>Who is /fat/ for?
For fat fucks who are working towards a longer life and a better physique through meaningful hard-work, strategy, and dedication. This is not QTDDTOT, stick to questions on fat loss. Post height and weight when asking for advice.
Join our Fatty Contest: https://www.fattycontest.com/
>What do I do first?
1. Read https://physiqonomics.com/fat-loss/
2. Calculate your Body Fat Percentage: https://fitness.bizcalcs.com/Calculator.asp?Calc=Body-Fat-Navy
3. Calculate your TDEE: https://www.sailrabbit.com/bmr/
Remember to use bodyfat% and use Katch-McArdle Formula with sedentary settings or your TDEE will be too high.
4. Plan your weight loss: https://www.losertown.org/eats/cal.php
5. Track your nutrition with MyFitnessPal (better for packaged food), Cronometer (better for generic food/macros), LoseIt (great for both), or Waistline (FOSS).
>Now what?
Count calories, all of them.
Eat about 500-1000 less calories than your TDEE.
Buy scales, be accurate.
Learn to cook. Try to stick to lean protein and green vegetables.
Eat a lot of protein. 0.72g per pound of goal lean body mass.
Doing cardio, even just walking, will improve your health. There is no such thing as a healthy fat heart, but you can offset the risks.
Lifting weights will keep and gain muscle mass and lose fat much quicker. No lifting results in the body eating away muscle AND fat.
Drink more water.
Read the /fit/ sticky: https://liamrosen.com/fitness.html
>DON'T
Eat refined sugars, they're terrible for you regardless of calories.
Eat processed foods.
Drink your calories (alcohol, soda, Starbucks).
Freak out over a weight loss stall. Plateaus can last up to three weeks.
"Reward" yourself. Cheat days cheat only yourself.

erm actually the fastest absorption is 10g per hour with whey protein (and everything else is way slower so protein timing doesn't matter)
>>77190412
no, as long as you get enough protein and train properly
>>
>>77190515
is turning digestible starch into resistant starch by cooling your source of starch in the fridge legit?
yes
but it's a tiny amount so unless you eat said starch source from the fridge every single fucking day it will not matter in the long run

Just had my first cheat day since Mardi Gras. Ate a shrimp po' boy, blackened catfish, cracklins, a bananas foster and a couple beers. I feel stuffed for the first time in months.
Any other anons having a cheat day for Easter?

once again all I have eaten today was 3 slices of (spicy) dominos (large) pizza, like 15g of ranch mayo, and one peach ring candy gummy thing
so that puts me at like 800 - 900 calories hooray yayyyy weightloss soooon yayy

Deficit without nutrition is a recipe for disaster anon. Your skin is gonna be all fucked up and your body will start giving you pregnancy-tier cravings for absent nutrients in their most accessible form, which is usually a very sugary version

but fuck how could I not only only eat like one meal a day (at the end of the day after meds wear off) and then have THAT meal be like icky and not even tasty???
can you even get all of your nutrients in 800 calories whilst still having it be like somewhat tasty.

Bros why did no one say that cottage cheese bowls are goated? It looks absolutely cursed but this shit is a cheat code.
2 servings low fat cottage cheese
2 cans of tuna
4-6 grape tomatoes halved
1 pickle spear diced and chopped
That's my base and then depending on what I’m feeling I might put some avocado on or cucumbers&red onion
Put some seasonings and hot sauce on that shit and mix it up and you’re good to go. Big bowl to fill you up all for like
380cal
15g carbs
7g fat
61g of protein
(This changes if you add avocado but I don’t do that often) legitimately has helped me drop 20lbs over the past month or so.

nobody said this
>one day progress will stall or stop completely
by the time that day arrives, calisthenics has you looking like an olympic gymnast while weightlifting has you looking like an obese powershitter.

I'm trying to do kettlebell swings, this is a weird movement. I feel it in my lower back, not sure thats normal. I'm trying to keep my back straight and my shins planted but this feels like I'm gonna hurt myself doing this dumb shit. Any pointers?

>Bros why did no one say that cottage cheese bowls are goated?
because quark and skyr have better macros and don't have that disgusting curdly texture?
Your meal is shit btw, this has slightly more protein and covers about 75% of your micronutrient needs in less than 500 kcal:
500g magerquark
15g rosehip powder
1 egg yolk
3g matcha
Spices (ceylon cinnamon, aniseed, vanilla) Toppings:
50g blueberries
1 brazil nut
10g pumpkin seeds
10g hemp seeds
10g puffed amaranth
>>
>>77190691
nowhere does that say "only work out for the feeling of progress," what's more it limits the scope for the recommendation to the cut, so your comment about progress stopping wasn't even relevant because calisthenics progress will continue until you've reached the lower end of healthy bodyfat levels
>>
>>77190745
fitness is for life bro
this isn't some game for you to complete and then get bored of
at some point when you're older you will have to fight just to maintain strength levels, and even lose strength over time. at no point should progress be a motivational factor.

