H
I used to do boxing in high school (3 years). I'm now 36. Thinking of starting karate. Which type is good?
Should I do shotakon karate? Or I have an ashihabara karate school right next to my house, it seems the best for me.

(I already did TKD (Taekwondo not Total Kike Death) and Muay Thai and I didn't like it much but ashihabara karate seems cool and more useful from videos)

Before I start, I wanted to get a bit more /fit/, so I lost a lot of weight, got down to 77 kg from 88, I'm 187 cm. Still no visible abs but I think I should be good to go

honestly at this age look into muay thai, bjj, or MMA

the target demographic is more skewed towards adults and you get into the action faster

the focus on forms n weird shit for belt rank progression will be not too different from the tkd bs u had to do. not sure why u want to do that if u already box and theoretically understand how to train to fight and be fit. go find a kickboxing/muay thay school that has a big emphasis on competition.
