I love it when artists paint boys wearing modernized traditional clothing with shorts ToT its just a perfect combination
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>
Since we're currently in a thread about fashion, there is important question need to ask: Are shorts the greatest thing ever created?
>>
>>4016464
2nd greatest after shos.
>>

>>
I know it's just my shotacon brain but i always thought they looked extremely erotic in this scene
>>
The lack of shota wearing western traditional clothes art is a crime
>>
>>
Responding from the previous thread:
>>4016426
It's not really that violent in a blood and guts way, although Ritsuka does get some psychological trauma from the people around him.
>>
>>4016465
Cant spell shorts without sho!
>>
>>4016470
Some styles of schoolboy/preppy boy outfits are recent traditional western clothes. But yes, it's a shame that there isn't much that's early modern or older other than some medieval representation in fantasy.

I miss the sun.
>>
>>4016506
Wdym? It's sunny out right now, there's just also 7 inches of snow on the ground. I just got back from hiking with the dogs, you can enjoy the sun any time of year unless you live all the way south or all the way north
>>
>>
>>4016511
It's been gloomy here for weeks. It's often cloudy and rainy here (American south). But the rest of the year there's more daylight hours for the sun to sneak through. Or burn through. But winter is just gray skies and mud that never dries.
>>
>>4016513
So make your own sunshine, find a way to have fun with what you have instead of just accepting it and being miserable. Oh no your shoes got muddy because you went outside, so take them off at the door when you get home no big deal.
>>
>>4016514
I didn't say I was miserable. I am. But that has little to do with the weather. I'm miserable in the summertime too. That pic just reminded me of the warmth of the sun and so I remarked how I miss it.
And of course I take off my shoes when I get home. What do you take me for? An animal?
>>
>>4016517
Maybe? I don't put my shoes on to go outside unless I'm going in to town or hiking, if I'm just walking around the yard I don't put my shoes on even now in the snow. Doesn't that make me a bit of an animal?
>>
>>4016522

He also uses his hand mouths to suck evil curses from the body of people. He did it to a trap exorcist that he saved from a strong evil ghost and resulted in the trap falling in love with him and becoming an avid worshiper of his image.

This is me and my brother, guess who's who
>>
>>4016719
are you the one who likes him, but he doesnt seem interested?
>>
>>4016712
I feel that's the least speculative part. What people are currently calling "ai" is almost certainly a dead end that will not lead to actual artificial intelligence. But it's decently likely that mankind will eventually create real AI and use it to produce androids. Which, being nigh immortal, would likely end up replacing biological humans.
The more speculative part is that I think the AIs would be in on the android thing. Squid spider mechanical abominations would probably be a more efficient vehicle of interaction with the physical world for an AI that can shape itself however it wants. But if they truly are intelligent, then they will also be irrational and driven by things like aesthetics, sentimentality, and a desire for companionship. The human form is pretty good anyway, so it wouldn't be a huge compromise. And it's not like having a main android body would preclude them from having a spider bot extension of themselves to do any manual labor.
Without needing sexual dimorphism for reproduction or to be adult formed for strength and intelligence, they will settle on the aesthetic peak of humanity.
>>
>>4016721
maybe if we can somehow transport our minds into androids, but other than that...
>>
>>4016722
Even if you uploaded a copy of your consciousness into a machine, your own consciousness would still be trapped within your body. But true AIs might have souls. In which case, you could reincarnate as one.
>>
>>4016723
why would it be a copy?
>>
>>
>>4016724
Mapping a person's consciousness to generate a copy is potentially feasible. But how would you extract a person's consciousness? That'd be like extracting the blue from the sky.
>>
>>4016727
if we could make a copy of it, then using the same technology thered be no reason we couldnt just take the consciousness itself. the copy seems like it would be the prototype before they get to the actual thing
>>
>>4016719
This you?
>>

>>
>>4016734
If you really want to know, it bothers me because the vocaloid voices are (or at least some of them, including Len) are modeled after real people that lent their voice to it so it's kinda gross to me that behind the art of Len is the voice of a real sho who is all grown up now and can see lewd r34 of his voice's character.
>>
>>4016736
colder areas dont have them luckily
>>
>>4016737
Len has the same voice provider as Rin. An adult woman. Just like the voice actors of most shos in anime.
Oliver is the only mainstream voicebank produced by a real little boy. There's also the less well known Sorashido Lemi. And a Chinese one that I forgot the name of.
>>
>>4016736
>>4016738
Even in warmer areas, they're not that big a deal. Hookworms come from poop. They don't just spontaneously form in the soil. I've been walking outside barefoot my entire life and have yet to get them.