I've been working out regularly again and hitting new prs, but I've been overeating for every meal. If I can restrict my portions and my intake for just a month with my current regiment, I can finally actually start looking like I work out instead of some strong fat mongoloid.
Finally, my dreams of being a sub-average, but strong, mongoloid are within sight. Are wagmi?
>>
Sorry for blog posting in advance, but I'm trying to enlist and still collecting documents and haven't even been to a MEPS yet.
Been working out for on/off for three years and have lost a 100 pound in the process. I've started doing pushups in volume and as a regiment since November, using a deck of cards for randomization and tracking progress.
Since then, I've also started to be able to hit archer pushups since last month and can hit 15 per arm, alternating, now.
Max is 416 with current rules. I finally completed a full deck yesterday with 300 of that coming in an hour set and rest piecemeal through the day.
I know I need to still work on cardio and things like mountain climbers. I know a local gym that I plan on starting to hit as well as diet changes. They have free classes and open gym, but I need to work on bench and pullups for sure.
Good luck, WAGMI

I make a huge batch of carne picada that lasts a week (it's cheap around $10)
Chili powder
Paprika
Onion powder
Garlic powder
Salt
Peppers and onions. Add jalapeños and pour some of the juice in it. Add lime juice. Cilantro.
I throw it on some low carb tortillas and add greek yogurt instead of sour cream. Add some salsa verde

I ate small, my dad wanted to cook this year and to be honest it sucked pretty bad so it wasnt hard to maintain the deficit. 3 deviled egg halves 1 scoop mashed potatoes, a spoonful of horseradish sauce and a Hawaiian roll with maybe 6-10oz of the driest, cooked to shit beef roast you've ever had. Had a banana this morning. Probably ~1200 cals if I had to guess, counting it at 1500 for safety. He's usually a great cook but family dinner turned out very poor.

Cronometer keeps giving me shit about getting too much B3 and sometimes folate every day. Is this actually a problem? The big sources are my daily multivitamin and the bottle of bodyarmor lyte I like to drink in the morning.
>>
>>77190720
Ate relatively light for easter (aka "only" like 3k calories) would have probably been a 4-5k day if I wasn't committed to losing this weight. I'm 2 hours into my gym session, hoping to work off most of these carbs. The upside is that I feel like I have a ton of energy since I'm usually in keto.
>>
My 160lbs gf who is 5’3” wants to get down to 130 lbs. How do I get her there faster? I explicitly told her that I find her weight unattractive and while we she did cry and we had an argument, she ultimately agreed and is losing weight for me. She’s down 15 lbs so far.
>>
>>77190981
As in 2k intake? You can manage that. I hit 150+ grams of protein on 1200-1500 regularly. My diet is mostly lean chicken, vegetables, a piece of fruit some days and I make protein powder greek yogurt. You can do it with an extra 500-700 calories. You dont need that much carb intake to manage day to day.
>>
>>
>>77191011
it's not, ignore any retard that says that. The study says 1.3-1.8g protein per kilo of body mass in athletes promotes optimal muscle growth. Athletes are lean already and you want to do higher end of that number for losing weight, so about 1g per pound of LEAN mass. Other studies reflect this, I'm just stating the one everyone misquotes, including the sticky, by the way.

Not wanting to make anyone comfortable, I didn't weight anything. Anywhere from 1,500 to 2,000. Probably closer to 2,000. I usually drink a lot on holidays. I had a diet soda and a Guinness 0%. So I'm pretty happy with my caloric intake. Happy Easter to all who celebrate!

i've been going through some stressful shit for about a week that's been leaving me with only the opportunity to eat probably like 500 calories a day. i lost like 4 pounds this week (~160 to ~156) but it seems likely to be a lot of muscle so not much of a win
and then today i hit a breaking point and ordered mcdonald's delivery and ate kind of a lot more than necessary
can't wait to go back to eating normally instead of oscillating starving and binging

As much as I'd like to blame family's Easter feast for this, fact of the matter is that I've been slipping hard back into old habits and eating everything in sight and buying shit I don't need from the store again and I want to fucking die for being such a fat fucking shit. I don't know why this was much easier when I started out at 400 or so pounds but such a struggle for me when I'm close to the end.

This cutting shit is easy. I was afraid to finally cut, but it's easier than I thought.
I just don't eat for majority of the day, drink black coffee, water with electrolytes, tea and don't care about hunger at all, even when I'm hungry. In fact, it's eating that is fucking annoying plus it makes me sleepy, tired and useless.
My daily diet is literally:
>rye bread
>sardines with bones
>300g of chicken/pork
>65g of Whey
>Eggs(mostly boiled for less calories)
>Frozen Tuna pizza(for convenience, since I work for 10-12 hours a day)
Supplements:
>B-Complex
>15-30mg of Zinc+2mg of Copper
>Selenium
>Magnesium
>6mg of Boron
>D3+K2
>3000mg Arginine pre-workout
Anything to improve here?

