Archie at least has the excuse that it's based on Satam so it is obligated to carry over those stories and characterizations. IDW on the other hand is supposed to be canon and Ian is still obsessed with this idea that Sonic is a cocky idiot who needs to be taught a lesson by wise women. I once picked up a wooden chair and swung it at some kid's skull in boarding school. Only got his shoulder cause I didn't think in the moment that the legs were on the corner of the chair. Same guy I tried to strangle and drown in the pool one swimming class. Not unintentionally or nothing, I wanted him to swallow water.
I got let off each time cause everyone knew he was a complete faggot who provoked me first, but his parents were rich and he was a spoiled low iq shit so he wouldn't get in trouble for it I didn't either. At least I assume that's why, but he definitely deserved it.

All these stories of lashing out as a kid, one thing always stuck with me. It was middle school and I forgot what elective class but there were 5 of us sitting at these tables. And at my table was this annoying kid who was a little bigger than me but kept making fun of me for no reason.
He did this for weeks and I got so mad I stood up, walked over to him, balled up a fist, and punched him in the shoulder as hard as I could.
Everyone at the table looked shocked and he looked at me for a second before bursting out into laughter and saying "IT DIDN'T EVEN HURT, I BARELY FELT IT!"
I dunno if he was trying to save face but I remember feeling so mortified and weak that all of my anger amounted to nothing. I never forgot that feeling.
On the plus side he stopped making fun of me soon after.

Here he is correcting himself to make an insult harsher. "You're the fact... no actually you're not even good enough to be acknowledged as a fake" the dub removes the correction and the acknowledgement part. So now Shadow says "Your'e teh fake, you're not even good enough to be my fake".
I think emphasizing the "my" would carry the meaning of the original. "You're not even good enough to be MY fake" or "You'ere the fake around here, but not good enough to be mine"
The current one does its job. It's not like they lost a major character detail but it is different and little differences like these add up into inconsistencies.

Reasons being:
She is replacing Silver
The movie is all about Amy's plot, as opposed to Sonic 2 where it was (very unevenly) split between Knuckles and Tails and also introducing the emeralds as a powerup for the first time.
Shadow is 100% returning because Fowler and they're Sonic movies they don't have the self-respect to wait
If Sonic and Shadow are gonna go Super again (they will, they're gonna spam it again instead of writing a story) then so too will Amy so as not to be left out of her own film

Movie 4 is a core 4 vs metal sonic movie, and either only Sonic will go Super or none of them will.
