Chariots are very strong in Fantasy because they are immune to Killing Blows (can't be one shot by a weapon/character/unit with the Killing Blow special rule).
Do chariots make you immune to one shot special weapons/situations in AoS too?
>>
I know it's probably not very surprising, but the argent shards seem pretty damn big.

Chariots don't really fit seraphon, but a sort of juggernaut/temple being carried by some dinos could be pretty cool.
Sidenote but man 90% of google images when you look up any sort of fantastical concept is now sloppa. Grim.

I think the main gimmick of chariots and the like in aos is that they're (more easily) able to power through and move through hostile units that would usually force them to engage and thus prevent them from moving.
>>97494648
Kino idea
I've seen a fair few idk chariot conversions around (picrel), it seems like a concept that speaks to people. Gw would rather give them 2 extra characters and a spell though.

What do you think the Secret Level AoS episode will be about?
If they stick with the thing that it has to be connected to a video game we're stuck with Realms of Ruin, and by that Stormcast vs Tzeench/Kruleboys/Nighthaunt.
But I hope they are liberal in their connection to games and consider the tabletop to be game enough, and as such have free reigns to do something non stormie focused

GW's decisions frequently defy any conventional understanding. It's why after a couple of years everyone inevitably throws "what makes sense to do" out the window for their predictions and just go with whatever the rumors are.

>Chariots don't really fit seraphon
There are two arguments for seraphon chariots:
one of their warrior gods was said to ride on a chariot
the ancient aliens theme they have going on rests on a book literally called chariots of the gods
in both cases instead of a normal chariot with wheels and pulled by beasts it would have to be some magitech platform, maybe pulled by podracer engines of some kind, like a melee version of the starseer throne for a saurus champion

realms of ruin had a pretty cool story, it wouldn't be a bad idea to connect to that, even if just loosely
>opens with the knights excelsiors purging the settlement, innocents and whatnot, for grimdark
>except a few were secretly disciples of tzeentch, so it wasn't in vain, and so they can reuse tzaangors and the summoner to market this to the people who saw the sm2 episode, and drive "[shit] explained" channels to talk about how it does or does not connect with 40k
>yndrasta drops in, bringing the attention back to the kruleboys, under gobbsprakk, linking to the one dlc this poor game had
>climax of the episode is gobbie summoning kragnos against the stormcasts, we have a few scenes of hype violence, and then kragnos is driven off by some mcguffin (maybe the ratastrophe)
>bonus point for the episode starting with yndrasta's reforging and she dying against kragnos so we have a second reforging scene where the price of immortality is underlined, and maybe in the second arching back to azyr we get a panoramic view of the vermindoom over the realm
it would be self contained, have 'big' names, a simple plot, and a hook or two for having people talk about it

yeah no, nobody wants modern D&D anymore, especially in 40k and failed replacement for Fantasy which JewDubs is trying to force down like the British government trying to put immigrants next to kindergartens.

I don't think it would fit, but I wouldn't mind a war wagon/baggage train style derivative.

Ranged chariot more like a spear chukka would work. That or an elite shaman, maybe with a crew of lesser shamans riding it like the Gobbapalooza

you just know aos will have to compensate for 40k's marines being all men, so the stormcast in the secret level can only be a woman.
the only thing we can hope for is that she's cool instead of the stereotypical girlboss, yndrasta has the potential to be portrayed as a trigger happy psychopathic huntress.
There is a chance for that to come out as something genuinely charismatic and fun.
But it's a faint chance, I know.

For FEC I'm trying to think of a solid alternative to a chariot but everything boils down to basically just a shittier looking black coach. Which funnily enough FEC does technically have "horses" though I wouldn't mind just a massive fuckoff Morbheg nearly terrorgheist with a platform on it's back kinda fitting the chariot bit. But at that point I dunno if it'd still count, since it's just big monster with platform on it's back not a chariot.

Hey now, TOW is flopping pretty hard compared to the successful continuation of Fantasy, Age of Sigmar, but I wouldn't say it failed just yet. They just overestimated how much TWW kiddies were willing to support it compared to actual tabletop gamers (AOS fans).

