you should be investing in gold and silver right now, not guns and gear
in case you haven't noticed, we're going to war within the next 3 years either with China, Russia, or even Denmark
society isn't going to crumble, we've seen 3 American citizens get executed and people are still dancing and being performative instead of taking shit seriously
just focus on the economics of surviving right now

Thanks. What’s the rational for this? The elastic just bounces around too much? I had flaps on my shit carrier when I was in and I always thought the elastic was better just cause they didn’t issue it.

What's the ideal barrel length for an FRT?
>>
>>
>>
I went from a Burris RT-3 d to a Trijicon Credo SFP 1-6X for my general purpose SHTF rifle. It's a great optic but I am still wondering if I should have gotten an ACOG instead. It's lighter, smaller, more durable and not that much more expensive. I've never shot an ACOG before so I was a bit hesitant to drop that much money on something people are so divided on. Has anyone that has shot both of these optics before have an opinion. I'm still in the return window of the Credo so I can return it and get the ACOG if I want.

my local shooting club is pretty good, not quite 24/7 but accessible 7 days a week one hr before to one hr after sunset. Every full member is an RSO after attending the hr long range tour and basic range rules. nothing really firearm handling specific though they assume you know how guns work already. several 25-50yd action bays and a large primary range out to 500. $110 year base fee + 10 "associate" account for my wife. 20 minute drive from my house. moving towns this year and definitely gonna miss that range the most.
>>
>>
>>
>>64811656
They told me that every member would basically be their own RSO too. But since I've never done competitions or attended formal classes, they need me to get evaluated which is completely understandable and pretty nice, they don't let just anyone in.

>>64811082
Honestly it is if you shoot inside a lot or are intending to use it for defense. Downside is that it does make cleaning more of a pain in the ass. You also might want an adjustable gas block if you don’t already have one.

Cmon you guys have to know something about this. I've never seen an AR like this before, it's called an Armalite M15A4 and it has "restricted for government and law enforcement use only" on the lower. I assume that means it's old, 90s. Does anyone know if these are worth having, if they have any problems?

How come you still can't disassemble the piston of the new HK MR556a4 without having to take the entire handguard off? Are Germans fucking retarded or what? They even redesigned it to be adjustable. Always one step behind, fucking worthless retards.
>>
>>64812088
I guess they were too making coming up with innovative design changes like reverting the magwell to a mil spec AR-15's so that they can finally use gen 2 pmags and shave off a bit of weight. Two birds with one retarded German stone! And they just had to add a left side mag release that protrudes so much that accidental mag drops are a common thing with it and people have to zip tie those things down.

I want to make a super lightweight 300blk 16 inch rifle upper. What are the best options for the barrel and handguard? It's mostly just going to be a deer gun, so I don't really need rails or Mlok on the handguard. Does anyone make a 300 blk pencil barrel?

Why would you blackout over a 6.5g for duurs? Especially at that barrel length
>>
>>64812214
300blk is cheaper to load and has a wider bullet. I'm not shooting past 100 yards the area I hunt. I'd rather have a wider bullet than a flatter trajectory and better long range performance that I won't be able to make use of.

holosuns will do 90%+ of what an aimpoint will do yes, but their QC is closer to somoshit than you'd like to think. They just have a good warranty dept that shoots off replacements no questions asked bc they know duds are slipping through
>t. owns 6+ holosun optics and never really had a problem with any including 3x 509Ts
>>64812184
not even - every step of manufacturing an aimpoint optic is done by hand aka by a real human (that's not a chink or a brownoid), who also checks the work done by all the previous human. Before the optic even gets to the official QC stage, QC is basically built into Aimpoint's manufacturing process hence the low rate of failure. This isn't even getting into differences in materials

most companies in the gun industry, aerospace, and automobile manufacturing have pretty much the same process of travelers attached to each component that get confirmed in each department. Even PSA has a similar system.

>leftist discourse is pretending not to understand anything and make debate impossible
The only white people they're shooting are the ones who throw themselves at ICE to defend somalians.
You are never going to successfully push any sentient being on /pol/ into taking your side on this. Not a single person here is going to ever find themselves in this situation because nobody here would even dream of going kamikaze into immigration enforcement officers to defend bulbhead fraudsters. The best you can do is clog the board in vain attempt to make it unusable but all you shills are doing is making yourselves as unsympathetic as possible.

was referring to the manufacturing/assembly process, not fabrication. But yes everything is done by hand, though rumor has it US based production is on the horizon
>>64812731
True, but level of training/expertise and scrutiny can vary greatly between Aimpoint and PSA.
I am in no way saying a T2 is worth all $900 MSRP, but there are legitimate reasons it costs more than a holosun 503b...
>>64812877
I feel you. Just love how the solution is to find a component made with (presumably) harder materials that will only destroy the buffer more and maybe auger out the detent hole and threads around it
>>
>>
>>64812971
Assembly is likely not done by hand either if they are seeking consistent torque and mount specs. That would be stupid and inefficient even if the workers were capable of that.
The only thing maybe done by hand is gauging lol

Superior menus to the RH25 which is a big complaint
Inferior (adm) mount to the RH25 which is whatever can probably fix
Occular lens has a larger diameter and eyebox for handheld use
Useful mag caps out at that 6-8x roughly
Overall id say its a superior device to the RH25 V1 but the RH25 V2 surpasses it. That said if you are eligible for sig shill bux(tm) its like $2700 and for that money its fantastic for handheld/lpvo multirole.

