File for unemployment and get your resume together. What happened?

Yeah it's destabiliIng especially in that context but if you are not financially ruined I say aee it as a chance to explore better options and change.

02/03/26(Tue)22:42:27 No.34225015 When I got fired I received unemployment for 3 months and got a better paying job! Then that fucked up my brain and now I'm completely burned out and a depressed wreck. So look at it as an opportunity, not a problem!

02/03/26(Tue)23:04:21 No.34225111 I'm sorry about my spelling errors. Other anon is right but you'll get used to not working again like during COVID. You only get like a certain amount per week. If you made near median it will be a bit of a decrease per week.

Take the promotion. If you really dedicate a couple hours a day to becoming wealthy, it will happen.

Looking for another job, the last time I was laid off I found another one in less than 10 days.

Fired three times.
First one I had moved from accounting to sales. I hated sales and sucked at sales and got fired after a year. It was a blessing. Took three months before I found another job.
Second was a company going down the tubes. I survived three rounds of layoffs. This one was tough because I was busting my balls. The package they offered was horrible. But the good part is they hired me as a contractor on a commission basis and made out well.
Last one was earlier this year. Knew it was coming and had a job lined up, but it was close. I had sent out 90 resumes in the three months before getting fired and one clicked just before my last day.
Treat getting a new job like a job. Work on it every day. And take time to better yourself and get other things done around the house.
The key is your contacts/network. Find people who can recommend you to others. Ask their permission to use them as a reference. Ask them to review your resume. I've had 9 professional jobs and the last 6 were gotten through my network.

These days due to the job market it's easier to convince a potential employer that you spent that time looking for a job.
