even if everything goes in city's favour they'll be level on points at best. you win games earlier in the season so you can afford a fatigue loss later in the season. city will get fatigued at some point too and maybe some injuries.

It's been a fun season, regardless what happens. Bournemouth were always going to be hard to beat. The team will have learnt a lot from that performance. We're still on the up lads. Not as if city have been clinical this season.

Fully deserved if Man City go on to win the league, look how they were pressing on for more goals after taking the league. Compare that to spineless cuck Arteta barely managing to cling on to a win against Chelsea at home, even though they played the last 20 minutes with 10 men.

Arsenal injury update ahead of Sporting clash:
>Riccardo Calafiori – Major doubt (unspecified injury). Missed the Bournemouth game and remains a concern.
>Martin Odegaard – Minor doubt (knock). Sat out the weekend but was seen with the squad.
>Bukayo Saka – Major doubt (knock from international duty). Still recovering and unlikely to feature.
>Jurrien Timber – Minor doubt (groin issue). Yet to return since the international break.

The strange thing about Arsenal is that despite bottling the past three or four leagues in a row, they have been in strong or solid 1st place for much of those seasons, which has made them appear like the overdog
>>
Not an Arsenal fan, so sorry for chiming in
Normally, I have zero compassion with big Premier League clubs. They have it too good overall. Like, United can fuck off. But despite my general glee in seeing fuckups of different clubs than mine, I have always had a bit of a soft spot for Arsenal ... I hope they manage to do it. Stay strong, anons. I know what it's like to suffer, and in your case, I really see why this is tormenting
If any of you have a say in club matters, please allow >us to purchase Vieira for 12 million tops in return for this mental support I am giving. Thank you
>>
>>
>>
>>154213287
It would be easier to cheer for them if they were playing good football like they used to back in the day, but they are playing the most atrocious form of rigid insipid dark arts hoofball you've ever seen. still they might actually do it and if they do, then nobody will remember any of this.
>>
>>154213357
That is an issue I have as well. It genuinely hurts to see such a season trajectory take shape (again), it's like an inevitable car crash in slow motion. But the game approach aspect definitely makes it harder to feel compassion. My sympathy for the team and the manager is very limited in this regard, as a neutral. They play quite cowardly and unattractive football, and they're mentally shaky as well at that point. They could and should do better. But if that's so frustrating for me already despite not caring much about foreign leagues all in all, it must be hell for Arsenal fans
Best case scenario is the team somehow limps across the finish line and wins the league at least ... followed by adjustments

Gyokeres is the problem, not Arteta’s system apparently
Gyokeres this season :
18 Shots
12 Goals
66.7% Conversion rate
128 touches
Works out to 2 goals per 3 shots
Erling Haaland (top scorer)
49 shots
22 goals
44.9% conversion rate
1 goal every 2.23 shots

Yeah I had this discussion in epl, they're too retarded to understand. Gyokeres is played in a role that doesn't suit him. Deep lying forward who is also responsible for the wings at times. It's massive workload and often unsupported. Often he isn't even meant to be attack, he's just there to hold up the ball and waste time because he never really has support. It's disgraceful really. He proves that he can be a great poacher and get good goals. But le epic system wastes all of his potential.
Arteta is wasting the players he's got. His system is fucking stupid.

At some point during 8-2 I just threw my hands up in the air and entered a zen like state of acceptance. There were many more stinging defeats for me. The Champion's League final, Game 50, Villa Park, Anfield 07/08. Not much in the banter years because it was hard to take our chances of success seriously and I'd already moved away by late Wenger. Shit, even recent games like the 3-3 with Southampton I think have bothered me more.
>>
>>
>>154216593
anfield 13/14 for me, skrtel scoring a brace within the first 10 minutes left me wondered whether i was dreaming or not, still wasn't as bad as the whole 10/11 season though, imo that was the last season before we entered our banter era
>>
The europa league final was probably the worst I had ever seen. Abysmal performance whilst the club was in turmoil. Team was absolutely shocking. They really needed that win and the manner they lost was confirmation the team is absolutely fucked and needs an enormous overhaul, new manager and questions about the board.
>>
>>154216606
Used to go to games fairly regularly back in the day, yeah. Never went to Highbury, even though I had a few chances, because as a kid it didn't seem like a huge deal or that the stadium was going everywhere. Went to the HK game last summer. Even then in pre-season I came away thinking, "Hmm, we played kind of shit."