Imagine if Made in Abyss had Natt as the main character instead of Riko
>>
>>4016907
This is going to be controversial, but I think this story wouldn't work as well if Riko was a boy. One of the most common complaints against her is that she is useless. I don't entirely agree, but she does often sit on the sidelines while other characters, particularly Reg, actually do things. And the enormous disparity between Reg's physical strength and durability and Riko's total lack of both is a major component of their dynamic.
None of this would work with two shota protagonists. Man and boy, yes. But not even the the gentlest nerdiest theater boy would be OK with feeling weak and useless compared to his jock boyfriend. Similar aged boys are just innately going to strive for some semblence of physical parity. If was Natt in the big hole instead he would be constantly battling insecurity over his comparative weakness and likely end up getting himself killed in an attempt to prove his worth.
If it was rewritten to have the human protagonist be more of a relic wielding crafty sort then having him be a boy would work. But that's a different story. Arguably a different genre.
>>
>>4016909
I didn't mean it as in what if Riko was a boy, but to fully replace her with Natt.
>he would be constantly battling insecurity over his comparative weakness and likely end up getting himself killed in an attempt to prove his worth.
As opposed to how Riko was always careful and never was in any dangerous position...
Bur aside from that I see no issue with such reaction that could be interesting and fun to read/watch

I'm slightly more attracted to Gon but personality wise i identify more with Killua so i guess if i had to choose I'd choose to be Killua.
>>
>>4016924
Gon is very good socially so I agree with you. He would be a good boyfriend, Killua is very lucky.
>>
>>4016912
I never said Riko was careful. But she doesn't suicidally risk her life for no other reason than to prove she isn't weak and useless.
>that could be interesting and fun to read/watch
I think it would be depressing. All the angst and insecurity would get in the way of the boy love. I don't mind a power imbalance, but this is too much. Unless, again, the human boy was more active via relics. I would enjoy reading something like that. But it would be quite different from made in abyss.
>>
>>4016924
Same. I want to be Killua. I want Gon to be my boyfriend.
>>
>>4016930
>she doesn't suicidally risk her life for no other reason than to prove she isn't weak and useless.
No, she does it so she can get to the bottom of literal hell...
>I think it would be depressing
I don't know, boys trying to prove they're strong/mature is well known trope, and I would say it is far from depressing, at least for me.
>Unless, again, the human boy was more active via relics
Wow, that reminds of... the newest white whistle, the sovereign of children... what was her name again?
>>

I love Bratty sho..
>>
>>4016938
>she does it so she can get to the bottom of literal hell
That would be true for anyone.
>boys trying to prove they're strong/mature is well known trope
That's exactly my point. It's common because it's true to life. That's how boys really think/act. The difference is that it isn't as emasculating for a boy to compare himself to a normal peer or to an adult as it would be for a boy Riko to compare himself to Reg. And so what they do about it is less desperate, self destructive, and dangerous.
When Tokiyuki worries that he isn't contributing enough to repay Yorishige's kindness, he rides himself ragged as a messenger not resting enough. Which does unintentionally put him in danger. But a boy with as much one sided reliance on Reg as Riko would end up intentionally confronting some horrible abyss creature.
It would just be this awful soul crushing cycle of a boy always feeling worthless and guilty, doing something pointless and self flagellating to punish himself for it, and then getting rescued making him feel even worse. Until eventually he doesn't get rescued.
>the sovereign of children
Riko has two relics. Her mom's pickaxe that she uses so infrequently that it lives on Reg's backpack. And her white whistle which, so far, only powers up Reg. In their most recent confrontation with the sniper, she was absent doing first aid. And in the one preceding that with the squid, she literally stood there doing nothing. For a boy delver to be happy with himself, he'd have to be lot more involved than that.
Just imagine nenless Gon having to stand there and watch as Killua dealt with some monster because he was so impotent that any attempt at assistance would only make things worse. That state of affairs just simply could not continue for long.

Hope the anime increases it's popularity since i never see anyone talk about it. Also is it from the Gantz mangaka or one of his assistants? The art style is basically the same as Gantz
>>
>>4016955
Apparently the 3D models are done by the same person, but the actual mangaka are different people. The Gantz mangaka spends his days posting aislop on twitter, so I don't think he has time for something like this anyway.

>If it was rewritten to have the human protagonist be more of a relic wielding crafty sort then having him be a boy would work
That's similar to the premise of a story I had imagined a long time ago. It's about two orphaned brothers who make a living hunting monsters that began to appear in the world. The older brother is 12-15 years old and fights using his own strenght and weapons created from the remains of defeated monsters combined with human technology, while the younger brother is 8-10 years old and due to experiments performed on him in his childhood has the ability to turn parts of his body into those of the monsters he hunts and eats (like a more visceral Kirby or Megaman).

Due to the younger brother's young age, the experiments he underwent, and the stigma of being part monster, his transformations are influenced by his mental/emotional state, causing him to lose control of them in situations of extreme stress and making his older brother the “anchor” that helps him return to normal. The older brother also suffers from the problems one would expect from a teenager who is raising a child alone without help, added to the constant fear of losing his little brother or dying and leaving him alone, the stress of always having to act positively to prevent his brother's mood from getting out of control, and a little bit of resentment for being physically weaker than his little brother and other monster hunters.
