My way of looking at it is as follows (responding to why high IQ people seem to now languish in society):

Because they have instated a culture of mediocrity and the grass that grows highest must be trimmed down to the level of the rest. Highly intelligent people are a threat to the system unless they can be controlled through education and indoctrination mixed with other (dis)incentives. This doesn't work on a large subset of the high IQ population. Therefore, they must be socially engineered into degradation and prevented from ever posing a threat.

Modern society is not designed for the outliers who created everything we know and love but for the lowest common denominator. If some people are smarter, that will hurt the fee-fees of others who are dumber. They must be equalized or neutralized in order for the current system to persist.

I agree. We can see this with how suppressed racial IQ studies are. They cannot let the public know about the connection between race and IQ because it would hurt too many people's feelings.
