So Spongebob is back under Icons, are you guys happy? I wish the brought it back as a playscale theme not adult sets...oh well
>>

Why the fuck would anyone be happy about it coming back under the worst theme? I am glad to at least be getting something again but I know it's going to piss me off as it's probably going to be AFOLslop with no play features and shit minifigures.

We heard you like minifigures and molded pokemon so we put a couple inside a pokeball build of thousands of pieces so we can charge you this much

Anons I bought a set on bricklink that was supposed to be a partially open box with sealed bags. Well one of the bags was opened and it was even missing a piece. Idk if it just fell out or if this seller raided it for that piece and then tried to pass if off as sealed. Obviously I'm not happy but when I contact him what do I even ask for? Refunding the cost of piece new is like five cents. I feel like he should compensate me more for how much he lied.

Predictions on what minifigs will be included? I really hope it's not under Icons and it's its own theme and we get Kame House next, Frieza ship, Capsule Corp, etc. So much cool stuff. Vegeta as Great Ape diorama would go hard.

Kek, well done. I remember when lego just started this faggot shit with simpsons. I liked the show and wanted to get the set, thinking: ok, I can branch out a bit from the star wars theme, it won’t be that expensive since it’s so rare. But now we keep getting lego sets for every possible show/movie/book/nook/cum/soup. It just ain’t designed for you to be able to keep up. Also, since lego began overextending it just feels more cheap as a brand. Playmobile is gaining appeal in my eyes in some regards.

My favorite "lol-Lego" thing regarding the smart brick is probably that they're shoving green energy and electric car shit into everything but then have the sets and brick include specific gasoline-related functions and sounds.

I have the Blacktron Renegade, and aside from not using the old space boxart style (which they did for the other Blacktron remake set), it is a good reimagining of the original, scaled up to the size of the later Lego space capital ships. It also has actual play features like you'd expect from classic space sets (the detachable modules are taken straight from the original, and the ability to drop down a ground vehicle is a more refined version of a playfeature used in the Spyrius Saucer Centurion).

Yes they are that popular. Yes lego does only have them in stock for a few hours and yes only the legs and only the shields and only the helmets and only the torsos.
It sucks. My advice: there are discord servers you can join where a bot will notify you when parts are in stock. That’s what I did. Once I got my snek knights I left the server and I don’t remember the name but look one up on youtube. There will be ecelebs shilling it but this is a pump and dump scheme. we've already done the math, only a few people per each of The Lego Stores need to buy a $400+ set in order to make a million dollars. and it's likely that each town has at least 5 or more crazy rich sloppity-slop-slurpers. there's literally nothing we can do about it, and as frustrating as it sounds, you can't blame Lego for max-ing profits
there were pre-order release limits for the $650 Pokemon sets which sold out almost instantly and added up to like 50 million.

For two years we’ve had to see that stupid Fortnite blackout image “leak” with “soon!” And then a shitpost about “which dbz characters do you want to see as minifigs?!” Then a pre made copypasta two paragraphs long about it. I’m not digging through the archives but feel free it’s all there… OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN.
>>
>>11728631
I seriously doubt it. Starting with dragon ball would, ironically, be like launching the Pokemon line with the gen 3 starters or something.
As for the logo, I don’t know that it signifies anything. It’s the dragon ball franchise, Z is just a part of that franchise (and the manga itself doesn’t even distinguish between Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z — it’s all just Dragon Ball).
Could be that someone picked that iteration of the logo in particular because it features shenron and its announcing a shenron set. Who knows.

Just wanted to drop my two cents on all this Lego Icons and other things like that. I really don't get it. To me part of the fun of Lego is the minifigs. They are like universally compatible action figures. Crazy crossovers and just inventive character design is part of the fun. The buildings and vehicles are all to the same scale so suddenly Iron Man could fight Darth Vader, Chase McCain could arrest Mr. Krabs, and all kinds of seemingly incompatible franchises and suddenly meet and all be at the same scale. But all these Icons and 18+ sets are just model kits. If you want to build a model, get a regular model kit, it looks more accurate anyway. I loved the minifig scale 3-in-1 sets because these were builds meant for minifig play. I can also see the appeal of original building with Lego to make something wild or unique. But Icons and 18+ don't feed that idea. Maybe I'm just oldfagging here but it really feels like Lego has gone pretty far off track with what they were good at.
>>
>>
>>11728665
I agree, Lego used to have a consistent look and feel that was more than just everything's made of Lego bricks. Like they had a shared design language and balance between having interesting forms and accommodating the figs/play features. They are also mixing scales now in weird ways like in the recent Ashoka shuttle set. Sadly a lot of adult fans think the fun is over when they reach the end of the instruction manual which is so ass backwards and sad. They have no imagination and Lego doesn't make it easy for them to get better because the sets are so fucking overdesigned and impossible to disassemble let alone modify.

