I actually had to check cagematch because I don't watch joshi, but you are not entirely correct. this card at least alternated between big messy tag matches and singles matches, which is not what gedo does at all.

honestly he deserves it, he's the first Young Lion I've ever seen get over in opening G1 matches to the point he was one of the most over guys in the entire tournament
hell Murashima might've had the most compelling story of the whole G1 as a YL
He's a DIMES storyteller and a great underdog babyface. Short as he is, he's heavyweight money if you ask me.

Starting to think the Jakemeister might actually win. He's extremely confident and seems to have a belief in himself that he's going to win. Makes you realise how 90% of wrestlers have the booboo face and have no confidence that they can win and give it away beforehand. Either Jakeypoo is winning, or he's top percentile in working the viewer. He's even working me into seeing booboo face in Yoter at this stage. But he couldn't really pull it off... Could he? For me, the least obvious and routine title defence in a long time.

Ogawa didnt have the money to entice people to jump. It was always safer to stay with Bushiroad. Here it is clear guys can get paid more elsewhere (Or similarly and get a push) and if the office shows them no loyalty they have no reason to care about staying. That being said Bushiroad sucks.

The golden age was from the rainmaker shock till Naito finished the story. I am fine we are moving on from this group of talent, but we have no one to replace them with. Shame to see Hiromu go. They had money in a heavyweight push I think. Even if they didnt move him up I am extremely over Desperado and his nonsense.

It sounds like Kidani just let Okada take all of the reigns for Stardom which helped Okada do whatever he had to do to convince talent to stick with Stardom and not jump to Marigold. I suspect Tanahashi doesn't have anywhere near that level of pull in NJPW and there's ton of other suits in the back and those are the ones types like Okada, Naito, and Hiromu are tired of dealing with.

The junior division under him has not been good and has felt less important. Whether it is him playing tidly winks with Kasai and fucking over Fujita or the fact they only run junior title matches in small venues and not on the big cards anymore. We are a long way from peak Despy when he was removed the mask against Hiromu.

RIP Hiromu-chan, I went to Japan to watch WK14 live because I felt it was the culmination of a story. I thought it was for Naito with his heby qyu dream and Liger who retired but also it seems it was for the entire era. Hiromu vs Ospreay was a great match and in retrospect was the apex of Hiromu’s career because he never had a match as good as that or a partner as good as the Autistic Assassin again.
I am feeling a little sentimental but I love Tsuji, I love Yuto, I love Fujita, I love Murashima, and I love New Japan and am excited for its future. I am aware all eras must end, even if it’s the one I grew up watching.

Grimjeets repudiated by Big Sellouts Tsuji and Big Butts In Seats Jake once again.
>>
>>19824388
Kek, this is the same thing as CMLL. Every show is a sell-out, everything is great, company is doing great, company is doing record attendance and profits. Mistico / Tsuji are a huge draw. Dave gives them 7 stars. Meanwhile, the company is also getting ransacked by AEW.
>>
>>
>selling out shows is actually... le bad. look at all the toys we have!
don't care gayewdrone. we build home grown stars here, we don't need to build our company on leftovers. take an okarder, we'll make another one.
>>
Here is why selling out the Osaka show is not impressive:
-it was already sold out last year then they had the grimest G1 ever.
-they literally stopped booking shows in Niigata and Sapporo for the New Beginning tour because they don't have any drawing power.
-which makes Osaka the only big show of the tour.
-the fact they needed almost one month to sell out that venue after Trannyhashi gave them a sold out Tokyo Dome shows they struggled to even transfer the momentum of a sold out Tokyo Dome to that Osaka show.
Therefore I declare this technically GRIM !

[Breaking News]
Shingo Takagi (43) and Natsumi Maki Takagi (30) have committed seppuku after taking to the balcony of military installation Camp Ichigaya and calling on the Japan Self-Defense Forces to stage a coup d'état to abolish Article 9 of the Japanese Constitution and appealing to their own ideas and beliefs about reconstructing true national autonomy. They were jeered and heckled by the soldiers, and, having failed, committed glorious seppuku, seeking to inspire a rekindling of samurai spirit in the cattlebrained Japanese people of today. Therefore, Takagi-san will be leaving NJPW effective immediately. YOSHI-HASHI will fill in for him in his upcoming Kita Kita Brothers tag match. We wish Takagi-san all the best in his endeavours in heaven.

