A friend of mine, who is a grown ass man btw, enjoys and follows those minecraft "unstable SMP" youtube videos that are like scripted and poorly acted aurafarms for basically yt-kids.
I am really concerned about his mental health atp, is he developmentally disabled?

lowkey maybe, im all for enjoying what you wanna watch but literally shitty ass brainrot farms unironically?? he might be a bit mentally challenged, how old is he?? when you say grown are you talking like grown man with a job/in college- or like a dude who JUST got out of highschool

>is this something new or was he always like this
he had the ability to finish an anime or even shows before this
>like did he struggle in school or uni with traditionally easy subjects
wish i could say no
>did teachers have to explain stuff to him over and over?
you dont really get that from teachers in german schools, but his private tutoring for sure took a lot of hours

Ok, so everyone has slop/guilty pleasures they indulge in but I think your friend is unironically a little slow/delayed. If he can't even finish anime of all things (as in unable to not because he lost interest in it), then that is really concerning. You also mentioned him struggling with school. I would have a heart to heart with him about you feeling that you feel as if he is behind BUT that you want to help him. It's not that he engages with slop (we all do to some degree) but his overall behavior/whatever. Make sure to frame it as you how you are concerned as a friend and want to assist him to minimize his defensiveness or any arguments. Remember: it's you AND him vs. the problem, not you vs. him.
