Summer begins
Quite silly that even with the economy mod that alters sell price for everything, starfruit is still pretty consistently one of the top earning crops. Guess it's natural since it's got a 400g price tag attached to every sneed
Other high earners this season are
>blue agave
>aloe
So basically sandy is responsible for this season of growth
Watermelon and melons are good but not great, as their prices are already in the middle and decreasing every day. The highest value crops go into kegs, juicers, and preserve jars, of which I have 115, 30, and 30, respectively. Going to use that cabin on the left to set up eveything flower and honey related
>flower drying, essential oils, beeswax and candles, as well as mead. I get 30 honey every few days, so ive been stockpiling as I've just kept forgetting to keg them for mead. Mead is intresting because it's not the same value applied as other artisian goods from crops. Those just get multiplied directly. Mead has its own separate value in the economy, probably because in vanilla there is only one type of mead even if the honey is different. So, there are cases where you convert a high value honey, like rose honey for over 1200g per jar, into a bottle of mead thats 300g. This means it's only worth meading if the base honey is cheap, due to the flower being cheap that season. Similarly, you can convert the cheapest honey to beeswax and combine that with an expensive flower to get a candle that is worth multiple thousnds. If you were to optimize this, it could rival winemaking as it's much faster to go through the process for the candles than for wine, and thus, could be more better... theoretically

But all of that is like 3 different mods working together, which is why it's a bit "off" like with mead behaving strangely
Another mod I really have been loving is weather wonders. It adds more types of weather to the game, some of which give negatives you have to work around. The very next day after I planted my summer crops, I was hit with a heatwave that dried up all the sprinkler water. Thus, I had to water 752 crops by hand.

Mobile to Mobile Co-Op players:
How to avoid our nemesis, if one player is in the mine all non-host will freeze up once anyone uses auto tool select too much. 1x offering them something unfreezes them but if it happens again you have to quit and log in again losing 1/4 day.
I don't have a controller, I don't want to manually select tools. Is there a way to avoid this stuff from happening? Why isn't this 2+ year old game breaking consistent bug getting addressed?

The REAL impressive thing is to get the theater in spring y2. I've never managed to do it earlier than that, but I've never tried as I always finish the CC on winter 28 so that the first cutscene in spring is the celebration

Void fish and the ancient fruit are the easy ones. Unless you happen to get real bad rng and don't have an ancient sneed. But with only 4/5 required, it's not that difficult to get the theater either, just takes a bit of foresight, especially if you don't have the egg or sneed

Complete but could use more decor too. Perhaps a sitting area in between the trellises. Might have room for a few giant crops?? Dunno. I'm not going to use giant crops as decoration this time around because I don't have room on my farm anywhere unless I sacrifice planting space and the glades are all full
Am just now considering the implications of a fourth junimo glade specifically for growing giant crops, of which there are many in this mod... I really don't know... could be a nice side project. I think I also have mods installed that let you tap them for juice or wine, so there could actually be some minor use

Vegtable and misc glade
Misc being shrooms, spices, herbs, cocoa beans from a chocolatiering mod which I have yet to even touch. There's too much stuff to do and not anywhere near enough time to do it. I really dislike the idea of modding time to be slower, but I think it would be an intresting idea to have the golden clock give that effect. Since it's basically endgame and proof that you've "won" stardew to have the golden clock, it would make sense being what it is that it gives you the ability to control time. So as it for not to be too cheaty, Id say it should basically just double the legnth of the day. I feel like this could fuck with the schedules of the machinery and stuff, but maybe it's not too bad

Fall is not yet over but it was fairly productive. Summer, actually, was way more productive in terms of money because I had more crops that were high base value at the bottom of supply level. All I had to really work with this time was amaranth, yams, and diakon. My ancient crop greenhouse was going insane though. Ancient flower mass growth into candles and dried flowers was netting me something like 35k per day

Here was a years old playthrough from well before 1.6
Had one of every type of giant crop from that mod. It made the farm look really busy and full, but it takes up a huge amount of space

Well the current cornucopia has innate giant crops becuase one of the modders who originally made giant crops for the original ppja version of cornucopia just decided to incorporate them directly. But I believe there are also other mods that add sprites for the ones that don't have it

Cornucopia itself only has about 5 crops that have giant versions built in
The rest have to be added on via other mods
Most of the other mods, however, come from "luminestria" who is the same modder that did the abomination that is mount vapis. It is as likely a real woman as it is a troon, so I will not be touching any of those silly mods

True, but she also made some tile mods necesary for some of the mods I use. Like East Scarp for example. As long as I don't add any disgusting troon creature, I'm fine with objects and crops.