>if they had a 10 dollar set with at least a fig from every IP
next time you're in a store that sells them, look at the Funko POP! Figure section. imagine each one was a Lego minifig version of that character. no tiny brick-build with it, just the minifig. $10 each. how many would you buy?
Funko does it. clearly Lego could do it, if they wanted to.

The logo used in the leak is from a mid-90s dub. The original dragon ball logo looked like pic related. The leaker probably just picked something arbitrarily not lifted the logo off the DB wiki
>>
>>11728665
So? It's not like minifigs stop existing just because some sets don't use them. Are you retarded?
>I loved the minifig scale 3-in-1 sets because these were builds meant for minifig play.
Weird they didn't come with minifigs, then.
Pissing and moaning about scale in Lego is a wild take. You're clearly just chafed that not every set fits into your autistic guidelines of what makes Lego "fun".

I hope it'll be cool and all, but it's wild to me to see even Spongebob of all the things go the way of the single expensive set at a time License.
Yeah none of the Bikini Bottom sets before were very good, but 3818 Bikini Bottom Undersea Party did what it needed to with a couple of ok builds for the houses, a great Minifigure selection and a decent price.
Do a fans of various random properties really want to shell out $200+ for the pleasure of having a LEGO representation of their favourite theme? I guess the answer is yes, and I'm in the minority who does not.

how is that not completely transparent at this point? it's a ridiculous pattern, over and over. Lego controls the narrative on all stages.
if it was a "real" LEAK it would be like, the full minifig being sold on eBay for $20,000 that somebody snuck out of the factory, a year in advance.
>>11728688
>Lego would be fools not to do it.
um......
>>
>>
>>11728695
I don't think you are in the minority that does not, but the majority that does not. But that is the point of marketing high value sets for niche properties. The fan bases are relatively limited so they aim to go for smaller numbers of high value sets rather than larger numbers of low value sets. I read somewhere that the audience for Spongebob is about 25% 18-34 year old without kids, with likely similar numbers of other adults with kids. They could aim sets at children but that would mean more small sets need to be sold and they could also cannibalise sales of their other sets aimed at kids. So they aim for high value sales to a minority of adults.

Thanks, I think Tan fits along all the other sands like blue and green, while Dark Tan feels like the yellow equivalent of the Dark/Earth/Metru colors.
Maybe in that case the "sand" version of orange would be medium orange? (though may not have that much visual similarity, otherwisew was just being discontinued by the year 2000)
I think there was some chart that put Brown/Reddish Brown (let's assume they are the same) as Dark Earth Orange or something

There is a real dark yellow color (picrel) but it got used for jack shit outside of duplo (shame) since it’s a rather nice color and would fit yellow terracotta perfectly, also some of the browns are internally classified as shades of orange
>>
>>
>>11728715
>>11728713
I wonder which would have looked better for an Av-Metru, the dark tan or this literal dark yellow. Little hypotheticals are fun to think over but I feel the dark tan fits more for Po vs anything as a complimentary color.
>>
>>11728707
Ok well whatever. Even if we want to schiz-out, my point is the same. Whoever slapped the image together (whether it’s a leaker or two Lego marketers in a leaker’s trench coat) probably just lifted the first logo they found on the dragon ball wiki.
The use of this logo (which was, again, from a mid-90s English dub) doesn’t necessarily signify this is going to be an OG dragon ball set. It’s absolutely going to be DBZ, because that’s where the biggest millennial childfree yuppie nostalgiab8 market is.

