It seems most of the star wars "summer" sets are actually 2027 sets...also no smart bricks for the rest of the world (no info on pokemon ones yet)
>To clarify about the Star Wars sets: The sets are still coming, nothing has changed. People just assumed they were 2026 sets so lego_minecraft_goat is clarifying most are not
https://www.reddit.com/r/Legoleak/comments/1qjagx8/some_of_the_star_wa rs_sets_reported_by_brick_tap/
And it seems retailers won't carry advent calendars anymore, so store exclusive. HP one sold very bad for some reason, Minecraft one is replaced by Marvel.

Anyways to start the thread off, check out these two opaque glow in the dark studs I still have from that Roodaka I got in 2005, plus dark blue cones from the 2007 castle, found them mixed in my dad’s lego collection for some reason but glad I have them, even though one of the studs is definitely worse for ware. Sorry for bad image, just wanted to get a pic of them real fast while up here.

>And it seems retailers won't carry advent calendars anymore, so store exclusive.
This is actually really bad because it likely means I won't be able to get them in October for $25 each anymore.
>HP one sold very bad for some reason
Probably because the builds were particularly abysmal even by advent calendar standards.
>Minecraft one is replaced by Marvel
Disappointing but expected. Marvel seems to have been replaced with a revolving slot where it's Marvel one year and then some other theme the next. I really liked the Minecraft calendar last year and the Marvel one has been hit or miss so I guess we'll see if it's any good. I honestly wish they would do Harry Potter every other year as well so that we could have two slots for alternate themes. I bet an Animal Crossing calendar would go hard.
>>
>>11683849
I hope that the advent calendar is bunk. I absolutely will not be ordering one and part of the fun is picking it up on Black Friday. I also enjoy getting one on discount mid December to countdown to the kid’s birthday in a week.
Just finished the extra spare parts droid in the star wars advent calendar yesterday.

I know you're trying to play it up for laughs and engagement, but you might actually be retarded. You've been working on this one set for what, one week? Two weeks? You've rebuilt it multiple times, you have clear instructions with simple pictures and a key on every page showing you the exact size of every axle you need and still you somehow can't get this CHILDRENS TOY working as a fully grown adult. I don't built much technic, but I did assemble this Mars rover when when I was 10 in a single afternoon. God forbid you work in anything more complex then flipping patties or turning a shovel, because you clearly couldn't figure it out.

Whilst out searching for more frogs yesterday I bought my first Friends set. I've heard it can be a decent theme from anons here before. I liked the selection of all the transparent and plant pieces. The axolotls are cute, but I prefer the classic style of lego animals over the Friends style. I guess I could still see these working as plushies in a moc. I'm not a fan of the brown minidolls at all. I'm not really sure what to do with them now. I could give them to my niece but then I'd feel like I'm pushing propaganda onto her. I'm guessing these minidoll things don't sell for much online, I might just bin them.

Back from the store, a LOT of oddities here today, managed to get this throwbots case for free after finding both its parts in the bionicle box, but also a ton of pneumatics stuff in there including a super flexible hose and a switch, and just part of a corpse of a bohrok laying in the regular lego pile, some of the stuff was super dusty and gross but should be easy enough to clean, along with getting some of those big lightsaber pieces and a complete hero factory handcuffs plus four jetpacks. All for 40 bucks, eating good today

I cannot fathom ever buying a minifigure with no stand or accessories for even $10 when you can get it sealed new for around $15. Especially for him I want the accessories because you can't get the wolfpack livery shield anywhere else. I don't understand why people even list them for ridiculous prices like $40 when they know that the market values them at around $15. It reminds me of how people would buy the LKC when it was still in stock for retail price and try flipping it for $500-600. What is the point of that.
>>
>>11685285
>I don't understand why people even list them for ridiculous prices like $40
they do that because they are lazy, and not in a hurry to sell. just set a price and forget about it. the logic is that eventually all the cheaper ones will sell out, and yours will be up next, even at $40 (unlikely, sure)
three years from now, they get the email saying "order placed for your minifig!" and they get probably get upset it only sold for $40 then.... (still, not very likely.)
>>11685278
>I cannot fathom ever buying a minifigure with no stand or accessories for even $10 when you can get it sealed new for around $15
sometimes you just want the torso or face or hair piece for a MOC character, and argh nobody is selling the pieces, only the full minifig (very common) so at least you save a few bucks
(I'd rather get a new one, too, but I understand the saving-bucks part, at least)

