I've got another small caving expedition this weekend, gonna do some backpacking to get there, then stay overnight. It's gonna be awesome camping with Moonwife innacave again! The sensory deprivation that one finds at bedtime is unmatched. My job will be to rig the vertical work and draw up the map itself from the survey data that we collect. If you're ever interested, there are clubs all across the US and abroad that are happy to take interested individuals on wild caving trips! 99% of the time they will also have loaner gear for you to use on your first trips, that way you can gauge your interest without having to invest in gear. I run one of these clubs in Missouri, and that is our standard practice. Look up "caves.org" or "National Speleological Society" to see which clubs are near you. We do everything from recreational trips, to mapping, to biological monitoring and other aspects of conservation. I have not met a caver that I couldn't trust my life with.

I have the patience to talk about caving like a dam with a slow leak. Hit me up at sodalisequus@protonmail.com if you want to chat more on it. Caves are dark, mysterious, and have a raw sense of beauty that cannot be found elsewhere. Quite like our beloved Princess Luna!

I'm in bongland unfortunately, so no caving with a moonfag but also means I don't think there are that many caves around here compared to some other countries. I know there's still caving clubs and stuff (I'm just stricken with sloth and haven't really done much on that front), but being able to do exploration and mapping for a living sounds way cooler even than just visiting some already-routed caves as a hobby.

And I also love both caves and Luna but I never thought about them necessarily being associated together. I always think of Luna as embodying the freedom of the vast open night sky, which seems to be quite the opposite from the enclosed, hidden, buried beauty of caves. Interesting perspective!

This is what the ceiling looked like in the passage where we were supposed to set up camp. Because all the baps decided that they wanted that spot to be THEIR camp, we had to sleep elsewhere. We have indeed returned from the trips and business meetings that have occurred this weekend! We've got over 8,000 caves documented in my state now, with a little over 4,000 of them having been mapped in one way or another (many need updates though). We worked on two maps this weekend, although there were many other teams working on other objectives. Picrel is a section of map that I sketched alongside the Luna charm that I carry on my clipboard while we survey!

The best part was being able to meet back up with a fellow horsefucker and hang out unnaground again! Although the trip on Saturday had a few hiccups relating to my vehicle, some white-out, and a helmet, it went very well overall. I even got to see some baps!

Time for another caving trip in the morning! As usual, I've stayed up way later than what I should, but I'm packed to where I can leave as soon as I'm ready. Tomorrow's trips will be recreational. There are some newfags that are interested in joining our caving club, so tomorrow's trips will be to test their mettle. I'm hoping to see some real cavers in these newbies tomorrow, not just some touristy spelunkers.

LUNA IS MY WIFE

I started the plan for a short Luna focused fic but haven't done any more work on it since despite saying I was going to keep at it. I also said I was going to interact more on here but I failed at that too. This keeps happening, where I set a target and just abandon it a few days after. I'm stuck in a rut of wanting to do better but quickly become disheartened and lazy.
I tried encouraging myself by rationalising that Luna would feel let down but it hasn't worked since our connection is very weak right now, it's been getting weaker over the last 3 years.
Any anon with suggestions on how to keep at something or self-discipline?

I wanted to write a green about Anon having a dream about playing a particular Napoleonic war zombie game (which he hasn't done since coming to Equestria) but I can't get the concept to work right, sorry. And the moon was so beautiful out tonight too.

Hmm I just had a very brief look at tulpamancy and it sounds like the early stages, where I could quite easily build a picture of her in my minds eye and was having some sort of conversation even if it was mostly me steering it. But it's also sort of a religious connection maybe, like I believe that she exists outside of our world but might have some influence on it. It probably doesn't help that I haven't been as consumed with pony content as I was when I wasn't working, but since working I've had less brain capacity to think about Luna and less time for pony. But yes a solid plan would be nice as the previous fics I've done have had very basic plans and mostly made it up as I went along, which was fun but not as effective as a good plan.