Vegetables are easy to cook and add a lot of flavour to a meal. For example, you can chop an onion and a bell pepper and do a quick saute in the pan before throwing in your 300g chicken/pork.
Some you can just slice, throw a little salt and eat with the meal. Tomatoes, cucumbers, etc.

I'm 30. 240lbs 30% BF. Yesterday I got on a trampoline with my niece and was so winded afterward I felt old for the first time. Getting into the car after I ripped my pants in the crotch.
I am so fucking embarssed. And worst of all I have a big art show coming up at the end of the month and want to look... not disgusting.
Is there anything I can do for a short term 3-week fix and then hit a more steady decline after that?
>>

>>
>>
>>
>>77191764
At 240lbs you shouldn't be thinking of coming up with bf% numbers or looking for a short term fix. The only information relevant for you is that you're fat as fuck. To maintain this weight you must be eating until you're sick every day and I know because I've been there. Please stop thinking and coping and just stop fucking eating.

Started my weight loss journey last year as a 120kg unit. Right now I'm at 105kg, feel a lot better but still have ways to go.
My question is if it would be wise to get one of those protein supplements and which one should I get? Assuming I would cut even harder from carbs while taking it.
Is there a real benefit with this strat or should I just keep at it with my current diet/routine for the slow but steady progress continuity?
I am debating between spending money on this or more trading card game stuff.

>how is it possible that i dont know exactly how much fat i burned this week and have to approximate using a scale that measures my weight and plot that weight over a long period of time to look at the trend
because we arent all born rich enough to afford indirect calorimetry

You're only supposed to rebreathe between reps. That applies to every single exercise but especially if it stresses your lower back. None of that breathe in on the way down and out on the way up or the other way around. In practice you can start exhaling when the rep is mostly back to neutral if you want.

You will never lose muscle unless you are inactive, muscleloss from diet does not exist unless you reach starvation tier body composition
All that fake info comes from shitty measurements that didn't account for glycogen/waterloss from muscle during diets
>>77192036
You will still have energy to do anything you want, there will never be a time where you can't workout because of your calorie intake, you're just slowing down your progress for things that are in your head

High bar is typically the most natural for most people, but you could try low bar. I do both high bar and front squats. For deadlifts you can do them anywhere even in the rack. I do RDLs and rack the bar on low j-cups between sets.

I like to look up the height of MMA fighters and use their weight as my goal weight

If I went all the way to 70kg I would surely look like skeleton.
I wouldn't have as much muscle but what would be remaining of my skinnyfat would surely be mostly gone. Interesting to ponder about, now I'm 95kg.

Yeah there's one guy in these threads obsessed with MMA fighters as the gold standard. I've seen him post before. It's absolutely fucking retarded and nonsensical, just ignore him. Fighters have to adhere to strict weight classes, and more muscle can actually be detrimental for them.

Strength doesn't matter much in fighting past a certain point, especially with the weight classes. Professional contact sports pretty much always prioritize cardio and technique over strength. A 6'1 155lb MMA fighter doesn't magically have an insane squat or bench just because he does well in MMA, nor the other way around.

That guy on the picture has to be closer to 80kg than 70. And for a lightweight, he is quite tall.
here is him lb or two too heavy but still drained skelemode

I've done CPB diet for a week and I've lost 11 pounds. How concerned should I be? Every day I drop 1-1.5pounds on the scale. I got scared and did a 3k cal cheat day but after one day back on the diet I'm lower than I was before the cheat day. They say it's not healthy to lose weight that fast. I can't eat enough CPB to slow the weight loss so the only option is adding in other things or just letting it happen. My goal is to lose another 40-45 pounds.

Easing in to a fast by going very low carb for a few days before will have you burning ketones far more quickly which reduces the intense cravings of day 1-2. As does salt, have more than you think you need.

It’s because fat fucks have gotten too used to being fat fucks. If you as a grown ass man cannot commit to a 1200 calorie cut for 3 months to lose weight fast you’re just mentally weak. People overestimate how much food they actually need to eat.

Been paying for tirzepatide for five months and down 35lbs and I agree it's the best money I've ever spent. No food cravings, no noise, I can go days without eating if I wanted to and don't feel a thing. You can call it cheating and think what you like but at the end of the day it works and makes your life incredibly easier

take a multivitamin, you'll be fine

Reminder to check less obvious fundamentals if you're struggling to lose weight. I had a vitamin D deficiency and sleep apnea, something only discovered during tests (I just assumed I slept like shit for other reasons). Piss easy to lose weight now.