>DBZ instead of DragonBall
>because that’s where the biggest millennial childfree yuppie nostalgiab8 market is.
that's why they did Star Trek TNG instead of Original Kirk/Spock. it clearly makes sense that the orange-uniform Saiyan Goku is 1000% more recognizable than kid-Goku
this is a good lesson for the future, for one of us (which one? I don't know! lol) given that the leak patterns appear to be consistent. the pro-leak-employee may be using assets given to them by the art department, or they may be tasked with goggling them. my opinion is that they need to manage expectations, and use the correct logo to match the product, but it is entirely possible that they don't know any better, and just think "what? it's DragonBall, right? is there a difference?"
>>
>>11728724
Av-Matoran having the multi color gimmick is a good thing imo because it allows for more unique color combos you'd normally not associate with a specific Metru/Koro (ie Takua's blue and red). Shame they just did basic colorations for the ones we got in 2008.

Oh that looks nice. I was mostly focusing on colors that are in circulation today
Thinking it that way it seems way more orderly. Though some of the purples and oranges seem to be wherever was space,
BTW, one criteria I had, is that during the 2000s through the 2010s, basic brick buckets went from having the primordial Red, Blue, Yellow and Green (plus Black and White), to adding Md. Blue, Lime, Dk. Purple and Orange. At times pink too (either trough dark or pink, but maybe a latter one had both)
So it went down to
>Standard Color
>Color in the same hue but distinct enough (along some historical precedent)
>Dark/Earth
>Sand
>Some other hue
And I may add
>Yet another hue ??? (no particular criteria)
>Very Light/Bright Light hue (maybe BL Orange should go here, I feel it's more prominent than the other BL colors which is why I first put it above)
>Neon (this category is far too new)
For the green leftovers, maybe it would work with making a new collumn for lime. Maybe with Bright Green taking the place below green as it long hsa been used for accessories and baseplates before seeing some usage in bricks in the last years

I don’t understand. These aren’t particularly glossy images. It’s almost always text on a black background usually with a generic, badly cropped (sometimes unofficial) image around which the text is haphazardly wrapped.
What about this screams “professional” to you?
>>

>leaks are not planned
>companies hate them
You’re either retarded or outing yourself as a “leaker” Lego insider. “Leaks” follow a set predicable pattern and it is exhausting. If they hated the “leaks” they wouldn’t do it with the same 4 percent Gaussian blur every time.
Actual leaks get shut down hard because companies love to control their own advertising and branding. Look at that guy that got the Pinkertons on his ass by wizards of the coast. If there were any real leaks they could easily track it down. I bet Lego has the best nanny software installed on every company machine and they know what get saved when by who.
>>
>>11728783
Foolish Gweilo. Only through the study of the way the Wuxing of Black White Blue Red Yellow ramificates into the greater palette, phasing through the deceptions of newer colors, can you then cultivate Lego mastery.
>>
>>11728795
Is the pattern literally just “leak released X months before set, more details formalized as set’s release date nears”? Couldn’t your expertly recognized pattern also apply to genuine leaks?
And if Lego is so chill about leaks, why do they issue cease and desists or DMCAs or whatever else, or why do they penalize and cut off Lego influences who dabble in leaks? Even people like what’s his name (the guy who whines endlessly about clones), guys who aren’t actually formally affiliated with lego and can’t even lose partner status, are terrified of including leaked images in their videos.
>>
Why is anyone surprised or even that mad that shills dump leaks and shit? It is par for the course when they also do shit like send free sets to LAN "influencers" to glaze the new sets, and pay off journalists to hype up shit like the shartbrick sets. They pump so much money and resources into this that some rando dropping images 6 months out feels like nothing.
>>
>>11728806
There’s clearly nothing I can say that’ll convince you. It’s been repeated here many times and I’m too lazy to look it up or half hazardously retype it again.
Prove it. Someone post a leak that isn’t already reposted on Reddit or some wall of “rumored” sets.
Last time we got even close was the deku tree and even that still followed the same pattern.
>>
>>11728806
>why do they issue cease and desists or DMCAs or whatever else, or why do they penalize and cut off Lego influences who dabble in leaks?
that's exactly why you can tell it's a real employee who constantly doesn't get lawyer'd-up
I did it once before, so I'll try to do it quick it again, but the pattern is so consistent you could put a calendar to it, if you cared to measure it.
1: code-name {might be ___!}
2: theme reveal! (maybe -rumor- lol)
3: list of set numbers, future release estimate
4: list of set numbers with piece counts, maybe minifig list, release date known
5: blurry images! (crazy blur!!)
6: corporate desk with one or two new pieces (this part is recent) very crisp pics
7: slightly-less blur images? maybe some kind of event photos?
8: official images released to news press, this is the diversity-caveman studio apartment clear pics
9: release date (Month) 1
I might have missed a step, but it's been constant for about a dozen years at this point
>>11728811
>Why is anyone surprised or even that mad that shills dump leaks and shit?
this is going to sound "corporate" but whatever. with the decline of standard television and magazines and stuff, modern society is desperate to figure out what counts as "advertising" and... we get what we get
>>
>>11728822
Dude, I’m not invested one way or the other on the LQ (leaker question). Right now, my position is that it’s unlikely these leaks come from a formal, authorized shill as part of an ongoing marketing campaign.
On the other hand, you seem deeply (even emotionally) invested in your position. This anti-leak campaign appears to be a not insignificant aspect of your personality. It seems, at least from where I’m standing, you’re far more dug into your position than I am. I’d also note that you’ve positioned Lego as both skillfully Machiavellian and completely bumbling at the same time, and you flit between these positions to explain away evidence that ought to run counter to your view — all roads lead to Rome, for you.
These could be formal, sanctioned leaks, I genuinely don’t know, but there’s enough contra-indicative evidence to suggest otherwise. But I’m open to your position, I’m just not convinced by “muh patterns.”
>>11728826
>vague leaks become clearer and more detailed as release date nears