I just sort of assume they don't even make it to shelves anymore. Goodwill has largely turned to price gouging, and any even halfway popular, semi-valuable collectible just gets put on their auction site anyway.
Maybe tubs of beat-up, chewed-on, 40 year old generic bricks might make it to shelves. I can't imagine most people would want something like that, but then again we do have people here that dumpster dive for cursed gypsy Legos.

>Omgbricks app has a scanner
if you don't feel like downloading an App, simply use the camera on your phone. find the small little QR Code-looking square on the bottom of the box, and hold it up to your camera.
if you do it right, a series of numbers will pop up, as your phone "decodes" the square.
there's a bunch of numbers, but you're looking for the last two in the first bunch of them. ignore the rest. match them on this pic to figure out who's inside! scan a couple of 'em, it should be easy to figure out which numbers you're looking for

They put up usually full-sized tubs at $55 at my local goodwill. I'll usually see one every week or two.
Without fail they've been filled with 90s-late 2000s minifigs.
Best finds have been a rebels Thrawn minifig, classic Castle horse barding, and a light-up darth vader (wasn't working but eh).
If I can see minifigs through the sides I'll always bite and it has yet to fail me.

The MTT doesn't even look anything like the films. We know anyone getting that set just wants it for the Aayla Secura figure because they think she's sexy, don't bother because you can just buy her on bricklink for like 15 bucks or you can get the older, better figure that still has a cleavage line for slightly more. It's a lot for a single minifig but it's a way better deal than buying that overpriced set.

Yes, I realize that the frogs don't come that way, but it will be fun to track down the parts. Has anyone come up with any other good recipes for any of the other animals?
For the frog knight, I'm thinking about the torso that has the small blue pendent. Can anyone tell me what to search for on ebay?
And where to get black lego head?
Sorry for asking to be spoonfed. I'm just really excited because my son is going to love this when I surprise him. He loves frogs and loves his castle lego. This is going to be such a slam dunk.
Thanks to everyone for telling

Torso is the dragon paladin from the D&D cmf.
I used a venom head from the jewel heist polybag turned around because I’m lazy and didn’t want to go searching for a plain black one. One could also potentially use a red head for a red mouth.
The dragon knight could be prohibitively expensive I haven’t looked since I got mine.

Brickset has a bad habit of putting up "speculation" articles that actually tun out to be teases towards upcoming sets (they've done this with Star Trek and Medieval Town Square before). In this recent article, they suggested: Dragon Ball, Studio Ghibli, Hello Kitty, Spongebob, Airbender, and Kpop Demon Hunters. We already know KPDH is coming, so I imagine the returning theme will be either Spongebob or Airbender (Though I would want Airbender, and I don't care about Spongebob at all). It also wouldn't shock me if the new theme was one of those three.

>Brickset has a bad habit of putting up "speculation" articles that actually turn out to be teases towards upcoming sets
that's just a coincidence similar to what Fortune Tellers do
for example:
Dragon Ball Z [fans] will autistic-ally spout hundreds of OMG SETS! Lego could do, but realistically, Dragon Ball Z is 99% characters and 1% that one island house place, and only craters in the desert. there is nothing for "A Theme!" for DBZ
but, DBZ would be nice for a CMF series, similar to what they did for the Spider-Mans. the top 12-16 characters could account for 95% of the fan base. hope your favorite is Mr "over 9000!" guy (I'm teasing Vegeta is the best!)
how's that for a prediction?

>Nevermind the dozens of motorcycles, hovercrafts, mechs, capsule airplanes/ships/etc. Toriyama designed for chapter title pages.
There are plenty of iconic places and vehicles to build, and that's just from DBZ. Anyone who says otherwise has either never seen it, or isn't creative enough to even imagine all the things that could be turned into sets.