>Takaichi's views have been variably described as conservative or ultraconservative.[1][2] Her domestic policy includes support for proactive government spending and continuing Abenomics. She has taken conservative positions on social issues, such as opposition to same-sex marriage, to the recognition of separate surnames for spouses, and to female succession to the Japanese throne. She supports revising Article 9 of the Constitution of Japan - which renounces the use of military force - has a pro-Taiwanese foreign policy, and supports strengthening the US–Japan alliance. A member of the far-right Nippon Kaigi, she has been described as holding revisionist views of Japan's conduct during the Second World War, and criticized the Murayama and Kono statements which apologized for Japanese war crimes. She made regular visits to the controversial Yasukuni Shrine prior to her premiership. In 2025, Forbes ranked Takaichi as the third most powerful woman and the most powerful Asian woman in the world.[3]
Reminder that being a chud is not an excuse to be an incel now that ShinGOAT has shown us the way. "Photo taken 9 years ago". Nigga had that pic in his back pocket for years, hid his power level for nearly a full decade until he could go fully mask off as an ultranationalist. Ganbare Takagi-san! You inspire me to bide my time and wait until I can find my chud wife.

>I will humbly submit that one match where Despe tore his mask off
Yeah, that one was great too. But either the Ospreay match or the Despe match being his peak, Hiromu's been wheelspinning since 2020. I have no idea why he was so autistic about wanting to remain a Jr while still competing with heavyweights, it completely tanked his trajectory. No way they'd KWAB the heavyweights by having them lose to a Jr, he should have just let them move him up to heby. He even put a lot of weight on and got really wide, he was billed as heavier than heavyweight KENTA even. But just fell for the mark weight divisions too hard when really Jr is just a phase stars graduate from when they're proven to be dimes.

If he got the Okada booking it probably would work well for him. Give him a manager mouthpiece like Okada had too and no not Rocky. The build to eventually beating him would be much more impactful and not necessarily requiring a sold out Dome for it (though it would hit all that much harder).

Tetsuya Naito gives encouragement to Hiromu Takahashi, who is leaving New Japan, to cross borders... Urgent proposal to his former mat, where a series of wrestlers are leaving
https://www.tokyo-sports.co.jp/articles/-/375938
>Tetsuya Naito (43) of Los Tranquilos de Japon (LTJ) sent his support to Hiromu Takahashi (36), who is leaving New Japan Pro-Wrestling. Naito, who has been watching Hiromu closely since his trainee days, supports his protégé as he takes a step towards a new dream. At the same time, he also has an urgent proposal for his former stomping grounds, where a series of key homegrown wrestlers have left.
>On the 3rd, a major shock hit New Japan Pro Wrestling. It was announced that Hiromu, a home-grown star who had been the face of the junior heavyweight division, would be leaving the company after the Osaka tournament on the 11th. Hiromu explained that he was leaving "super positively" in order to pursue a new dream.
>Hiromu's master, Naito, who coached him when he was a trainee and fought alongside him for many years in Los Ingobernables de Japon (LIJ), frankly confessed his feelings in a phone interview with this newspaper, "He had a strong attachment to New Japan Pro-Wrestling. I couldn't imagine him leaving, and it's sad. Well, maybe that was the same for me," he said. "I had heard that other options were emerging within him. That said, I never said, 'You should do this,' or anything like that. My honest impression is that he's taken a step forward, and I want to support that step," he said, supporting his protégé's decision.

>Following his own departure in May of last year, this year has also seen the departure of key wrestlers EVIL and Hiromu. Naito prefaced his remarks by saying, "I know I quit, but... it may be natural to move on to the next stage once you've achieved a certain goal, but is that really the only reason so many wrestlers are leaving the ring? I want New Japan Pro-Wrestling to seriously consider this issue." He warned, "If we don't find out what the cause is for the departure of so many wrestlers, especially those who were so passionate about their work, I feel like we'll see even more wrestlers leaving next year and the year after."
>On the other hand, the history of New Japan Pro Wrestling is one of repeated departures of key players and the birth of new stars. Naito stated his opinion, "While it is a critical situation, it may also be an opportunity for a sudden turnaround. Generational change is a difficult issue for the world of professional wrestling, but with the departure of the top players, it seems like there is no choice but to renew the ranks, so it also seems like a good situation. I hope the remaining wrestlers will think, 'This is a chance,' and do their best."
>Including Bushi, who left the group at the same time as Naito, recent departures have been concentrated among former members of LIJ, who created an era. "We were the ones who undoubtedly led the team for the past 10 years or so, so of course I feel sad, but I want the current players to create something even better than what we created in the era. I don't think it's going to be easy to leave, though. LIJ has begun to walk a new path, and I'm really looking forward to seeing where they go," he said, sending his support to everyone.