Oh God no, sig produces rubbish
You couldnt pay me enough to use one of their firearms. The majority of their optics while overpriced for the quality, are built by anyone but sig sauer.
If you were talking about paying full retail for a cv25 you would easily be in the territory of the wholly superior RH25V2 so they are still non competitive. Anyone seriously considering sig anything has to understand they are overpriced for their quality by maybe a factor of 2x and act accordingly.

Been in for 4 years, signing a new contract this week.
IMO for what TUSC is about (based on the course description, I've never been). I'd get a Chestrig that can at least hold 6 mags and two GP pouches (one for water and one for spare shit, Im sure medical will be on sight so we can suspend the TCCC larp this time).
I like the Helikon Tex Guardian Chest Rig, see pic rel. It holds my six mags (PMAG or STANAG), an IFAK, 1L Nalgene, and a map pouch against the chest. Also had two wing pouches against the chest.
I know another strong contender is the Mayflower from Velocity Systems. Its pouch city and holds 4 mags but I could forsee slipping in a couple more in the radio pouches.

>holds 4 mags but I could forsee slipping in a couple more in the radio pouches
I would swap between water/mags in the right GP pouch, can perfectly fit a 16oz Nalgene. Got tired of wondering whether 4 mags would last the day/night so eventually I ditched it, but it's still a great rig all things considered. Exists somewhere between a micro and a split, but if you're not too worried about footprint I'd go split rig for almost everything (I get it, you're not the one going to TUSC, just sayin)
Nice setup even if it looks very clean...wetworx?

Agreed, also wish they put a sling attachment point at the muzzle end of the rail so I don't have to add a picrail adapter there.
>>64813314
Is that a good way to get cans? I've only ever done it through local shops, one had the Silencer Shop kiosk and another had their own system that worked really fast (EVT), but now I don't live near there so I was thinking about trying Capitol Armory next time. Seems like doing the fingerprints at home would make me paranoid that I'd fuck it up and add weeks to the process.
>>
>>64813410
>Is that a good way to get cans?
I thought it was fine, I've never tried it any other way to compare though. They have all my shit on file so it'd be easy to use them again. If I can do the fingerprints at home any retard can. Plus they digitize it and you can buy the file off them for a few shekels, then use it on eforms

Here is my main PC also from Beez (Level IV plates front, back, and side). The plates and helmet (IIIA) are all from Highcom.

noob here buying my first AR, which of these two should I get? I was recommended PSA as my first rifle. second question is it possible to remove the front sight? from what I'm reading the sight is combined with the gas system.

You ever feel like you need to switch out the acog for an elcan for muh situational awareness or is it fine
>>
>>64813681
If you don't want a front sight gas block, don't get either of those, get an upper group with a low profile gas block.
You could remove the FSB, but it's not recommended because it's pinned to your barrel and your new low profile gas block that you replace the FSB with will probably not use the same pinning method.
Some people cut them down so they'll fit under a rail, but it's like, why start with something that you know you want to modify or replace? Just get an upper group with the gas block you want.

Mid gas will be carbine gas and carbine gas will be hog status
>>
>>
>>
>>64813681
The difference between those is the length of the gas system in relation to the barrel length
Carbine is going to be ridiculously more reliable but have slightly more recoil and slightly faster parts wear
Mid length is going to give a softer recoil impulse so you can tame the notorious insanely powerful recoil of the .223 round and not dislocate your shoulder with every shot
As the other anon said though if you don't want a FSP you should buy a upper that doesn't have a FSP
Although most optics will clear the FSP or atleast be useable with it if they have the right height mount so it doesnt really matter all that much I guess

gonna sound like a fag here but, I mostly just like the handguard shown on those rifles, does that handguard only work with that sight?
also if PSA bad what should I buy instead?
>>
>>
>>64813747
BCM is bare minimum people here will recommend. You probably don't have the tools to QC Psa's stuff so it's a better bet. That Magpul Handguard will replace any clamshell type handguard on a fsp rifle. You do need a fan for that particular handguard. I remember the guy from spuhr made a free floating gas block to use a rifle length moe with the same visual profile but I am pretty sure that was his own custom job
