but swapping the desk and the piano?

I've known a couple professional pianists and several students and none of them owned a upright. They go straight from keyboard to grand.

but where's the SHED?

Anon is likely just a regular old hobbyist. I plan on upgrading to a nice upright once I can spare the money.

>professional pianists down own uprights (false) therefore uprights are bad
Oh, so you're just a retard that doesn't have a real reason.

Top seems more homely and cosy. Bottom's more open and practical. Really depends on what you prefer I'd go with top.

Can't you put it on the other side then where the TV would be or switch the sofa and the TV in the top image if you can somehow figure out the cables in a nice way
