Its actually more popular than it has been in years, all the tickets are sold out in seconds. There have been two new Yokozuna last year and we might get a third Yokozuna next Basho.
The biggest reason is probably this guy, Onosato, he's not only japanese, he's utterly dominant over the rest of the field, except for the other Yokozuna, Hoshoryu, who can rarely stay in the Yuusho race, and hasn't won a tournament since becomming Yokozuna.
>>
>>285791120
Of course the guy whose entire style is "stand there and let you hit me" is the only one that knife-users can actually beat.

Mongols coming into the sport killed the views but raised the bar, so if a Jap can match that and bring it home, we they get higher level Sumo AND popular again.

There's also Aonishki, the Ozeki who could become Yokozuna next tournament.
He has the sob story going for him because he joined a Sumo stable just his parents in Ukraine were forced to flee west, but he also has consitsant double digit wins since entering Juryo, and he uses different winning moves with every new basho. He is also 3-0 against yokozuna Hoshoryu, but 0-4 against Yokozuna Onosato, so there's a rock-paper-scissors kind of rivalry going on between the three of them.

He's young enough that I think he's just generally too cocky to bother. I got the impression that Takeru doesn't really care about other fighters given his sense of superiority. But even if he knew I don't think he'd believe someone would willingly tank all that damage.

>I really don't believe a man can feel sexually aroused by depictions of women but not by actual women.

Have you ever heard of those people that consume so much porn that they have so much of an idealised view of sex that they get a boner from actual average women compared to pornstars?

That's basically a different degree of the same thing. People that feel sexually aroused by depictions of women and not actual women don't feel sexually aroused by extremely realistic depictions of an average woman, and would actually feel sexually aroused if they encountered a "real" 3d version of their depictions.
>>

I was wondering how long it would take to complete this "warm up"
Assuming it takes ~20 seconds for every repetition of rope climbing it would take 4,000 seconds to complete 200 reps of 5 meters which is 66.6... minutes. lol
For the 10,000 squats, we could say he does 2 every second which would then take 83.3... minutes to complete.
For the 3,000 push ups we could assume he does 1 every second which would take 50 minutes.
but these are sets, so he probably took 5 minute breaks in-between bringing it up 65 minutes.
And then there is the 1 hour bridge which is 1 hour

This brings the time spent "warming up" to 214 minutes - Three and a half hours

HOWEVER

Seki was assigned TWICE the usual amount of training which means he spent 7 hours a day "warming up".
>>

Usually it plays at being more grounded than WWE that is openly ridiculous.
Ever watch old Bruno Sammartino fights on youtube? How they basically pretend to actually fight? Its like if that stayed the norm.
Honestly it can be pretty boring at times, because there's too much dedication to keeping the 'realistic atmosphere'.
I prefer the gimmick fights and comedy matches.

Isnt that bridge the one Mike Tyson uses to do and he said it fucked up his neck forever?
>>
>>285798040
Neck bridges are a different thing IIRC. There's a whole variety of exercises called bridges.

But, yes, it was.

This isn’t even Baki but Garouden but you’d still be wrong
>>
>>285800212
The thing about Baki's art is that he could very easily draw normal looking people. He's choosing not to.

Daro really loves those absolutely massive pools of blood that form the moment a fighter hits the ground, doesn't he.

this is in reference to rikidozan, who got stabbed by a yakuza and later died of peritonitis because he wouldn't stop drinking and eating so much after the surgery

There's a Ringfit speedrunner in the 100% intended category, the dude legit just does 24h of cardio, squats etc on camera

I recall that Baki seemingly couldn't in at least one instance. It's when Baki comes to moisten up Hanayama's body wraps using whiskey or some other alcoholic beverage in Dou. He holds up the bottle, and then it cuts to him with his mouth full spraying it as a mist over Hanayama. Reading that it really felt like a purposeful omission of a panel showing Baki actually put the bottle to his lips.

He literally said "what are you gonna do to me, stab me? I could beat you up, I'm a pro wrestler" to a Yakuza back in THOSE days when the organisations openly did things.
The guy apologised and went to jail and Antonio Inoki killed himself by drinking right after the injury but it what it is.
>>
>>285802931
Inoki died in like 2022

He did teeth pushups to give him the strong resilient teeth that pro wrestlers need

Why so much dread?
Series have been shit for years and Sandro eliminating one of his waifus would be the first interesting thing he does with the hunger games.
>>
>>285804325
It's really feels like this, This Dailies are pure joy for me to experience and i go to Omega threads purely for the memes, i barely even remember what happened in the past few chapters.

Also i used to like Kazzy here too and only relatively recently did i start to get on my feet, it's never over "me", never stop "scaling the wall" even if you fall, it"s better to have tried than rotting at the base.

I was a new reader when the daily started, but I got too hungry and caught all the way up. I still see myself as "green."

It was more or less pure whim that I decided to not read Omega — I hadn't heard anything of it at the time, praise nor critique, it just felt to me that Asura had a story it wanted to tell and that story had gracefully ended. With little to no need or reason to retread or revisit the setting, the message, the characters. Granted, throughout reading and to the end of Asura there were characters — one in particular comes to mind — I had hoped to revisit and to see grow but ultimately you can't grip forever. There'll always be, for the reader, something unseen, words not heard, secrets kept secrets. And it's for the best, fighting against this is like squeezing blood from a stone.
All that is say: Boy am I sure glad I haven't touched Omega, 'cause from what I've gathered in these threads, it gets BAD bad.
>>
>>285806096
You can change that and finally touch Omega with us.
>>
>>285806169
Lol no thanks, I'd rather not subject myself to the AI generated fall from grace that I understand Omega to be.

Not particularily a fan of this. It feels like a subversion just for the sake of it.

Trust me, this is a good sudden development and it's all going to come together in the next chapter.
