I would assume it’s because most ancient religions were invented before people really knew or understood what other planets were, though almost all of them involved astrology, so they paid attention to space, stars, and other planets but I don’t think many ancient religions had the conception that beings may have lived on them or traveled from them, or that humans could travel to them, though I personally suspect major constellations are related to early ET contact.


Scientologists and Mormons have an interesting cosmology that involves around other planets. Greek polytheism and ancient Hinduism and Buddhism had similar conceptions as well.
