This is going to sound very counter-intuitive at first, but you have to learn to be okay with doing things on your own and finding enjoyment in something without someone else being there. It can be very hard depending on what you're used to but it is paramount that you do not solely gain enjoyment from an activity if other people you know, respect, and enjoy are there. Once you have this down, you will find other people who like doing the same things that you do, and you will have common ground to start friendships with them.