Not really tricky, but definitely a significant amount of work since the jas mod has like 20+ portraits and it uses most of them frequently. It's really nice for the mod, but really bad for portrait mod compatibility if someone wants to use something else. I'm lucky jas mod's portraits are my favorite one, but even then it's unfortunate for overall consistency with other characters if you're going with a significantly different style for the rest of the villagers. Frankenmeshing portraits is a problem anyone with a fair amount of mods will inevitably face unfortunately.

i didn't say it was impossible, just trouble some. 20 trips(more if you plan on building cheese presses or smokers) to the woods with a copper or higher axe is a lot to ask for energy and time wise from summer to winter. with the forest farm you have more than double the spawns and they are close by.

The multiple hour long trips to the Secret Woods not only for hardwood but also for the big foraging exp suck so incredibly hard on non-forest farm playthroughs that I'll forever be grateful for the minecart in Ashley's mansion. It's one of those occasions where the sheer convenience overpowers any and all shame of muh cheating.

expanding on this:
i did remixed bundles. the spring crops bundle required a carrot; i didn't plant and harvest a carrot till after the egg hunt. this means i only got 2 harvests on my 16 strawberry plants. you can get 3 if you use the speedgro from the bundle.
those 16 strawberries would have been enough to get me to farming 6 on the last harvest, along with my 32 cauliflower i have growing. i looked at the save file and checked.
the fastest i could get it is by harvesting 47 wheat. which if my math is right, would mean i'm still out one melon harvest. but as i've now cheated by looking at the save file, i can't continue. it was on the standard farm, which i wasn't entirely happy with. its so boring

After having finished watching one bideo on sunkissed valley mod for minecraft, which turns the game into stardew, I have decided it's probably not for me
The good
>you can apparently build your own village from the ground up as the rewards you get for progressions directly give you villager spawns. This means you can go build wherever you want and create your own complex with all your testificate slaves
The bad
>the game gives you a "blueprints" for buildings because it wants you to place those instead of building yourself. The "starter farmhouse" is something like 50x40x40 blocks. Absolutely fuckhuge for no reason and gaudy as fuck. Looks so out of place next to anything in the world. Obviously you can just not use them. But that's not intended gameplay
>villager noises are so goddamned annoying man holy shit why are they still like this after literal centuries of their nasally squidward ass HHHHHNNNNMMMMMMHHHH. fuck you.

To expand on my thoughts on the farming
>in stardew valley there are 3 types of crops
>single growth, regrowables, trellises
>single growth crops have to be replanted. Thus, it's a one time investment for large pay off. You can also use that spot to plant something else in its place afterwards. This means you can time your fields and rotate your crops so you make the most out of each season, or time their growths so they end up harvesting on the same days, thus making you more efficient.
>regrowables take longer to grow and give less initially, but can end up giving you more payoff in the long run, especially if it's a two season crop like corn, which will give you passive income every week for little effort. Yes, you could have probably made more by replanting a higher value single growth crop in its place, but that requires going to and buying the sneeds, planting them, applying fertilizer, etc. Thus, regrowables are less effort for virtually equal reward, as the time you are spending not replanting the seeds every harvest is used for other progression. Plus, with them giving more crops on average, it's entirely reasonable to stockpile and wait for a lucky day to propagate your own sneeds from them, virtually eliminating the cost of those seeds entirely beyond the first few you bought. You can spend money on a single sneed of each and have four dozen of each crop by the end of your playthrough in your greenhouse
>speaking of the greenhouse, regrowables are also extremely powerful when it comes to passive income because you can set up these crops in your greenhouses and have money coming in all year round since they will never die or need to be maintained
>trellises have all the benefits of regrowables, but with the drawback of not being able to walk through them. This adds depth to your layout design, especially on smaller more compact farms, because you need to think about how you're going to place them instead of just willy nilly clumping them

There is no extrinsic value because there is no reason to plant anything but the most profitable, and there is no intrinsic value because there is no difference crop to crop
