To this day, the Spike's Tactical 9x19 lower is the only model with the mil spec fire control reliefs or "M16 shelf". The dimensions for the other stripped lowers are still have the cuck SP1 "low shelf" dimensions after all these years. I'm not seeing any protrusions on 9mm bolt carriers that would necessitate additional clearance. I might only speculate that wherever Spike's lowers are sourced from just so happen to have an easier time milling receivers with the Colt SMG spec as reference

Can someone give me a no-bullshit explanation as to the differences between some 500ish dollar PSA AR15 vs some higher end Knights Armament or Daniel Defense, etc higher tier of AR15s?
I've seen videos online, and seen some friends using these budget ARs and they go through thousands of rounds and don't have noticable problems. I'm not asking because I think you're wrong, I'm asking because I genuinely do not know and I want to know.
>>
>>
>>64814609
There's no difference. I actually like my buddies PSA I put together for him intentionally buying the cheapest everything possible better than my two 1k+ guns. It's lighter and I don't worry about dropping and scratching it.

>>
>>64814638
Alright I guess I was being hyperbolic. There are plenty of differences but unless you've had a lot of shooting experience, particularly with ars you probably won't notice it. A big one is that chf barrels are said to last longer than the cheaper nitrite ones. And you do occasionally hear of problems with the cheapo toolcraft bcgs and charging handles like my buddy has. I personally don't shoot enough to really notice the difference (under 2k rounds a year through both my ars). I will say my bcm trigger does feel better than my buddies whatever the fuck it is PSA trigger. But they're both just single stage triggers and I can't honestly say it was worth the 300 dollar difference in the price of the lowers. Im sure there's guys in here who do notice and appreciate the difference between all these things but they're putting way more rounds down range than I am and you likely will. You're fine with the PSA. Run it into the dirt until it stops working and then you'll have enough experience to know what you want to change and spend money on when you go to buy an expensive gun.

That pictogram is for automatic fire, similar to the one on the HK416 and in the same vein as engravings that resemble an auto sear pin
Sixteen years ago, the SP1 "low shelf" dimensions were considered the "full auto, M16 cut" because the "drop-in" auto sear [DIAS] and "lightning" link were designed for them
Seems they now have renewed purpose with the advent of auto reset mods with conventional selectors like the Arizona Regulator

The step has already been made. 640 cores have been pushed solidly to that 2000-3000 pricepoint that used to be occupied by 320 cores. 320 cores are basically free at this point. The $5000-$7000 pricepoint that 640 previously occupied is going to be filled with 1280 for the time.

>Okay but like thats only 12! PSA sells atleast twice as many as that
>>
>>64816732
>>64816741
Again, why does that matter so much?
If there's a problem you send it back and they fix it. I don't even know how true "higher percentage of QC issues" is, they do significantly more civilian sales then most AR manufacturers so have a much higher sample size.
Yeah a $450 dollar AR won't be as nice as some pricier alternatives but how does that matter in 99% of applications?
When you get a PSA you have to do an inspection (which you should be doing for any new firearm anyways). If everything is installed correctly, in spec and functioning normal, that covers 99% or realistic use cases.

PSA produces fucking junk dude, the entire AK world knows this. Even the handgun wierdos know this. But overhere you can sit here and excuse their behavior because ?????? its not like AR15s are expensive in current year nor is there any reason for PSA to shit out 9001 bad uppers. PSA themselves even recognizes this and attempts to launch a new saber, axr or aac line of higher quality every quarter. They fail each time because they suck lol.
>Oh isnt this fine

Who makes a very solid basic bitch carbine 14.5” pin and welded upper with the plastic hand guards and fsb?
I’m a handgun guy and haven’t had a ar15 one in a while.
Last time I had a “nice” one I was overly concerned about wearing it out and putting marks on it, mostly due to ocd and the fact that I don’t make a ton of money so I cherished it too much.
I’d rather spend less money on one and feel comfortable using it like it’s meant to be used.
Also, to spend the money saved on a better optic and more ammo.

By contrast here is a 640 thermal with manual focus at roughly the same distance. The difference in quality driven by a lower netk, better post processing and a higher resolution makes the image significantly more useful.
Can you find things with a 384/320? Absolutely, ive picked up blackhawks several km out, people, cars, etc at distance and it for sure draws attention to that area. But youre going to spend way more time trying to PID and make sure its not a hot rock or something.

More rail space and you can't brand yourself or cause a zero shift because the handguard acts as an additional barrier.
But they do lose a lot of their value when you can't attach shit on MLOK slots because the can takes up a lot of space. They get hot pretty quickly too for your hands so you need a heatshield which this solves. Or bigger attachment holes like the RAHG which does a bit less but cools quicker.

I have a 16"
I'd rather have like a 20" and a 10-14"
Longer barrels mean cheaper 55 grain ammo gets insane velocities and fragmentation though.
Depends on if you put a supressor on it too.
16" is kind if a weird compromise because of the gun laws

>Longer barrels mean cheaper 55 grain ammo gets insane velocities and fragmentation though.
Most cheap 193 is loaded light and improperly constructed for fragmentation. This doesnt work at distance, this doesnt work through barriers, this doesnt work through brush, etc
Carrying around 4" of extra barrel for sometimes cheap ammo being marginally more lethal is a yuge meme

Its not very good
Nor is their SR25 clone
>>
>>64817736
The sr25 clone has a cold hammer forged chrome barrel and can accept the over the barrel QD supressor. The m110 clone has neither.

I figured. I just came into a bit of money, and wanted to treat myself to something. Looks like this might not be it. Perhaps I'll just buy an asston of 5.56 for shit already have.

Now that the dust has settled and we've all come to our senses and had time to reflect, is the AMG 1-10x an upgrade from the ATACR 1-8x or is Vortex just catching up to what NF already achieved and adding a few magnifications that don't really matter to the operator?

On one hand I would say no cuz it’s not the original design and you will break your buffer retaining pin but on the other many do not like the 12.5” and it would cause them to say it’s not the original modified design (11.5” which breaks the buffer retainer more) so I say buy it
