You're supposed to combine wirebugs with the other kinds of movement like sliding on slopes, wall running, and great wirebugs. Usually monsters only move like one area over anyway so you can usually get there with just 3 or so wirebugs. I'm assuming you're using them wrong. If you're in the air you can press A to hang from a wirebugs midair and then press dodge to dodge forward so if you do this between normal wirebug swings you can move even further for no extra cost. It also helps if you use the free aim wirebug movement and aim high to get more lift off the ground. So you'd essentially point the camera up and shoot your wirebug and then use them normally after. It's a skill you have to hone a bit. Personally I just got a ton of practice with it in the demo so by the time the game launched I was already a pro at it. Eventually you'll get so good you can wirebug off a mountain and micro adjust your momentum mid air so you can snipe a monster's head as you fall. I had some webms of that but who knows where I put them. Anyway just git gud with practice

Lol yeah the complaints about GU hit effects are way overblown. I'm using a dragon weapon in FU and between the black lighting effect and the red crit flashes I'm about to have a seizure because there's so much shit on the screen and then you have the little palico throwing bombs everywhere.

Shame the host DCed during the doshu quest, it was pretty kino

They lowered the texture quality so much in TU4 and in this update that I think there's not a single texture in Rise that's lower rez than in Wilds at this point. Some textures in Wilds since TU4 use fucking 64x64 for fucks sake, Rise never went as low as that.

Its kinda funny how portable team treats main's team flagships with way more care than main team. Gore in Wilds looks fucking terrible and he shares almost nothing with the gameplay of the og fight. Meanwhile in Sunbreak he looks awesome with his wings effect properly having that dark cloud look, and his fight is just updated without butchering his gameplay. Also they put him and Shagaru in one drop and Chaotic in the very first update.

Aside from lagiacrus, mizutsune, and blangonga, every other returning monster in wilds was in 4U.
World progression was also similar to 4U with deviljho, rajang, brachy, and then fatalis. This is all without mentioning the 4U character cameos in both games. I know 4U was mainline's first big break and also where tokuda started taking more of a leading role but it is starting to seem like he isn't capable of making a game that isn't 4U yet again. Maybe he feels like monhun peaked with 4U so there's not much else to do.

In wilds? Get good at counter pokes. They work like LS counters now where you hold and release just before getting hit. The bigger the attack that hit you, the more damage it does. Playing with other people pretty well fucks lance as it limits your counter poke ability.

omega is pretty easy, just take bind resist so you don't get nabbed by the freeze (if doing savage), and take armor with high fire resist

better yet, do the AT udra quest with sos falre on and wait for high rankers to just smack it to death, then use the udra Y armor for omega, makes it easy as shit

I made it to see how well I can make a guy hunter and from the looks of it pretty good I would say considering he's the most handsome hunter in all of /mhg/.

first phase you want to get him under the back of the arena to knock the ceiling onto him
second phase he ignites the floor and for normal people you climb up the ledge and help set up the canon (somehow)
but if you're a horner like me, just take a horn with healing aura or healing songs and stand at his feet smacking his balls to death until you get the tail wound
third phase he drops a lot of lasers everywhere that can be used to take him out, you can mount him also but it takes about 5 or 6 airborn hits iirc maybe more but it's generally for IG users to actually be able to do anything I guess

then you get his bits, more part breaks give more rewards, and you upgrade your artian shit and/or your armor (any), the artian weapons upgraded to gogma ones will have 2 skills built in and you choose which priority (elem, attack, crit chance) before stat rolling with artian or gogma mats

I say it's "easy" but I've killed well over a hundred and gotten sub 9 minutes with randoms a few times whereas at first I thought it was unplayable