my apologies. I've been told before that my emails read as if I'm angry while typing them. not sure how to stop that though, (I think it's because I tend to over-explain things. like this explanation, for example! lol)
but ultimately, I don't care. I actually like "playing the game" somewhat. I do like the recent upgrade to corporate desk-photo, it seems more like a real thing that would be leaked.
and I'm not closed to thinking they might not be genuine "leaks" either. but the patterns are so obvious at this point, I feel the odds are very low.

I think you missed the point I was trying to make. I liked the imaginitve nature of building around minifigs. Make a minifig of yourself and suddenly it's you in flying the plane or driving the car. Like playing with Hot Wheels as a kid but a bit more personal. Now your specialized action figure is sitting in the driver's seat. Take the head of that minifig and put it in on a space body, suddenly you are the space man. That was part of what I liked about the last City Space wave. I came up with my own cast of characters to have space adventures in those colored suits. Even the printing on the back made it look like a built-in jetpack, so now they can fly without the big air tank piece.
But Icons and 18+, you might as well just be Duckbricks and hang it on a wall or shove it behind other models on overcrowded shelves.

NTA but I get what you mean. I have a similar mindset in that if I see a set, I imagine what else I could build around it. Be it a building, landscape or similar. Each set gives me more and more ideas. So the roleplaying aspect you are describing goes hand in hand with mocing.
The Duckbricks syndrome of hoarding sets by putting them on a shelf and forgetting about them goes far deeper I think. The sets are build in a way that discourages building anything else out of the pieces you get, because they use all kinds of weird colors inside.
Icons is LEGO for normies, not for people that already are into LEGO. Adults did buy sets before they were put into ugly black boxes, except it were sets for kids. Thats what AFOOLS don't want to admit.

fake news
sowwy. as long as there are $20 and under sets, kids will get them
is it cruel to dangle more-desirable sets in front of them that are un-obtainable? yep. those kids will miss out. but, they will grow into adults who will remember that pain, and feel the need to purchase all the $800 sets they were denied in childhood. Lego is invincible

what's going to be THE THING that Lego crosses the line with?
if Lego is making sets for "adults" then do it.
make sets FOR adults!
the time has passed for The Walking Dead, or Game of Thrones. but something has to be the thing that Lego does as 100% for adults
Fisher-Price Little People did it already, and those are for freaking babies.
if I had to guess, I would say some kind of CMF with horror movie monsters. Alien, Predator, Robocop... things kids kinda know about, but are still from rated R movies (just a guess, some people might say the Queer Eye set already counts lol)

Then contact the seller and be like "Hi, I received the package but X piece is missing."

