Gyokeres was the one player I had faith in just thwacking the ball when in front of the goal but we saw today that even he's started to have doubts and is pausing too much and taking too many touches. A person that was flying high with confidence after his heroics for Sweden. Broken in just a week or so. The signs were there even before the international break so it's surprising.

That's understandable but I feel like you just got lured into a trap. Playing the way >we did and getting those results was never going to be sustainable in this day and age. We've seen how midtable teams have showed up for a proper match for a few seasons now. And how pretty much every single club can have magical moments. Playing for a single goal and hoping that the two CBs and Raya can just have a 10/10 game every single is ridiculous. I'm not trying to admonish you and I know this sounds an awful lot like hindisght speak but genuinely, I've been complaining about this since the end of the 23/24 season. Cause I just don't see the real progress anywhere. Getting to 2nd place is good, obviously, but then what? I could never do that. But as I said this could be the season that breaks my positivity and turns me into a soulless fan like Austria or like those 50yo season ticket holders that spend the entire game complaining and never celebrate a goal or sing a single chant. It might already be happening because I can't see us get a result at City, I'm 100% sure we're losing that game like we lost it in the previous title races.
