Still haven't painted the white on your jacket I see.
I got a new jacket on the weekend and swapped out the armour in it from my other jackets which is to small on me.

Jawas are pretty fine, they have some quirks to them, but generally they're fairly reliable machines. I don't remember if Jawas had the inner crankcase cheeks with a separate flywheel like Izh Jupiters did, those at least on Jupiters tend to be common leak points into the flywheel chamber which will eventually cause issues, replacing the inner gaskets is a complete engine teardown, which isn't that bad if it wasn't for the transmission that you have to take apart too, those can be a bit finicky to get aligned properly.
The original Soviet workshop manual for aligning and assembling the transmission properly pretty much boils down to "just be yourself and throw it in there, it'll align itself", surprisingly that worked for me, just don't even try or think about it, chuck the sjafts in and close rhe case, it'll just go into place like intended. Fiddle around with it and you'll always be off by a tooth or so.

I'd recommend ditching the factory points ignition and dynamo for a powerdynamo/VapeEU unit. They're like 500 bucks, but well worth the money.

I used to get sore after just a couple of hundred kilometres when I was younger, now that I got older I had a moto guzzi that was supposed to be comfortable for road cruising and for some reason my tailbone started aching with it and I lost all feeling in my buttocks after riding for a while.
600km on my Ural meanwhile is like nothing, no aching joints or sore ass, nothing.

Not camping, but riding on the Blue Ridge Parkway. I had been at the Tale of the Dragon, then decided to ride the length of the BRP north. There was a hurricane pushing rain north, and I was trying to stay ahead of it. The Parkway was mostly deserted, and the longer I rode the nore the weather was catching me. I was tired, lost in my thoughts, it was getting darker with the clouds, and a light rain was starting to come down. I pulled off the road at a trail head. Partly to check the weather radar, partly to get the blood in my ass moving again, and partly to rest. I pulled my bike under the trail head marker to get out of the direct rain. I'm sitting there up in the mountains, under the trees, temperature dropping, dusk lurking, listening to the rain pattering through the trees. I was pretty exhausted, and my mind was just kind of empty.
Then, softly, faintly, I thought I heard a gospel choir singing eerie hymns from down the trail. It was both plain as day but also just beyond actually making out. I am not a superstitious or even religious person but it was starting to spook me. I got on my bike and started the engine and instantly felt better as I rode away from the trailhead.
Pic related.

guys, strange issue on my KLR. When I push it backwards with the wheel turned (either side), I get a rubbing/binding feeling, it even clicks rhythmically like clack clack clack. Rolling forward or with the wheel straight, nothing. Any idea?
>>
>>28963989
DCT apparently sucks for low speed stuff, where you would otherwise be feathering the clutch. Not so good if you're actually going to be taking it off road or crawling through traffic in town.

>>
>>28964040
sounds like something plastic is hanging onto something that moves
going forward it rides smoothly
going backwards it catches, snaps out of the way, catches, snaps out of the way etc making a repeating noise
i'd look for something hanging near the wheels and sprokets and chain.
going straight might fix the issue because when you turn the wheels you lean slightly, letting whatever it is contact whatever is moving
that would be my first thought
>>

It is touted as non-world-changing QoL improvement ackshually.
I rode a bike with e-clutch a few times. It is nice, you can roll to a stop and launch from a stoplight without touching the clutch, which is convenient.
It acts as a good quickshifter most of the time.
I still grab the clutch occasionally out of habit, and it behaves exactly like a normal bike.
I'm somewhat disappointed though, if you shift carelessly it doesn't fix your mistakes, shifts can be rough at times. Ultra-slow-speed also sucks (just a bit), feathering the clutch feels more smooth.

Hypermotard 698 quickshifter > e-clutch > every other quickshifter.

Senpai if you are serious, I'd reccomend India, come here only if you want to go to the best Hospital. There are a few, but "Apollo" in Metro cities is some of the best India has to offer. Price according to gemini is $1000 to $2500 for the surgery. You'll need physiotherapy, stay, travel, food etc. So budget double that (5k USD?). All your docs will speak English so you should be fine. Unless you are one of those stupid frog Canadians. For stay and travel, just use the online apps, don't speak to people. I don't want you to get ripped off.

