Piccolo is a babysitter, Freeza is gay, and the others are boring. I'm almost starting to say that GT was good. The series had the right ideas. It's just that they were poorly executed. Still, the best thing about DBS is the first movie, even the design and characterization of Beerus makes him better than every other character they created. Another thing I like about the movie is the apparent lack of plot, which is refreshing for a shonen story. It also has the best fights post-Buu saga. In fact, Beerus vs. Goku is better than most of the fights in the Buu saga. The anime did a lot of lifting. People watched the anime first and have many of their opinions colored by the adaptation. “Toei is evil,” but without them, people wouldn't be that fond of the manga.

The current "trapped in stopped time/devoured universes setting where they can only really move thanks to piccolo making an area of unfrozen time is the best "challenge" the galaxy busting cast has seen since the end of Z. If he doesnt eat right yes I would expect him to be more lean and have more defined muscles. Goku was eating giant fish and other giant wildlife everyday while Bejita likely ate like shit while working with Freeza and only ate after battles so he likely wasnt filling himself like Kid Goku. Kid Goku again had a better consistent diet so he has that bit of chub. I think theyd look better if Bejita was thinner and lean and Goku was more chubby like his classic look. Bejita is a slave while Goku isnt. I also suspect thats why his growth is so stunted. Freeza likely had him on carbs and not alot of meat. Bejita only got large amount of meat after eating alien people. It just isnt as consistent as Goku's diet.

Freeza likely let Raditz eat more than Bejita. Wouldn't be surpised. Raditz also likely had a high protein diet early on because his mom is a butcher. Bejita was born under Freeza's rule so so malnutrition thing probably started like right when Bejita was born. Would be a good way to keep him weak too.
