Also, ultimately I see Anglerfish as a CYOA at the end of all CYOA's in a way. To me, you don't necessarily need another one to anchor Anglerfish to, as it is a trap for the Ur-CYOA. The light at the end of all thier tunnels. As the final image of it is of the fish, to me the implication is that choosing any of the 'good' options or 'escape' options are but more figments of its mirror-trap. I wanted a definite positive resolution beyond and outside of it.

What kind of cool abilities would you like to have in a fight? Both for huge boss entities and hordes of weaker chaff. I mean specific techniques and/or passive effects, rather than wider disciplines. For example, making a cutting energy beam rather than the school of necromancy as a whole.

All very good. The techniques themselves will be a bit abstracted to what their shape and effects are. Basically you'll have a choice of eight elements, all with their own stats, to act as a chassis for your build. There are four major enemies that are resistant or vulnerable to certain elements, all of them represented once in each category. Different elements lend well to certain powers, such as Fire for Destroy, or Life for Entangle, but any can be taken with any element. There's just a large learning curve and you're on a limited, if generous time frame.

Been thinking of making a remix of the Black Magic CYOA since it's pretty cool, but most people haven't played it, coz the author added a shit ton of abilities that are just "train 3 years and find out how to make your garden 30% more productive" or "study 7 years to make yourself immune to werewolves, which don't exist anymore". So I'll try to remove all the bullshit clutter spells (which I'm 50 % done with), give people maybe 12 years of spells from the beginning, add pictures to the spells for all you ADHD niggas and maybe add some items from the author's relic CYOA. Don't expect much though, I've only made one CYOA so far (the Hereafter CYOA) and might give up halfway through.

Making the builds sounds a lot more interesting than choosing a premade class. You could have both, a base class with some customization, but just classes are too boring, even more if it's not even fantasy.