Kai was so fucking bad that game. Pretty much everyone was but Kai especially was having a bad game. Passes like this being completely misplaced, losing pretty much all duels, even aeriel duels which you'd think he'd at least he not shit at just because of his height, his controlling, there was a moment when Raya went long, it got to Madueke? I think who passed it a few yards back to Kai who was under negative pressure, like 0 pressure, and Kai handballs it somehow. If he controlled the ball and just made a quick pass forward, Madueke would have been through. Not that it would have ended up in a goal, because lol, but still. It was so fucking bad.

I feel it. It'll be 3-0 or 0-0, zero chance arsenal win. If one thing is true with arsenal of late is they can bounce back after a shitty performance instead of just crumbling away. But a complete collapse really would not surprise me.
>>
>>154216618
this one was especially hilarious because Arsenal were top of the league and thought they were a serious team despite having cunts like Sharteta plodding around the midfield and a washed Mertesacker + Koscielny at the back
>>
>>154216781
>If one thing is true with arsenal of late is they can bounce back after a shitty performance instead of just crumbling away
I feel like that was true earlier in the season but not in 2026 and especially not since the League Cup. People kept trying to downplay it but that game was so fucking important.
>>
>>154216831
It's definitely waning and this next game against City will be the tell all. CL teams suddenly turn up. Best football I've seen from them for a while was against Beyer in the second leg. It was attacking, entertaining football with an air of composure. Never felt in doubt. Everyone put in a shift. I would wager we play well against Sporting and then most probably crumble against city. That would be blatant proof the clubs issue is mentality not ability. Which we already know but it'd be damning evidence of that. Then of course a valiant loss in the semi's to prove the team is not good enough for a CL win.
>>
>>154216928
>Best football I've seen from them for a while was against Beyer in the second leg
Agreed. That was the first game in a long time where >we actually looked comfortable. The last Everton game was okay as well but it also seemed like >we were just chucking shit on to the wall and seeing what sticks. Still took a 16 year old to salvage it in the end. So I'd say the Leverkusen second leg was the last "good" game.
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>154217018
I think they played some nice football honestly and they had a great record at home. Their counter attacks were good. Defending was also good. They just didn't have the quality to make it count. They are of course no where near City or even Bournemouth but they're definitely mid table side, maybe 14th or so in the Prem if I were to estimate. Considering we can't play well against Bournemouth, or Southampton at that, then a good performance would be a plus. But mentality shows it'll be followed by a shitter against city. And it'll be a fucking horrendous experience for the players and the fans because it'll be 90 minutes of being relentlessly hounded and humiliated.

I don't understand why so many people are upset about the league. We said after the Everton win that Man City must drop more points for us to win the title (many here agreed). They haven't yet.
That we would drop points was obvious. Bournemouth, Man City and Newcastle are difficult matches. The rest we should win. Will that be enough to win? It all depends on what Man City decides to do.

Overthebaard is crucially important to Sharteta's system because he acts as the 3rd DM, collecting the ball from the GK and back 4 when Rice and Poobimendi are unavailable to do so. Then he moves it out wide to Arsenal's danger men Bukrappo Sucka and Leonardo Drossard who kick the ball off the fullback's shins to win a corner.

From the Kroenke's point of view, just looking at their investment they'd be very happy with Arteta. Revenue's up, commercials are up, Champions League qualification for 3 seasons running, challenging for league titles, all meaning the 'asset' continues to grow in value.
For that reason, while a lot of the fans might think it might be time for change, i doubt the owners are thinking that, in fact i think he'll probably sign an extension in the summer for another cycle.

For all the useless fucking nonsense he spouts, at least this part is true. The amount of times >we slow down any and all attacking intent is truly comical. Raya is literally, fucking literally, the only player interested in moving the ball forwards in a timely fashion. Everyone else would rather pass backwards, wait 10 seconds so all of the other team can calmly jog back into position, or stay glued to the the touchlines so the other team can again just set up defensively without any fucking bother whatsoever.

>[afcstuff] Jurrien Timber, Riccardo Calafiori, Martin Ødegaard & Bukayo Saka were NOT spotted with the Arsenal squad on their pre-match walk this afternoon.
give Saka and Timber another season but SELL the fucking rest
>>

Still don't know what the fuck they were expecting from Calafiori. Those couple of months at the start of the season when he was fit was excellent but there was no fucking chance in hell we were going to get that consistently with an injury record as bad as his before he even fucking set foot in England. Such a dumb signing. Especially in a position that's been so fucking awful for injuries as well.

