H
my goal by the end of 2026 is to be able to do at least 8 reps of pull-ups with 20 kg added. right now i do 3 sets to failure with bodyweight only: first set 10 reps, second 8, last 8. is this realistic, bros? how should i adapt my routine to get there?
this is what i’m currently doing:
pull-ups 3x6–10 (if i go over 10 reps, i add weight)
lat pulldowns 2x8–12
t-bar rows 2x6–10
pullovers 2x12–15
is this enough?

if you're at 10-8-8 with body weight only just start adding weight slowly, even if it is only like 10 lbs to start
then just keep doing what you're doing
rows or other lat exercises are good but just progress with your pullups
it's not rocket science, you just have to do them

adding an extra rep is harder than adding weight to the pull up. Go for like 3 sets of 6 and add 2.5 lbs each week. I did this and got to like +45 on my pull ups

why would you say 3pl with 60kg added instead of just giving the total?

My goal is to do a single fucking actual pull up
Right now i can only do 3x3 barely chin above bar pull ups, i feel like im not progressing despite doing it 3x a week, am i supposed to increase it to 4x a week or something, or do i focus on negatives and that'll be enough to get me there

negatives could be good
also try holding at the very top for a progressively increased amount of time

Alright thanks

i use a backpack because i am not paying 40 dollars for a weight that has no utility outside of weighted chin ups and weighted deadhags

dip belts cost less than 20 dollars and you can use them for doing pullups, dips, calf raises and probably other exercises as well if you get creative
found mine to be a good investment

Funny I'm like 185lbs and I can do 4x10 pullups with 50 lbs on me no problem.
But when I go to do a bench I fart out at 235 at a pussy 3 reps.

Are you doing pull ups at the start of your workout? If not, always start with them. I always start my full body workout with 4x5. 6'4, 210 lbs