I really like the new dragon ninja for 2026. It feels like an evolution of having pet dragons, summoning elemental dragons, to using dragon martial arts to literally turning into the dragons. I wish the minifigures had a piece similar to the Vidiyo dragons or Dragonborn instead of a new mask piece. I really suspect that Ninjago creators are scalies, because this is literally furry TF.

>Why the fuck are his eyes fucked up?
it's been pointed out before, the short-answer is that Lego has "design standards" when a character has noted eyes with an odd color, they are required to do the hollow-eye-color thing.
Data has unique gold eyes, so the minifig needs to show that. I'm not saying I agree with that, but that's the answer I heard somewhere

I think the torso+legs are stuck together because they're not a standard leg assembly, the hip piece is designed with a different style of attachment because the coil unit takes up more space within the torso's interior.
No idea about the warning signs on the tiles

Here’s the story apparently:
“The large collection my 83 year old Father and I put together over 10 years or so to help pay for his grandkid's college (780 sets and over 1200 minifigs) was consigned to a shop, that the parent corporation seized, and they refuse to give us back our collection, and in fact are actively selling it in store.”
They apparently had tens of thousands of dollars tied up in this, and handed it all over to some fucking reseller store.
I’m all for “alternative investments” or whatever, but imagine having all your savings tied up in fucking plastic blocks and, on top of that, entrusting all ~$70,000 of those blocks to some scumbag Lego pawn shop lol. Not that these guys should’ve been scammed, but my god, have some fucking sense.

Thats not even the worst part. As seen in the video shooting another object with a 2nd Smart Brick does not require aming at it. It's literal false advertising. Lego Super Mario doesn't look that bad anymore compared to this.
>>
>>
>>11730805
This was the most shocking to me
Didn't the marketing material say that smart bricks are capable of determining the precise position and orientation of other objects in the smart network?
Yet what we got is just basic proximity detection, and the orientation of the brick itself
I can't tell whether this was intentionally deceptive marketing, or the marketing people just fundamentally don't understand what was explained to them by engineers

Consignment is like, how a person like me or you can drop something off and sell it through a business, and you get the money, but the store you sell it through collects a portion of it as like a finder's fee. I'm guessing those people dropped off their sets and the B&M kept them and dipped or sold them and dipped with the money.
Anyway, I've been in Bricks and Minifigs twice, and probably 80% of their prices are over even eBay. Funny enough, the most recent time I was there was just yesterday. I saw a dad and two kids come in to sell some sets, and they gave the kids $15 for $130-ish worth of sets.

One of the most telling things to me is that another channel called Brick Fanatics actually spent like half of the review letting his kids play with the Smart Brick sets. Sure, you can have a bunch of adults talking about how bad the Smart sets are, but if kids were enjoying them, then they were hitting the intended audience.
They were actually enjoying the smart play features at first, but by the end of the play session, they were just flying the ships around making their own noises over the smart brick noises anyway. By the second day, they went back to playing with their other lego sets, and by the third day, with some urging from the dad, they played with the sets, but without the smart brick, and at the end of it all when they were asked what they liked about the kids said they only sort of liked the fact that you could have dog fights with the ships.
Ironically, the best things they liked about the sets where that they were downsized vehicles, and it was easier for them to swoosh the ships. So hilariously, the only thing they liked about the smartbrick was that its inclusion was that it made the sets easier to build and play with since they were gimped to accommodate the smart brick features.

Something else that's telling:
Almost EVERY reviewer so far that was at least somewhat positive or optimistic received the sets for free.
Hell, nearly all of the 5 star reviews on Lego's own German site are marked with "product received for free" besides a single "LEAF LEGO ALLEIN, YOU HÄTERS!!1!" review and another nondescript "fast shipping, good service" one.

Lego has always sent the LAN members the sets for free. Most of them are obviously super apologetic toward any bad or negative facets to any sets. Most of them will only vaguely and lightly call a set overpriced, because Lego will kick them out of the LAN if they talk too negatively about sets.

