Like an idiot I took some Zycam for a headcold and now I've lost my sense of smell/taste. Happened to me a few years ago with covid, but I don't want to spend the next few weeks/month just eating boiled potatoes and radishes.
Anyone have experience with foods that are palatable with this shit? Most flavorful things taste like rancid mucus to me now, and all the online recipe recommendations seem way too overspiced.

there's a current meme on the wellness internet that says nicotine patches can unfuck your sense of smell/taste if you had covid
>>
try smelling some ammonia. if you can't smell that, you're fucked.

If you want to try this OP I get the 21mg patches and cut them into quarters, package says not to but I haven’t noticed any issue. Also don’t wear it overnight or your dreams will be super vivid

I lost my sense of smell 3 times, likely from covid three years in a row. It is so fucking annoying but I’ve learned to recalibrate my sense of smell by taking big huffs of vanilla extract multiple times a day and really focusing on the memory of the scent. Eventually I can start smelling the vanilla again and with it the rest of my sense of smell comes back.

Covid took almost all my sense of smell/taste back in 21', I have recovered a lot some but not 100%, I fucking hate that bioweapon.

Anon grab some essentials oils, a few of them. Smell them multiple times a day. It will quickly help you get your sense of smell back.

I'm lost me sense of smell 3 times. Food with interesting textures keeps things interesting. Pork floss was a favorite of mine. As for flavor hot sauce and/or circus gives things something close to flavor; the heat/acidity isn't linked to smell.

I'd say I'm at the 60% mark. Unless it's a big bold flavor I can't detect it. Saves me some money cause most premium foods have delicate flavors; but I'd rather be able to taste them.

Crazy how losing your sense of smell isn't a thing for the variants of flus and colds in the west. I lived in Korea for some years, and losing your sense of smell and taste was a common symptom for flus that didn't surprise anyone, though it rarely lasted more than a day or two. Also funny how it didn't happen to me with covid. A lot of you claiming to not be fully recovered are just in your own heads I expect.

You can lose your sense of smell from any upper respiratory disease, anon. I've lost mine from the flu multiple times.

I know. So why'd the whole world act like it was this crazy new shit that never happened before? Same old flu symptom I've known and lived with my whole life in Korea as a kid.
