I've finally started playing XIII-2. While it isn't amazing so far (and the writing already kind of sucks), it really feels like they tried to fix XIII's issues. Everything feels less restrictive, there's actually stuff to do besides walking forward and fighting, and the monster raising mechanic seems fun.

Ok, this is just a me problem, but I just found an otherwise serious character turning into a random pop culture character (gygas being frankenstein and hellmasker being jason) a bit more jarring than some funny random enemy that has no bearing on the main plot.
