Yes, but it's mostly a joke, because most commissions/stages are completed in around 30 seconds to 1 minute, and the mobs' stats scale with the amount of players, so if the player you got is weak, you'll have a harder time than being solo
The only 2 stages in this game where multiplayer actually works beneficially is Excavation and Chase. Excavation is for farming common currency, but there's a better and faster option called Maze, which is solo, and there are rumours that devs are thinking about making it multiplayer, but who knows. Chase is for farming exclusive and endgame desirable item blueprints, and it used to be great, but nowadays it's filled with ranDUMBS who don't know what the fuck they are doing, and you'd be lucky to have them in your match, as leeches who park their character at the start or the end and AFK while others do the heavy work have multiplied, so unless you go in with a premade, your time will be shit
/dna/ used to have Chase premades, but it didn't last lost. Still, I'm sure anons would be willing to play some Chase matches, because it's a fun commission, so it'd be a matter of asking for party ITT or messaging anons in-game by using the friendlist in the OP
As for the future of multiplayer in DNA, there's nothing truly certain. Devs are currently trying to appease customers by creating skins, so multiplayer-related changes should only start coming in around May or June

I hope this game doesn't fail. It really is the core gameplay (movement/character controller, gun play, enemy interaction) holding the game back. Afterwards fixing missions and making them more fun to be ran in co-op would do wonders. Right now the best way to farm is with a macro and people will obviously do that or quit. It is simply unfun to play the game as is.

I think there's some potential with a huge fucking horde type of mission. Marvel Rivals did a PvE zombies mode back in October and had a fairly large surge in players. Some of my friends that didn't play for over 6 months hopped on just to check it out. It was a temporary event originally planned to end after 3 weeks but got extended to 3 months, so seems like their numbers showed a lot of people playing it.
The mode was overall pretty shallow too but I still had fun simply mowing down waves of zombies and trying to figure out what builds works at the start. I'd imagine that a full PvE game can put out something on the same level, if not better.
Though this could be one case where mobile is actually holding it back. Marvel Rivals did not enable the mode on PS4 because of performance limitations. Unless Pan manages to make some significant mobile optimizations, it could be a problem trying to pack more mobs into the map. I'm not sure if the current theater/Chase mob density is enough to create the same Dynasty Warrior/CoD Zombies feeling.

I only got rank 196, so not really worth mentioning.
I could've easily gotten higher if I upgraded more but I don't like Psyche enough to do that. Anemo was already by far my most amped element until I started on electro wedges. I got enough to hit 1.2m and left it at that.

I'm going all in on Zhiliu so I'll try harder for the likely electro summit. Even though the very top ranks will be P2W, I don't think there will be more than 30 people going for I6 Zhiliu. So I figure being top 100 would put me in at least top 80 among the people that didn't buy introns. It'll still be a challenge since I never bought BP either, so no electrelf.

New co-op stuff would take some time to implement. Besides having the idea, they'd have to work out the details, do the work to implement it, then test it for balance/bugs. The events they've been putting out have probably been planned out since around launch, maybe even earlier. Chase got added relatively late in development, I didn't see anything about it from CBT2 footage.
I'm hoping they're using some of the events (Luno Theater, Avian trial, roaring drills, phoxhunter summit) as a testing ground for co-op content. Not sure what's up with the upcoming autochess mode, maybe they used it to work on the AI. At the very least, the latest Luno Bulletin does mention new commissions to improve gameplay experience. So we'll have to see if they can deliver.

It'll be controversial for sure if Pan did do that. Though it's not really an issue for me personally. The actual rewards are still at a relatively fair standard. Only a small amount of the total playerbase are realistically contenders for top 100. Unless a large portion of the top 100 swiped for I6, you can easily trim them out to get the "fair" placement on leaderboards.
