I spit on the face of these greedy nip faggots. No I don't have my entire life to wait while you drip feed NES roms and PS1 isos for the umpteenth time. I'll stick to my emulators on Switch, Xbox, PC and more. Eat my ass, HAMSTER fags

Doubtful, at least in the near future. Nvidia cards have close to fuck all documentation, which is what they rely on for emulation. Pretty much the closest we have is the bits that Xemu emulates of the Xbox's GPU at a low level, and that card is something between a Geforce 3 and 4, which is waaaaaaay out of scope for 86Box. They've stated there's efforts underway to emulate the Riva TNT, which is a much earlier card, and even if they ever manage it, it'll likely be where they'll stop for a good while just out of performance considerations.

Guys, I wanna emulate tears of the kingdom because I bought the game on switch sometime ago and it literally can't run, my switch is too old, the environment can't load property
But I was wondering how do I go about using gyro for puzzles if my xbox controller doesn't have it? And also what emulator do you guys recommend?

It is.

It is, but it is much MUCH slower to add packages and receive updates, which also make it very stable. Good for servers but wouldn't recommend for desktops.

Is the Switch a good emulation station? a friend has no more use for his and asked me if i wanted it.
Apparently it has CFW, how easy is it to run emulators and dump roms into it?

Rendering artifact from using resulation scaling.
For Eden:
> [fs/core] Load external content without NAND install (#2862)
Thank god, lugging around an extra 70GB of NCAs extracted from update NSPs always felt like such a drag. Plus, the emulator loads much faster now (my home partition is on a disk raid, bite me).
But there's a small bug: XCI's that had updates bundled with them will create an update list showing multiple entries named after the highest version of an update you have. Like XCX will show two entries for 1.02 when I have the 1.02 update NSP in the configured update folder and when I move that elsewhere the second 1.02 entry becomes 1.01. But by default the actual highest update gets selected so it shouldn't confuse tards too much.

Depends on the game, plenty of games on the wii (iirc mario galaxy 2 in particular) work with normal controls and have 'shake' bound to something different because the devs playtested it with this motherfucker and didn't want to shake their arms around. I don't know what percentile it would be but it's always worth a try.
unrelated I'm giving disgaea 1 a break after getting most of the way through it. already beat ff12 and loved it, ff10 felt like it was for small children but I'm still going to play through it for the story and voice acting at some point. Tried ff7 and the item leveling shit is utterly unforgivable, then I found out they also wrote out half the characters after disc 1 and noped out even though I'll finish it eventually.
RPG games on the PS2 with a robust leveling system?

Lottes is the best. It can be easily configured to imitate any kind of crt. From a consumer set, to a broadcast monitor, to an arcade monitor and everything in between.
WHen i'm emulating on my actual CRT i use GTU50 because it can adjust the bandwidth on the horizontal and vertical axis' independantly.

your reply was very frustrating but I'm happy you are having fun lol
Took a look at the recommendations mirahaze for /v/ and most of the strategy games looked exceptionally lame in the gameplay videos I watched except for Drakengard. What I wasn't expecting was for Drakengard to be exactly the game that Skyward Sword was advertised as. Very repetitive and very grindy so far (in a good way) and the secrets are fun to find and the flying is spectacular. Not quite an RPG as much as a single character dynasty warriors game. I'm having a blast and so is my dragon who keeps trying to talk down my character from making irrational decisions and neglecting the campaign to basically go off and do what would be sidequests in any other game, causing problems as people die because I didn't move fast enough lolmy guy is just so hate filled and I love him.

a used wii is the best emulation station
>easiest to install homebrew on
>composite video for easy 240p or 480i on a TV CRT
>emulators run surprisingly well all around
If you want a cheap handheld check out aliexpress and youll get them for cheap, under 100€ you can emulate most of 5th gen and probably some 6th gen