I don't see GW giving KO a creature pulled chariot, if they ever get any creatures at all so I would imagine that a KO chariot would probably look like a star wars pod racer. Small cockpit with a baloon pulled by two big turbine engines. The average movement with KO is already 12 inches so it's funny to imagine them putting this thing out with like 3 health, 18 inch move and probably a bombing ability like the big boats already have.

>what do you think secret level AoS episode will be about
>What I want
One of the Order factions facing off with FEC, mostly from the FEC perspective
>what will actually happen
Something centered around the stormcucks, probably Neave because they need to clear out the warehouse of those shitty models. I'm sure much like the Sigmar's Toll show it's going to feature two characters talking to each other on a boring background explaining background lore for 80% of it befrore we get a short fight scene and some awful stinger from a stormcast about it being the Age of Sigmar™, buy the models now.
>>

>>97496045
As someone getting into Tzeentch, I'm very mixed on it. On one hand, the new fate points are strictly worse than fate dice in almost every way. On the other hand, the ability to swap out units once per turn could be really spicy. No monster limitation means you can't save Kairos but I could still see this being pretty good. Waiting to see the updated battletome and warscrolls to see how good it'll end up being.
>>
>>97495443
Yeah... Chariots could fit a sort of hero of olde, Green Knight, kind of thing but despite the Arthurian motifs historically fitting chariots it's the anachronistic application of 14th century aesthetics that don't... So maybe it'd make sense? Idk

>Chariots don't really fit seraphon, but a sort of juggernaut/temple being carried by some dinos could be pretty cool.
I wouldn't want to see them get real chariots, but ya a giant Old One artifact/mobile temple would be sick. Like a giant version of an Engine of the Gods or a mini pyramid towed by a couple of mid size dinos.
>>
>>97496051
If its a podracer, then it should also have a special rule that when it does it moves X amount of inches in one direction and deals damage to everything it passes through (with the movement immediately ending if it passes through a terrain feature or monster, dealing extra damage to that.)
>>
>>
>>97494472
>If your army would get a/another chariot, what would it look like? Creature pulling it? Loadout?
SCE: Already has one. I guess theoretically they could get a heavier one, more melee-focused, maybe pulled by some sort of drake-like creature.
COS: Probably just a wood & wrought-iron thing pulled by horses, but I think if they do end up bringing in halflings, a small chariot pulled by, like, war-roosters and crewed by halfling archers would be fun.
OWC: Mostly play Kruleboyz and chariots are sort of antithetical to swamp warfare. It'd probably be a model for Ironjawz and would be some hulking, ramshackle thing pulled by pigs, designed more for slamming directly into the enemy.
Skaven: RAT CHARIOT WITH LIGHTNING GUN
>>
>>97497092
You say chairots are antithetical to swamp warfare, but the britons were notorious for being the last group of peoples in the west to use the damn things. It could also be designed to work on softer ground, so something a bit more like a dogsled or airboat, slides on the ground rather than rolls.
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>97497129
True, but the Britons mostly used their chariots on open ground. Plus, the swamps the Kruleboyz are in are less like the humid marshes of Britain and seem more like the thick swamps & bayous of the American Gulf Coast.

I don't think DoK should get a chariot. The roster has no need for something like that, and lorewise it doesnt make sense. The Khainites love getting into battle and reveling in the blood of their enemies, a chariot defeats that purpose.

Hence why I suggested a sled/hovercraft like alternative. More evenly distributed weight so it can slide on soft ground and float on water if need be. Lets them outmanuver their enemies even more effectively in the swampy terrain, and can be used to transport people they capture.
>>
>>97497835
Honestly, I think that they should just add all the neat white dwarf/warcom mini game modes to the core rulebook. Just extra shit for you to do with your minis. Kill team in 40k used to be like that, before they killed it/brought it back as its own thing.
>>
>>
>>97497677
And a grot operating a rotating magazine for the ballista, like a primitive gatling gun. Not terribly accurate or long range, but the kruleboyz don't care because it shoots lots and they don't really have to do much except sit back and perforate gits.

