I'm 50% Filipina and I can confirm that filipino cuisine can be stupid

Try and explain that

Lots of dumb dishes become staples or traditional for all kinds of good or bad reasons, from sheer necessity to cultural inertia
>explain rice with noodles
They're both nice to eat and similar things can compliment each other if done well.

My mom (who is 1st gen from the Philippines) literally mixes rice and instant noodles together with her hand and eats it. She says it's delicious. I'm not too sure about that

Some third worlders probably think the same about you

My wife is filipina and they mostly live off dried fish and rice. Do you guys have any idea how bad dried fish smells? I set up a propane burner for her outside on our apartment balcony, I don't allow her to cook dried fish inside our home.

This image is funny because I've been to the philippines and of all the philippino restaurants in america that I've been to, the one that tasted the most like what I had there was a place run by a white philipinaboo who used to be in the army or something and started a restaurant after coming back to the states. Or maybe he was just good at capturing how the food tastes to outsiders.

I'm assuming that the dumb fuck eating the stinky food is the insert of the guy who made this and doesn't realize that his mom made stinky food because she's a bad cook and that whatever chef made the restaurant's food smells good and doesn't stink? OR the kid he's sitting next to is actually saying the brown boy himself stinks but he's being polite by blaming it on the food. That's besides the fact that all three dishes are different where his prepared lunch looks like shit that was probably made the night before and has been festering at room temp for hours until lunchtime whereas the other foods were prepared 5 minutes ago.

>Filipina
Please refrain from mentioning your sex and/or gender while visiting /ck/. Although you may not be aware of this (although I think you are), many people posting on 4chan are not in an intimate relationship.
Therefore, referring to your femininity can be highly offensive to others, as they visit /ck/ to have fun and intellectual discourse, not to be reminded of their shortcomings (as perceived by society).
I hope you remember this in the future and refrain from using any key words that can be used as gender identifiers. It really is not that much to ask and will prevent threads from degenerating into flame/troll disasters.
Some of us also choose to be single and our virginity is not a badge of shame. The inherent superficial and highly opportunistic behavior of women is not attractive to every male, and therefore we do not have to be constantly reminded of your kind while on /ck/. It is not necessary and can be considered, "attention whoring" (a very just term).
Thank you very much,
- /ck/

I'm a filam who only recently returned to the states after spending about a decade in the Philippines studying medicine. I have a lot of views on Filipino food.
I'm tired of rice. Bread is better. But I do love sopas and I don't understand why they don't have it at the joliibee in the US.

It's starvation food. Anyone who tries to glorify it as a culinary cultural triumph is a retard. My friend who immigrated to the US from the Philippines tells stories about how he used to catch crabs out of a stream as a kid and eat them raw because there was nothing else to eat.

This guy will never not be unintentionally funny in every shitty cartoon he produces.

no dude Im hapa and I love filipino food but to American kids used to lunchables and nuggets, our food does stink. Everything we make is cooked with garlic, vinegar or fish sauce. And a lot has bagoong, fermented shrimp paste.
My leftover fish sinigang stinks up my fridge for days after

>eat with hands
now that I have seen
the poorest thing I have seen is the various silog. First time having it visiting family I was like "hot dogs rice for breakfast? At least there's an egg"
Then I discovered sardine and spam silog years later and crave them every now and again. I'm sure there's a years old can of sardine in spicy tomato sauce in my pantry somewhere