>There are plenty of iconic (DBZ) places and vehicles to build,
nobody knows those things.
Star Wars also has plenty of locations and things that never get any merch, because common people don't know about Lady Proxima's Lair, wherever Jack Black and Lizzo were, or even something more iconic like the Droid Control Ship over Naboo, there are no "X-Wings" in Dragon Ball
Yeah I guess Lego can do a massive brick-built $650 Dragon for the adults to buy for scalping. honestly, that's not a bad idea. you got that, and the house on the island where they trained. outside of Gulp Shitto stuff, DBZ is just characters, fighting on either a grey square or desert craters

as much as I LOVED the Netflix One Piece show, I have to admit DBZ is Waaaayyyy more popular.
Lego messed up by making the OP sets so expensive. they got greedy, and I hope they learned some lessons watching the OP sets being the only sets left on the shelves after Xmas.
it will be interesting to see if KDH can maintain relevance until the eventual release, but I honestly think DBZ Legos would sell at a pace faster than OP, at least (unless Lego gets greedy again by making the sets too expensive)

Again, spoken like people who have never seen DBZ, or are just being intentionally obtuse.
At bare minimum, they could make Kame house, Trunks' time machine, a buildable Shenron, Frieza's ship, and then anything else I chose.
That's why I chose what I did, since everything I listed are the focus of at least two major arcs. If you're even tangentially aware of not just Dragonball, anime as a whole, you've at least seen all of those things.
Coincidentally enough, I don't even really care if they do or don't make any Dragonball sets, but even being sort of aware of it most people know these. Probably far more awareness of those than the fucking live action Netflix OP sets.

I always keep an eye out for pic related and this happens a a regular basis. If you’re from a country with regular trash collection (which I am assuming most /lg/ anons are) the chances of finding Lego would be slimmer. We also don’t have as much way to pass on used toys. No bricklink, FB marketplace, or Craigslist here. There is also a paranoia of appearing “poor” that keeps people from accepting hand me downs which is kind of silly. The rest of Europe knows we’re poor anyway.

Sorry if this isn't the place to ask, but how would I go about finding and buying specific 3rd-party/bootleg LEGO minifigures? I saw these Yukinoshita figures on Instagram and instantly knew I wanted them, but there wasn't any other info about them. I managed to find a seller on Aliexpress that listed her for $7 and some change with the promo pics being slightly erased (probably to avoid legal issues?). The shop's been around since November and has decent ratings and reviews with pics, but I don't wanna risk getting scammed if I don't have to. Any help?

$60 is way too little $$$ for Ankha
Lego is holding on to her for the eventual $400+ Animal Crossing set (in maybe 4 more years)
I passed on the Tom Nook set, I don't even know if I want that guy, even for $5. I know he's a main character, but he comes across as a money-grubbing jerk most of the time. at least this time the duplicate was in a more-expensive set, but it does feel like another wasted opportunity to give us yet another new character. booo.

that D&D set was a slap in the face to all D&D fans
$360. included only 6 Minifigures (skeletons and brick-built monsters don't count, and you know it)
Lego pulled the 12 other characters from that set, and sold them for $5 each, extra. all 12 of them should have come INCLUDED in the $360 set, yet Lego pulled more money out of the fans.
Lego could have EASILY made 12 more, different, characters for the CMF series.
so you got basically ONE $420 set.
the only thing good about it, was that if you were too poor to buy the whole thing, you could buy a few of the figures for only $5 a piece.
of course, the minifigs designs were amazing. there's no denying that part. it would be cool to see more D&D for that alone.

I got the Lego Van and Semi truck. I kinda like em but they're also so expensive. Haven't built the Semi trailer, but the cab is so fucking huge. It's like they're making real sized vehicles for the minifigs. I mean they look slick like a real model but they're missing real Lego soul. Like the van is nice but it's $30 for what is essentially one vehicle that could have been made with 1/5th of the pieces. Also it's nice getting non licensed sets. I just wish the hair pieces and faces were not so modern. Like the truck coming with a "Karen" haircut. One of these days I'm just going to count all my yellow figs and buy an equal amount of classic :) faces and old style hair pieces.