>explaining lore
Warhammer (any version of it) is at it's best when nothing is explained and they just let visuals do the talking. Why is this guy in power armor carrying a coffin and shooting at a statue? Why are these ghost attacking elves on dinosaurs? Why are these Renaissance dudes fighting goblins riding wolves? Why is this ork playing football against a dwarf? Who cares just enjoy the ride you can spend hours looking up wikis later.
>>
>>97498178
there's a difference between the visuals being sufficient and there being no other worldbuilding.
do you need someone to tell you that dwarf runes are magic? no
is it cool to know why they use runes and how they're different? yes

Nah, they have archers for crying out loud, if they're OK with the blood being an arrow's flight away, they'd love stabbing people with spears from a chariot.
They could do something really fun where the chariot is pulled by other DoKs. Like, maybe a new kind of Scathborn that's bigger and stronger and used for stuff like that, or just a crew of regular Aelves who are punished by running into battle but only so their Sisters can reap the blood and glory

Three books, first one about a stormcast questor who through an oracle or something get to know his brothers still walk the realms and set out to find them.
Second about an OBR commander invading a human country, mostly about the battle, strategy, tactics and combat scenes, but also more mellow parts with some introspective bits where the various souls meshed together in him converse about their situation.
And the third one about a chaos warrior and his warband as they are hunting down stormcast as an act of vengeance for getting left behind all those years ago.
And these three main characters will turn out to be the three brothers, you get the backstory as well as the part where they meet in the final book. Until then there are no real clues they are connected.

Yeah I’m not a fan of how these fate points work. You’ll only see use of them if you’re actively failing in the game. It feels really shit to not get to use your mechanic properly if you’re winning.
A better way to do it would be to get 1 point for a positive action, and 2 for a negative.
It ESPECIALLLY sucks since it’s encouraging you to spend multiple fate points in one go

Model kit production allocation does not necessarily line up with needs or even wants of factions. Nobody likes fyerslayers so no units, everyone likes vampires so 10 new soulblight things. Redundant units and anemic factions both happen because "this is how many model kits you must have in this release wave".

I mean. It’s directly copying TOW again. Why is that a bad thing to you guys though? Half the armies in AoS are a single unit from Fantasy expanded to be its own range. AoS as an IP is built on aping concepts from the Fantasy IP and trying to Frankenstein them with their new and armies.
>>
>>
>>97499828
This may surprise you but aos is actually a sequel to warhammer fantasy. This comes as a shock to many, since AoS' eponymous character, Sigmar, famously bears no resemblance to any characters from fantasy.

The fluff says the dude is on punishment detail for failure so I'm not sure how the concept would work as a sole character. The model is in charge of the dogs and bat things because he fucked up, and the two tall dudes are literally minders relaying info directly to the dudes in charge (not the centaur man). Centaur dude is such a fuck up he is only response for wrangling the dogs and bats. He is lucky he wasn't turned into a death rider mount (which happens to Lieges who REALLY fuck up)

Ogornon here,
Been playing them in a PtG as my first go with them officially and I can (hopefully) sum it up well:
You're very swingy, but your damage is always going to overkill most things but fuckhuge monsters and 40-man bricks. Your saves are useless, but when a model has 4 Wounds and you can heal them often (Feast on Flesh, Greedy Gluttons formation, and Spells/Mawpot)
Gluttons and Ironguts carry the Gutbusters, and you're always going to surprise people with how fast you can be. Ever seen a fat motherfucker run 13", then nail a charge, do 2+ MD, then 50/50 between 20 and 0 dmg? Leadbelchers are cool, but have been useless for shooting. I had a Tyrant and a 4-man Irongut unit cut through about 80% of a Skaven army in 2 rounds with only a 40-man rat brick surviving more than a single fight phase.
You basically play a bunch of heat-seeking missiles. You play carefully until you can charge in and 1-shot them because the alternative is rend 1/2 turning you into a bunch of paste.
It's honestly a fun army if you don't mind gambling on a 4+ to Hit without support.
Pro-tip:
>12-man Glutton brick (4 attacks per, +1 for Champion) for 49 hits
>Slaughtermaster (Great Cauldron - Spinemarrow for +1 Attacks on unit of choice)
>Cast Bloodfeast on Gluttons (+1 Attacks)
>nuke something with 12 fat retards swinging 73 times because they're R1, D2

>find shitty hole-in-the-wall hobby store with the smallest, saddest warhammer section ever
>clearly nobody gives a shit about it and they want to stop stocking it so everything is 20% off
>surely nothing good, right?
>...they had two othar half-kings
oh my god I scored
