Physical evidence is lost and a lot of Epstein's accomplices and victims are dead or staying low. 22 people associated with his "business" have died along with a number of victims, suspicious in itself, but not helpful for investigation. And Epstein himself is of course dead.

Sucks that so many rich and powerful people are just going to get away with some of the worst crimes imaginable, but from what I've seen the DoJ's decision to not open up any more cases is probably the right one.