Do some research, see if this is an option for you. If you are serious, let me know, I'll try to help however I can.

fellas i just reminded that i basically now own at least 2 full sets of gear since i have the ADVENTURE helmet now. hipotetically speaking it means i can safely carry a pillion (female) if the event ever occurs...how do you ride with a passenger?
I heard there are two "ways" you either make them follow your torso so they lean with you and you just lean less or you tell them to stay straight up and handle it like a heavier 'ku.

i remember last year i saw two girls on a 125cc sumo in the city center, so it really shouldn't be a big deal to just carry someone else if you know how to ride, right?

Nigga, I'm in my 50s and ride for around ten hours a day delivering parcels and the only (slight) discomfort that I feel is on my thumb knuckle that rubs against the grip stop when I twist the throttle. A callous has formed, like in the pic (not my hand), but I tolerate the discomfort because I'm not a little bitch.

So stop being a bitch boy and ride your fucking motorcycle. If it hurts then either:
A) Suck it up, princess
B) Get a better bike (ie. maxiscoot)
>>

Now that ive been pondering the pajeet timeline, do you guys think if Shoomers travelled to india for hand surgeries that i could also reenact the man that would be king ultimate freemasonry boogaloo, but becomming the king of pajeetahstan?
Idk seems like a bad idea, but what else is there to do in india other than be eated by the wildlife there- or die from traffic accident or a hard job like trains?

I guess once recovered it would be a good staging ground for the benis to vagene meme tour, lretty sure those cities are in iran and turkey, but irans getting shitted on

Do i instead opt for the Shoomers becomes the tibetan monk timeline- and i rob wayne enterprises while searching for razahlghul insids his ninjago fortress somewhere innahimalayas?

So many questions
So few answers

Ladyboyland on the other hand, at least the foids will be tolerable, because theyre actually dudes, so you can mansplain things and they will understood
But otherwise, what else is there to ponder about?

Otherwise i think my crfs front tire is too fucked for a long road trip, might do an oil change rn while im contemplating medical interventionism: patients without borders and the MAID rebel alliance

Overall though, i think im less likely to die in thailand, but maybe thats less opportunity to becone king of pajeetastan

How many shoomerwifes per capita and also royal bloodline geneseeds exist in eithsr countries? Hopefully the vocaloid shoomerwife in dbt wont be jealous

Man this design sucks. Also incidentally like every one of these rearsets that has ever hit the ground on the right has the brake lever bent at the back by the master attachment point because the adjuster plate gets shrekked and the entire thing bends in rather than the peg breaking.

Uh, maybe, but probably not. If the solution to fixing a non-running bike is simple, a seller will normally do it to make the most money. Rarely are there ever good deals on bikes that just need the tiniest bit of TLC. Probably something much worse is wrong with it.
I don't know if €700 is an average or even good price in your cunt, but my recommendation to anyone getting a first bike is always to make sure it's something that RUNS and you can RIDE away.

Any of you lives in a rainy country and ride the whole year? How is it like?
I want to buy a bike but I'm hesitating on the model since I also hesitate if I'll be riding it the whole year or not. I'm from Belgium and we pretty much spend half the year under the rain and two of these are snowy as fuck.
So I was wondering if I should go for a roadster or a touring bike (I also would like to make long trips with it).

Any recommendations for a model of bike that's solid for these AND look good? My main problem is that I love roadster/naked bikes looks and don't enjoy gran tourer's ones.

the only bikes i can think of that will be practical in shitty year round weather are dual sport types and sidecars. and for winter you will need studs in your tires. i dont know which but some bikes you can install the side skirts and large windshield like on the super cubs to block most of the splash and road grime from blasting your legs and body.

I ride year round on my NC700X in Pennsylvania, i have posted many times
Belgium is about the size of NJ, so im just gonna look at the weather in brussels and assume its basically like that throughout Belgium
Brussels is warmer in the winter (7.5C higher average low temp) and cooler in the summer (6C lower average high temp).
There is no month in Brussels with more rain than any month here (total of 320mm less rain in brussels over the year)
In Brussels there is virtually no snow, so I will assume you live perhaps somewhere snowier, but just googling it I dont see any major cities in your country that ever get real snow, so I'm not sure why you're saying it's "snowy as fuck." Average snowfall here is just shy of a meter a year in total.
So because you have less rain, better temperature, and less snow, and I know that I can ride year round, I am certain you will have no problem riding year round. Buy a good rain suit and some nice waterproof luggage.

Vibey Yamaha XJ6 anon here.
So I took out upper engine mount bolts one by one today and it seems there is an issue.

The bolts are M10, but the hole in the frame is 14mm. Also some white powdered shit came out of there, like it was incinerated by the engine. Yes bolts thread through the frame and into M10 threading inside engine holes normally, and washer presses down on the frame.