>Fuck Lego is sending these chuds FREE 600 dollar sets? Wtf?
if you think the reviewers are getting the better end of the deal, you're wrong. I'm not going to map out the whole path because I'm too lazy and nobody wants to read the essay, but this is basically Lego "paying" for advertising. for Lego, it's virtually free. something that used to cost A LOT in video production and TV commercial air-time, is all being done for the price of a few sets. it's insane.
it's mind blowing how the "system" works, most "complaints" by the reviewers boil down to "it's a great set but costs too much." and all Lego likes hearing is "it's a great set"
and the reviewers clue Lego in with free advise! you say kids love the smaller-size X-Wing! great! now we know! next year, get ready for $130 combo set with 3 smaller-sized ships!
all that for one free set? yep. okay I wound up typing more than I thought. lol thanks for reading my blog post

Sure, but the point is, you're not going to be getting a terribly unbiased opinion watching someone who not only didn't pay for the item, but also has to walk on eggshells and not necessarily be all that truthful lest the risk losing their LAN status.
>>
>>11731116
Exactly, also alot of reviewers who are starting might be more inclined to kiss Lego's ass to get on the sweet list. I cant even blame theme people for doing this is all. There should definitely be some kind of law that requires reviewers to disclose if they are on this kind of list. All we can really do about it because why wouldnt corporations and reviewers do this shit? Its mutually beneficial and we the normal person are the only ones really negatively effected.

my issue with it is that the lame 2 in 1 does nothing to increase the value, just the price. having it commit in either direction game-wise would have been better for price and execution, with a more concise figure line up. like if they had that hermit that gives you the glider for the BoTW one or Saria if it were OoT.
>>
>>11730896
Don't forget that when they only make 10k of a highly desirable GWP, 1k of those are going out to LAN influencers who didn't have to pay. So you get faster sell out times and higher aftermarket prices as a direct result of LAN.
>>
>>11731222
Yeah, I didn’t buy it because I don’t really care all that much about BotW, and like a quarter of the pieces were dedicated to that build. Also I wasn’t all that impressed with the OoT deku. Ganon was a day1 buy for me, even though it’s arguably even less fairly priced
>>
>>
>>11731249
Its roughly 8% of the pieces in the base, pretty flat and mostly large pieces. everything after bag 1 is building details and creatures. Not like Pogermans where there's around 2400 pieces (more than Venusaur and 3x Charizard's pieces) in bases. I think its pretty lean for a terrain build, in like with dioramas.

The smart bricks were entirely torpedoed by the decision to include the sound/program data on the NFC chips instead of the brick itself. That's why they can't do accurate sounds or voicelines, the NFC chips can only hold about 1 kB so they have to store them in their custom midi-like format which the brick plays like a pianola.
It would be better if the brick would connect to your phone via bluetooth and you could use an app to customise the programs/sounds, but the smart bricks still come preloaded with the relevant set's sounds in case you can't use the app. That way they could still use the Star Wars sounds in the Star Wars sets only without making the smart bricks themselves permanently locked to one set only. It would even encourage creativity where you can make your own programs for your own creations, instead of just "This brick acts like Darth Vader's TIE Fighter when it's on the TIE Fighter tile". It could be a bit like Mindstorms but with light/sound instead of robotics.
And yes, they would presumably have preset sounds and stock sound effects only on the app so you can't make your legos say nigger and the video goes viral on Xitter, at least until someone jailbreaks it.

Is it? €119.99 for 1000 pieces is still way too expensive in my book. Got this recently from a large eBay buy. I was wondering if anyone knew where it was from. I just used it as part of a brainbot minifig I wanted to make.
>>

The torso and legs are from Dr. Oswald's fig here. Just wish I could have gotten the monkey body as well. Thought it could be a way the brainbot leaves his secure area. Smaller body he won't miss if it gets blown up.

were both my posts. Just wanted to show the rest of the idea I had for a gold robot. The faux circuit patterns on that gold armor seemed perfect for a robot.
Also thought this helmet would help bring the whole thing together as well. I had considered a gold wheelchair as well, meant to help convey he is for thinking, not action. Does anyone know how to build around a wheelchair piece to make it more like a hovering throne?

