Warlords Battlecry is a beloved series of mine and IMO absolutely underrated. And yes, as an elf-fag, played these races the most.
I could write entire essays about their units, heroes and mechanics (based on WB3, last unofficial patch).
Dragon Knights are probably my favorite RTS unit.

This is true to an extent, but Elves having the massive biological, spiritual, intellectual, and societal advantages that they do in most fantasy settings would surely offset this. If you don't need to shit, you don't need sewage workers. If you live 1000 years and are immune to most diseases, you won't need that many doctors. If there are twice the casters as most other races, and a special affinity for nature magic, druids, etc. then farming becomes way easier.

In general, especially in a high fantasy setting where magic is pretty common and quite powerful, you're bound to get homogenous Elven civilizations that are held back only by autism or external factors like world-ending evil sorta like Ulthuan.

The one thing I dislike about male human/female elf art is that, outside of Dragon Age and D&D's Drow, the elf is supposed to be 7 feet tall or more and most humans are manlets that can't breach 6 foot yet the elf is often drawn as shorter.
Wich is bullshit, dwarves, halflings, and goblins already exist for that.

However, they are evil dark elves for sure.

The high elves once fought a massive war against the undead coming from the frozen north. One of the elves was a powerul sorcerer that claimed, they would all perish in that war, unless they used totally not dark demon magic (TM). Most elves refused, and he started a civil war over it. The dark elves lost, but managed to summon the daemon faction itself and bring them to this world, and settled on a nearby island.