>Afterwards, Naito continued to talk about pro wrestling, but just as he was about to say, "Even though you're in Fukushima, doing this interview over the phone is pretty impressive, isn't it? That's right, when I get back to Tokyo..." there was an unknown localized signal interference. Unfortunately, the call was cut off and the interview was cut short.

plenty of AEW bad on the latest Okada thread. It also points out a thread from the time he left that had the same sentiment. The threads about EVIL leaving are WWE bad because it's clear he's heading there.

Tsuj is literally currently mind-breaking the sel-titled 'smart' Jakey if ur a real mark and keeping up with the product. /ourdoublechamp/ is about to stockholm syndrome him without a physical kidnapping necessary. So both the entertaining and smart is covered, and his rectangular shape is threatening, no bloat but blubber as added defense plus a percentage true damage boost to the tribute high fly flow he will inherit and pull out for the win in osaka.
So to sum up, we are sticking with the flan, no skippy, cuz the unbound are around to abound

Really weird. TMDK won both sets of heavyweight tag titles, almost immediately dropped them both, had a shit record in WTL, didn’t even make it onto the Wrestle Kingdom preshow and were never seen again. Also amuses me that TMDK is/was the stable name for Shane and Mikey and NJPW just uses it for a stable they aren’t even in anymore.

I still don’t understand why anyone thinks that Naito, who famously doesn’t give a shit about American wrestling and turned down a WWE offer years ago, was just begging to go work for AEW or WWE. Because he wanted to do indy dates in the states? He can get by on his name in Japan at this point in his career/body condition.

Fightful snatched a Tanahashi blog entry about Hiromu
https://www.fightful.com/wrestling/hiroshi-tanahashi-addresses-hiromu- takahashi-wrapping-up-with-njpw/
>Today, it was announced that Hiromu Takahashi will be leaving New Japan Pro-Wrestling.
>I’m sure fans were surprised. We’ve had several discussions since the start of this year.
>It was about his desire for further personal growth and testing his potential.
>It’s hard to just accept it and say, “Oh, I see! Good luck!” Hiromu is a popular wrestler, and I’d be happy to have him. But his feelings were very strong
>What do you think is the best part of a professional wrestler’s job?
>Winning. Becoming champion. Getting the crowd hyped. Making money. All correct answers, but there’s one more. It’s “challenging your own potential.” Strangely enough, I never imagined two wrestlers who debuted in 2009 would find themselves in this situation at the same time. The future really is unpredictable.
>With these departures continuing, some people are starting to ask , “Hey! Is New Japan okay?”
>He’s a popular wrestler, so there’s bound to be anxiety. Even at yesterday’s Korakuen Hall show, I saw many fans holding Hiromu merchandise and support boards.
>It’s a difficult situation, but I want to be a president who can send off wrestlers who have found new goals.
>There are temporary emotional ups and downs, but I imagine the current roster doesn’t appreciate excessive worry either… I certainly wouldn’t like it if I were still active.
>The timing of this announcement, just before his final match in Osaka, came from Hiromu’s request to “express his gratitude to the fans.” I sincerely hope you can understand.
>Go expand your dreams, Hiromu-chan. Go out there and give it your all.

YOH was the one putting Fujita over.
If a wrestler wants to leave, you have 2 options:
-Stop using him immediately (the ideal)
-Job him every single match, clean until their contract ends.
Definitively you don't give them a tribute and farewell match.

>Hiromu, who has maintained a strong commitment to New Japan Pro-Wrestling, has long professed two "dreams": to win the IWGP heavyweight belt as a junior heavyweight and to compete on terrestrial prime time TV.
