02/04/26(Wed)09:07:17 No.152374630 It was just kinda whatever. Not the big finale to Norman's run as the Resolute Spider-Man that I'd like, but I dunno how much of my disappointment is tied to the art. The whole sequence of Norman back on his glider and then fighting Kingsley just looks and feels so goofy. It really should've been a lot more dynamic, something about seeing Norman's mouth really throws off the whole picture of things.

Ehhh, I disagree. He can still do the occasional pin-up if he actually has time for it. He's done interviews where he's explained that things get worse when he rushes, but that's part of having these deadlines (really old interview, basically explaining individual sections of books, not ENTIRE books). That said, he's deep into his 70s and clearly can't keep up with the workload. His stuff these days is terrible, and to get something on the level of even his early 00's work, let alone mid-90s work would probably take three times as long, if not longer.
I fucking hate modern Miller work; it looks like shit. I understand it on an art theory level, I see what he's getting at, but that doesn't mean I give a shit. JRJR doesn't have that reasoning behind his work - it's just falling apart.

>why is norman pretending to be spider-man?
He got mephisto shotgunned and his "sins" were removed (and later became a demon entity), Peter naturally didn't have any of it and chewed him out until the next run where they became best pals, except Peter was only pretending in order to keep an eye on him, only not really and he actually did like Norman as a father figure since the old times (???). Since then, Norman is a vaguely violent and unhinged but well-meaning hero and no one really cares about his track record despite the stories trying to establish otherwise in narration. Norman decided to cosplay after his disappearance, 'keep his dream alive'.
>what happened to Peter?
Got slapped and abducted to space by a low quality Morlun expy in order to pull a low quality GOTG mini down to Rocket Racoon tagging along.
>where's MJ in all of this?
Molecularly bound to and kept alive by the symbiote and vice-versa. Went to tell Peter the news only to get told off by Ben pretending to be Peter for... no in-universe reason whatsoever, just Kelly throwing readers a bone. Hasn't showed up since.

They're so creatively bankrupt that the only possible thing they can do for ASM # 1000 is: "Peter Parker is Spider-Man!"
When will Disney just lay off everyone at Marvel? This is the worst the company has ever been and that's really saying something.

I would but I know how bad the writers are so I can't ever say I'm surprised or confused. I just know it's going to be terrible and don't read it. Instead, I'm re-reading Spider-Man from the beginning, skipping the Clone Saga, then stopping before I get to Civil War unless it gets really stupid then I'll just stop when it gets too stupid and say: "Well, that was it for Spider-Man!"
One nice thing about growing up in the 90's-00's is you're used to your stories like this not really getting a definitive ending. It just had a bunch of cool episodes and then they stopped making more.
