I think most people with home book shelves are not even performative readers at all, but only following Western Home-Magazine "Feng Shui".

Actual book hoarders are different. I know because I was also a book hoarder, now I only curate a small collections of books I have yet to read. Read books are shared and given away for free, only personal favorites stay.

I was without electricity/internet for 7 days after the storm in portugal and it made me realize just how important offline battery powered entertainment is times of crisis. Which chinese handheld would you recommend that's cheap(100€ or less), doesnt take much work to setup, runs up to psx/n64/gba and with a relatively long lasting battery that can be powered with powerbanks and such? Don't have much particular preference in the vertical/horizontal/clamshell form factor, just want it not have weird screen aspect ratios.

Vita's single thread performance is barely better than the PSP, so it's mostly pretty shit for emulation. It can't even really properly emulate SNES.

Its single core speed is basically worse than a first gen raspi. It really is like a PSP with more cores (the PSP had 2 MIPS ones but only one was usually used for the applications)
Also it still contains the PSP CPU as well, which is why optimized PSP emus run better than unoptimized native vita ones
