Is there a variation in pull rates between products of the same set? I'm about to cave in and get booster blisters for Ascended Heroes rather than wait for ETB or Bundles (these release on fucking april) but I don't knoe if blisters are a scam when it comes to hit rate. quick rundown for you and anyone else
When packs are put into products, it matters what products they go into. For booster boxes (and I believe half-booster and bundles as well), the packs come straight off the printing and cutting line (sort of) which makes it so you get an SIR every 1-2 booster boxes (or equivalent odds in the smaller boxes). For other products like ETBs, collection boxes and blisters, the packs from production are randomly picked and placed. This means in any non-booster product, you can get anywhere from no hits at all, or a hit (or two or three) in every pack

For me, that soulless feeling comes from how they're not taking advantage of adapting and expanding the source material into something that makes the TCG and its sets stand out on their own aside from their eras for over the past decade. The best sets had a specific theme and every card inside following it, whereas the modern sets seem to only do it for a fraction of their cards.
Another reason as to why I think that modern feels soulless is certain rarities. I'm not a fan of Ultra Rares outside of Supporters, Shiny Rares from Fates sets, Hyper Rares, and similar cards mainly because they look cheap or outdated with the advent of illustration rares. They really feel sloppy for lack of a better term and bloated when I'd rather have the regular print or the illustration rare.
On one hand, the hypebeasts eating up the modern sets means the vintage sets aren't ruined as much. On the other hand, that demand will lead to more sloppy sets until the demand dies or the TCG crashes.

How do you cope with the fact that you can't actually catch them all?
I mean, I have many cards saved in my wishing list, but I can't buy them all and of course sooner or later someone buy them.
Most of them were cards or sets, hard to find in those conditions or to find at all, maybe it takes months to see them listed again and usually even at higher prices.

Great card, great set. There’s so many good Harada artworks in that set, which is really funny when you consider it was basically just filler before D/P. So many of the final stage pokemon are just Ken Sugimori artworks, including the fossil gang

If I ever go for a complete Gen 3 binder it’s the first set i’d look at for stuff like poochyena

I boughteded the jap rocket's mewtwo (megadream version) for 85, it will probably be cheaper next month but ehh

Nobody really noticed but the boom really started to take off around surging sparks. Then it was kinda of hit or miss sets, now its largely mid sets or ass sets. People are still justifying boom behavior over nothing burgers. Its interesting how people justify shit cards and sets as being good. Most people I know have distanced themselves from collecting and it seems like the resellers and scalpers are kinda late to the news still wheeling and dealing amongst themselves.

Is it worth double sleeving cards if you're just gonna put em' in a binder?

Can doing this lead to overstuffing in a ringless vaultx binder and subsequently damage the cards?

Not really, but a perfect fit and penny sleeve isn't going to hurt if you insist. If you need so much protection that you're considering a second sleeve, you should probably just get a top loader binder.

Yes, and that would be the case for any type of binder. If you're going to double sleeve in a binder, you should only use the front or back of a page and not both. While sleeves are thinner than cards and thus the math isn't a flat out "only use half", using any more would lead to uneven distribution which will just mean page specific overstuffing instead of binder-wide overstuffing.

Using KMC perfect fits and then a Dragon Shield black matte. The protection is definitely nice, but if I'm being honest, I really like the way the cards look in the sleeves.