The captcha loads instantly for me but the actual post itself takes a minute minimum, usually 2-3 mins, but for the lineups it wasn't posting even after like 7 minutes. Wonder if something big is happening or if it's just coincidence.

During the spurs game I knew we weren't good enough to win the league. I put a bet on after that city win the league when odds were still pretty good. Watch the cash out drop to rock bottom. Now it's almost equal to the bet. After the city game it'll be 3/4 of the way. It's my only solace in the situation we're in. At least I get a nice little payout for the world cup.
Also bet on arsenal to win the CL which I'll cash tonight after they beat sporting. Come out a little higher than the initial bet. The PSG to win bet will be a nice payout, almost 5x.

Sporting are Bournemouth Palace level for arsenal. But comparing teams from Europe is hard. Stick sporting in the prem for a season and they get fucked up because the physicality and intensity. They play good football and on their day they probably beat majority of prem sides but they couldn't play like that over 38 games. That's why eurofags shit on the prem. The demands are much different. Having 11 Spanish playmakers makes their football fun and unpredictable but put that side in the prem and they die. Like Zubimendi.

Since when were fans wanting saka back? He has been a detriment recently, awful performances again and again. They need to change how they approach that wing honestly. Have a player sit much narrower or even a deeper inverted winger. Players do not get past the man on either wing, much less the right. Overload the centre instead. Havertz and Gyokeres are tall. So is shartenelli. Blast balls in the box from deep. I notice Dowman rarely goes to the byline and when he does he sees little success. You can't do late crosses when you play low tempo because the defence is organised and settled.
Honestly sharteta's tactics are just completely fucked going forward. Not even worth analysing them. Create a new system please legoman.

That's cool an all but saying they're wolves tier is laughable. A team that >we notoriously barely fucking beat the first time and didn't even beat the second time and made people wonder if the dream was dead even with months left to go.

>spend your post-career at peps city watching guys like kdb aguero etc all day
>go to arsenal, only sign 6'3 bricklayers and play terrorist hoofball
what did he mean by this? did he just ignore everything he saw in his career up to this point
>>

Well at least Shitvertz isn't playing, a complete failure of a signing.
>big brain Arteta thinks he can play central midfield
>can't because he's shit
>moves him back up front where he was a flop at Chelsea
>is unsurprisingly still shit there
>heh, must be a number 10 then!
>no, in fact he's fucking horrible there too.
A failure in 3 positions, bravo Farteta.

With this kind of form it feels like any side of quality should tear Arsenal apart. Somehow they're looking like one of the worst teams in football the last month or so. No confidence, no technical quality and overly emotional. Such a disappointment.

From what chances?
Zubimendi is the only player making runs in this team. Everyone else is just standing in position and wait for the ball to start running. Gyökeres has been shit today, I expect Havertz to come in and make some runs and we score a goal.
>>
>>
Does that count as a shot on target?
Also that might have been the first time >we've started the second half well in 2026. Feel like in 99% of the matches this year, >we've looked like >we haven't actually come out of the tunnel in the second half until it's been like 10 minutes.

This football unironically beats atletico but it was boring as fuck. And today had some of the weirdest refereeing decisions I've seen. 2 dives penalised which weren't even dives. And that random handball on jesus on the end.

I mean yeah, Arteta has sucked the joy out of an otherwise historical, well at least result wise, night because I know what’s coming on Sunday and in the semis. The team can’t score a single fucking goal anymore and persisting with White over Mosquera as RB also looks brain dead in hindsight.

I'm hoping this is 9D chess otherwise there is zero explanation for why the team are playing such mediocre football all of a sudden. Even the usual saviours like Owen goal and set piece fc are lacking. The players look tired but being tired doesn't mean you can't pass a ball properly.

As an ABA I was praying for a demoralising and miserable 0-0. It means Arsenal still need to divert resources to the next CL leg which makes them weaker in the league, but does not give them any sort of boost or confidence or momentum at all. Only bright side for them now is Madueke injury meaning Sharteta might be forced into playing Dowman, who might actually do something.

It’s over lads. Just remember at least we got to the semis.
I’d like to think we turn up and give it our best but I’m not sure that’s possible anymore.
League is basically over if we lose to city because it will destroy any remaining confidence that we might of had and city will start thundering through remaining games.
We had our moments until maybe October then we have been literally winging it.
Lego has to go.
We can’t go on like this.