1:08 to 1:11 "Link takes flight to find her, WHEREVER she may be" (advertising that the loftwing would be used wherever creatively without actually saying it so they can't be sued for false advertising)
1:13 to 1:20 "During his adventure, Link can FREELY explore the skys by riding on this colossal bird, a loftwing!"
https://youtu.be/EAPldVCRo-g
Then at the e3 demo literally all they showed off was the bird race like that was going to be the biggest part of the game. Then as soon as you get done with that bird race you totally drop loftwings from the plot for 8 to 12ish hours except as a means of travelling the very empty hub with 2 islands for less than a minute between trips, basically just becoming setdressing until you do a short mission in a tornado that takes less than 20 minutes and then it goes back to being setdressing for the rest of the game besides, I think, one whole minigame race. There's a whole section of the game, probably the first hour, dedicated to talking to Zelda and getting this parachute and landing on this spot and it's very very obvious from that tutorial that the parachute was supposed to be a momentum based item and not just 'you press this before you hit the ground after using your loftwing for fast travel and if you don't press the button we just press it for you and then sink down in a straight line.'
The implication was that our mount wasn't going to be Epona this game, it was going to be a fucking loftwing which was sick. Drakengard has a real flying mount for combat has the sudden boost when you press X as when you shook both the wiimote and the nunchuck, has a knight with a sword who leaps off the dragon and fights with a fancy moveset which is exactly what I expected from Skyward Sword given how it was advertised (except for the hordes of enemies thing.)
Coincidentally I'm also protecting a girl who has the goddess spirit in her just like in Skyward Sword as well.

I'd imagine they're affected similarly since ultimately it's an issue with the signal and the decoders. Which leads to the question, do you get a double NTSC effect when watching a VHS recording of a NTSC broadcast?
Also I wonder how VHS handled 240p? I know some freaks used to run their consoles through a VHS recorder and record their play. I'd assume everything just go recorded as interlaced video.

This has been ongoing for a while
Back in the day of WC3, you would have preset blobs of scripting. A few people would bother to learn the actual syntax and raw dog it, but meh
And now you got visual pipeline tools to setup shader stacks. They work, elegantly, but if you want enough moving parts, at some point you need to avoid using prefabs in order to avoid cumulative copy paste.

you are not meant to see the raw pixels
Shigeru Miyamoto acknowledged that CRTs blend the pixels together, and the Lion King dev also said the raw pixels look disgusting on a LCD and are probably the reason many people cant look at retro games fondly in modern days
https://youtu.be/kILeyo1iv0A?si=Yq4llULhae_FgrEv&t=92
"You can actually see every single pixel which means it looks nothing like it did back in the 90s"

actually a pvm with an rgb signal looks just as sharp as a modern monitor, even a consumer television with component or s-video has virtually no blur
the blur you're referring to is mostly unrelated to crt technology and almost entirely a byproduct of composite ntsc video signals

>>
File: E4v4HBRWUAAiiQF.jpg (63.6 KB)

>>556634902
A PVM is not the regular consumer hardware videogames were being built for
They were being built for composite, or even RF signals and regular consumer TV sets
That said, any CRT will usually do better than an LCD with no shaders, its a matter of taste at some point.

This. CRT display was basically a hardware pixel shader. Big blobs of pixels in a single color were displayed as a quasi- texture, rough lines looked more smooth.
The most simple pixel shader featuring translucent scanlines is far from the real hardware, but it makes it closer to the original look than anything else.
Take a close look at the pic related, left side with enabled shader, right doesn't.
>>
>>
>>
>>556636714
its both
CRTs dont have a fixed pixel count so it doesnt quite look like pixels
Even in a computer CRT through VGA, if you set a PC game resolution like 1024x768 in a 21" monitor it will look way better than what you'd expect, edges get naturally smoothed just on the basis that its a CRT and the pixel accuracy isnt quite perfect, or maybe the fact that theres no predefined pixel count

Shotguns don't die for you. Brothers do. Do you have 458 brothers willing to mag-dump their lives
>>
>>556637305
>it doesnt quite look like pixels
It looks like pixels, but the difference in display technology makes it extremely hard to spot individual "pixels" without pressing eye to the surface of the screen.
First, pixels are dots with size depending on resolution and screen size, not 100% tiny sharp rectangles of the same color.
Second, there's "noise" created by scanlines (visible but hard to focus the sight on) and aperture grille (barely visible).

SNES. No contest.
PS2 is filled with garbage when you really drill into it. 1000 sports titles alone for starters. Another 1000 are unplayable japanese exclusive VN's and licensed anime strategy games. etc

Absolutely fucking idiotic. Just have 1 giant list, with 1 column for the genre, then you can click that column up the top and it will put all of the genres together - you know, how most other websites work.