But why the fuck holes in frame so big? Shouldn't they be smaller or shouldn't there be something there? Don't tell me that white shit is ALUMINUM from some spacer sleeve that got powdered.

Tomorrow I will take out two bigger mounting bolts too and inspect frame hole.
This doesn't look right, I can at least get some aluminum tubing and cut it to size as a spacer between bolts and frame.

Wasn't able to take a good photo.

Higher speeds they can clip onto surfarces or turf like grass and cause the bike to flip from a pivot point if they get caught on something

The only time that frame sliders are acceptable is if you have an L plate on your bike. But if you have a full licence then you should be good enough to simply not crash and having frame sliders on your bike (without an L plate) shows that you are not confident and have a vagina.

would you rather lose a £50 bit of rubber on the side of your bike, or have the fairings catch and rip off and potentially fuck your case and engine up?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PoAxZ13LCOA

99% of riders are never going to be at the peak/apex of ability that frame sliders and crash bungs are going to negatively impact your riding ability,
i'd err on the side of caution and recommend most people use them, if youre riding a bike with delicate/expensive fairings, but its personal preference really
>>

My thoughts exactly. You either look at the flashing light, or you turn your head like you're supposed to do.

You are hitting those surfaces and grass with your knees before you're hitting them with frame slider. I don't know what kind of sliders you're thinking about, they don't stick out that far. Probably you had stunt crash bars with frame sliders in mind, that make bike wider than Smart. I once clipped Audi rear bumper from the side and it was my knee protector that made the mark, not frame slider.

It's a good way to protect your plastic, frame, pegs and lower controls from accidental drop or even a slide in an accident. I'm much more comfortable going off asphalt on a bike that has sliders or crash bars. All of my bikes had them, though I prefer crash bars. They are convenient for mounting lights.

Why are you comparing real security measures that save lives (helmets, seat belts) with illusion of security circlejerk that governments perpetuate to appear in control of situation?

Crash bars and frame sliders cost pennies and save you from a lot of damage and expenses. There's no reason not to put them on the bike outside of track-exclusive machines where every bit of weight counts.

>>
>>28965772
>they dont stick out that far
They stick out far enough and are bolted directly into the frame
Ergo, put then into a scenario where theyre involved in clipping things and they are more likely to catch like a tooth than a sliding crash bar cage
Could be a pothole, tar snake, or as i said before tufts of grass
And theres no guarantee ligament and limb xyz is meeting or contacting surface xyz first second or third
You dont know shit as far as variables go, and ive already stated the lesser risk in the exact same scenario of actual sliding and contact surfaces; crash bar will see less risk of additional insult to injury by flipping the bike already sliding etc.- or perchance it happens immediately after being laid down and not after a prolonged slide; that risk is far greater also upon immediate point of contact with a frame slider or even an exposed handlebar as opposed to one with barkbusters
Same principle there

And yes having these on stunt cages also exaxerbates the risk outside of the stunting lot and lowspeed shitpleb stuff they practice

The ones you have on pic are more traditional, but since theyre tucked inside theyrd not as prone to this risk, but its still potentially there and moreso than a crash bar proper

Where did I say that I'm invincible? I'm simply saying that I'm good enough to not crash and having crash bars and sliders on your bike displays your lack of confidence and demonstrates your inability to control your own destiny. You unironically believe that crashing is an inevitability which is a defeatist attitude. If you're so sure that you're going to crash then why aren't you driving a cybertruck?

>not everything depends on you on the road where other people drive.
I don't know what that means because everything in my life depends on me and my actions and choices. I can see the other people on the road and I can identify risky situations and choose to not place myself into those risky situations. That's how risk assessment works.

Cutting holes in stock fairings is retarded, no cut frame sliders that put a lever on the frame are retarded, and while it's the current reddit trend to act like you should never have frame sliders on a track bike because it will touch the ground and then twig out like a video game physics glitch and disintegrate and pretend the numerous pro race bikes with them don't exist, they are a bad idea on certain bikes like ZX6s where the frame always cracks.

If they stick way out they are retarded, but if they don't stick way out they aren't going to keep you from writing off a street bike from fairing damage anyways.

There are 4-5 other RE riders in dbt and they haven't had any problems either.
If you get a 650 I think they still over grease the relay, but that is an easy fix of cleaning it off and putting a normal amount on.

I also have one work colleague with a 650 and he does not take care of it at all and it still runs fine.
