I've been out of the loop for a while. If I were to make a game and publish it, would I need to scan my face or ID? If it were profitable, I assume I'd need to hand over some form of real-world identification to be able to cash out on any robux earned.

Is there any point in making anything for the platform at this point? It doesn't look like they'll even consider going back on requiring users to scan their faces to unlock chat features. Privacy concerns aside, the way they split users into age groups is retarded for a multitude of reasons. There's no way you can convince me they aren't using these mandates to set precedents for the rest of the internet.

That's unfortunate; I was hoping for an easy way of making pocket change on the side. I'd prefer not to hand over any sensitive or PII to a platform. As a rule of thumb I just assume that everything gets leaked eventually. Corporations are never held accountable for their mismanagement of sensitive user info/data, and it's the end user that's left looking like a schmuck having to deal with the repercussions.

Aside from ignorant normalfags/thirdies and arrested development rofags who just need their fix, I think the fact that (presumably) a lot of kids have already face verified highlights the fact that a lot of parents are either ignorant of what goes on in the platforms their kids use, or just straight up don't give a shit. Which is ironic considering this whole ordeal was brought upon for the sake of child safety, which is only a concern because parents can't be assed to look over their kids and just hand them unrestricted internet access. England with their Children's Wellbeing in Schools Act literally created a whole ass database of all children in their country that stores shit like medical history and basically everything about them that [they say] is meant to help schools, doctors, parents, etc. easily access any childs info on demand. (And you can't opt out of it, schools have to register your kid whether you like it or not)