I don't think there's any reason you couldn't make your own custom Taylor Swift minifig, it's not like you'd need some kind of iconic outfit or face or hairstyle or anything.
there's plenty of official Lego celebrities already available to choose from, too

This is the real way LAN makes lego money. It's not reviews/exposure. It's normalizing huge hauls and convincing people that once a set is built you should leave it on a shelf somewhere and never touch it again so you constantly need new Lego to keep building.

I meant that because Lego didn't say anything about it on Mario Day, usually they'd drop a teaser for the next wave of course building and since we know all starter sets are set to retire in June with all the other sets in July it seems to be dead.

that's gotta be 100% on-purpose
Lego did a few legit Overwatch sets
so that sword is either a mold they worked on for more Overwatch sets, that never got made, but they had the mold so they might as well use it for something...
or one of the designers is still an Overwatch fan (which might be how they pitched the IP in the first place) and knew they wanted to do swords, and snuck-in the Overwatch-looking design (it's from my dreamzz! hurhur says the designer)

I'm not a fan of Lego "cheating" by creating a new piece for something like this. obviously they need to make specific hair pieces, or hats, or even weapons for the minifigs, but something this big feels like... meh. I get that they use the new piece a lot, so it's worth-while, but it still seems like a cheat.
also more LMAO that:
-adult Luffy,
-WEARING the hat
-with non-stretchy arm torso
STILL locked into the $140 ship set (or $330 bigger set)
you can also get adult Luffy, wearing the hat on his head, with non-stretchy arms, by combo-ing the $55 and $80 sets, so minimum $135 for the freaking main character. Lego sucks and they know it

Wtf is wrong with Lego? It's like if they started doing star wars sets in 1999 WITHOUT minifigures and only started releasing star wars minifig sets in 2006.
>>
>>11732344
Apparently we are gerting a teaser later Today from Lego that will show the Mario minifig. I just don't understand why didn't they release them in the summer? It does make me believe the one rumour of Peach Castle 18+ set with minifigs that would be coming in august... it might be true...
I also wonder if Lego Pokemon fucked their release schedule

I always assumed that Nintendo were the ones specifying that there couldn't be Mario Minifigs. They're always so autistic about Mario as a brand and make the weirdest fucking choices so I just thought Lego were just forced to not make minifig sets.
>>
How far are you willing to drive to look for Lego in a garage sale? The only garage sale I’ve seen that advertises Lego is 40 minutes away, and doesn’t have any pics or description except “bulk Lego parts”. I don’t want to drive that far just to be disappointed by what they’re selling, or realize someone bought everything already.
>>
>>11732344
>WE WON
only if you can afford the $700 (?) price tag
I wouldn't even be surprised if this was the whole level for $1000 considering the blue-balls frenzy the vacuum of the absence of Mario Minifig has created over the past several years, Lego is sure to max-profits especially since Pokemon blew up as it did
truly the best we can hope for is $200. no way is it going to be any less than that

I just had a thought, when other themes get smartbricks and smart minifigures, can I mix them?
Can I put my smart Lloyd in the Millennium Falcon or my smart Tom Nook on the Death Star? Or will Disney throw a shitfit and licensed themes can only react to themselves.

good. I said before I only use it to relieve stress at my frustration with -expensive- Lego standards. I use an extra-dumb acronym because I think it's dumb.
I'm teasing the expensive set to lower my expectations, but honestly I think it will wind up like Animal Crossing. kinda-pricey, they'd be better if each set included one-freaking-more minifig, but right on the edge of tolerable-enough to purchase. at least a couple of 'em.
>>
>>11732507
It’s good to temper one’s expectations especially in this hobby.
I think you’re probably right… just on the edge of tolerable…
Thing is I already have a ton of Mario legos. And that will temper by buying more than anything honestly.

Actually it's a problem if you're trying it buy $20 worth of pieces. I'm currently trying to get a 5 issue run of a comic series and the whole set is $150+$200 but each issue is about $13, so I'm figuring out different seller shipping rates (they are over charging).

Most adult themes fail because of being highly restricted in depicting things like contemporary weapons. Otherwise, I don't think LEGO would have any issue selling 80s action themes given everyone else was selling kid toys of 80s action movies.
