Was recently fired from a 70k a year job because of A.I (and that I wasn't good enough to keep). It was a finance job, I was a junior analyst, and they trimmed the numbers by 30% due to Copilot and a bunch of new A.I tech that can comb reports faster. I was in that 30% of dogshit analysts so I got nuked.
My fiance is very open with her parents, and she's in a dillema because I told her not to tell them or my parents. My parents will DISOWN me if they find this out. But she is worried her parents will be mad she wasn't told, I'm also worried they're going to then hate me as a son in law.
I have 4 years experience now, 26 years old. The moment I got into an Ivy League School I thought i was set for life, then I couldn't find a job until I got this one... thought I was set for life. Now it feels like im a darker hole than I've ever been in. Have no idea how people ever handle this.

Going to assume your dad is the boss. Only way I can imagine someone getting that kind of money.

I'm the highest paid one besides a few that actually broke into Investment Banking or Private Equity, but to get those jobs you need internships dating back to when you were 10

really? they'd disown you if they found out you were the victim of something you had no control over or say in? are you sure maintaining that relationship is worth it?

They would say (which is partly true) that if I was an actual superstar employee, I wouldn't have been fired.
Even though they were replacing us with automation, if I was working on weekends, a bunch of extra work, a real problem solver, they would have found another role for me.
They'll just hear I was laid off and be like "loser failure we're done with you"
