Is it possible to have ear canals that can't handle anything inserted into them except earplugs?
Like silicone triflange and foam(isolation ones not IEM tips) were relatively ez to sleep in when i was used to them but IEMs systematically fail to seal my ears(except foam) and if i get a seal then there's unbearable occlusion and pain, i can handle etymotic with comply foam for like an hour max before my ear canal gets increasingly painful and sore, standard IEMs with big shells are less painful but the occlusion and absence of isolation are literal torture.
How do you even remove silicon tips without tweezers or decompression pain? I'd like to enjoy IEMs but the pain is making me sneed harcore considering even redditors of all people can sleep with their IEMs on like nothing happened

Not only have my trashdump edc pro survived a year of straight abuse, they can RUMBLE at low volume with just 5bands of peq and 2layers of 500 filters on each plus the little metal grill.
I'm pretty treble sensitive so sadly these shits are absolutely unusable without those filters and eq, but they sound very very good with them.
I hope these stick around and never get revised, probably the closest in bang:buck to OG CCA CRAs
Blue vido are also incredible

No worries, was just genuinely curious as had never seen something exactly like that, if you want a suggestion; try using a parametric equalizer, if you're on windows EqualizerAPO, for android use PowerAmp Equalizer or Wavelet

Why the FUCK do IEMs always sound awful in the same tinny, shitty way? I've tried using the largest eartips that fit in my ear for the """perfect seal"""" shit, and I've spent 60-80 bucks on a pair, they've all sounded significantly worse than the shitty apple wired earbuds. I just want them to sound good, I don't know what to do. Throwing bigger earpieces and more money at the problem hasn't fixed it, I dunno what will.

that also doesn't mean a goddamn thing, anon. I should've said this in my previous post, that you can't let other people dictate what's good for you. if you are actually enjoying the result of messing around with that eq, you're winning. some people force themselves to go through so much crap before they can even hit the play button..it's sickening. you have better things to worry about in life ;)

i have no idea, i listen to a lot of edm-ish, distorted stuff but also a lot of pop. not a whole lot of rock or jazz.
>Past gear and your thoughts on them
ive had moondrop starfields which i liked but they felt too heavy since theyre all metal and after a certain amount of time the sound dampened (apparently because of moisture? which is also connected to the metal housing) so i dont use them anymore. desu since then ive been using airpods pro 2 for comfort reasons but i want to have wired iems again

I do have good IEMs.
>>
>>
>>
I listen to music based on the feeling and texture of the music or even how the music subjectively "tastes" to me. for example, I like a lot of music by snails house because "his music sounds how sour tastes" the noise is an adhd filled noise scape a lot of the time and this extends to a lot of Vocaloid music I listen to and the jazz I like. This is to say that a lot of music I listen to has lots of noise like a lot of noise that mixes together and you can't actually tell one thing apart from another. why is this important to tell you this is because this IEM makes that chaos sound so clean and beautiful that I cannot explain to you the emotion I felt when I heard a song that had been missing its nuance or in other words detail for the first time.
these IEMs made me cry like literally cry because for once in my life I felt like I could hear the whole song. the vast majority of my library of music is extremely cheerful but there are others that are not when I listened to the album "Unhappy refrain" by wowaka on these I literally cried I could feel the deep emotions he must have had in mind when he made something so messy and disorienting. it's something personal when the music touches you and really connects with you with something that you really understand firsthand and when I listened to it again I reconnected with the album again immediately I instantly got taken back to when I first was exposed to his music when I was in a deep depression using the Audio Technica m50, not to get too personal and not to just pour out my heart in a random online review. basically, the Stellaris brought me so much closer to some of the music I listen to. would it have happened without the Stellaris I don't know should I have gotten the variations instead of buying 2 iems I will never know but I certainly understand detail now.
I honestly find it difficult to articulate how that's something that's so strange sounding that these IEM's are for sure not the best audio equipment I hav

I cannot be the only one whose ear canals become really itchy when wearing IEMs. I clean them properly with a kit and all, but they still get itchy, how the fuck do you fix this? It isn't to the point where they're unusable, they just get itchy frequently, forcing me to scratch it or rub the tip against it hoping it stops itching

At the recommendation of another anon, I purchased some GK Kunten IEMs from 'GK Earphone Store' on AliExpress. I selected the 'No Mic' option. However, they've arrived with no cable. Has anyone else had this happen? As is typical for AliExpress, they want me to return the whole item for a refund and the seller is seemingly unwilling to just send the missing cable. Should I return the item or simply purchase a third-party cable? If so, which one?

>I think they take EQ better than a single DD.
DDs and planars eq differently.
and whether or not planars EQ "better" is completely subjective and dependant on what you're trying to accomplish in particular.
best example is taming bass bloat: taming 100-300Hz on a DD vs a planar yields different results.

The whole point of a planar is a planar wavefront hitting your ears to mimic speakers' interaction with the outer ear part of your HRTF. There is literally zero point to IEM planars since they do not interact with your ear anatomy in any way. They're also too small to really have a planar wavefront. In every sense IEM planars are just flat DDs but worse in every single way.
>>
File: 1763742589175018.png (366.1 KB)
366.1 KB PNG
>but how are planars worse
Planar IEMs universally have inferior quality control and channel matching compared to even cheap DDs. They have higher distortion and tend to have high amplitude high Q upper treble peaks, a more extreme version of the classic 10-11K DD treble peak. This is responsible for "planar zing" and why some anons say planars make you deaf.

Are there cheap wireless earbuds with an acceptable sound? I'm not asking for premium sound, I just want all frequencies to be there, and quite flat response if possible, I mean no fatass bass or overly aggressive high.
I bought picrel because the comments on aliexpress were all like "they sound really great" etc, but it's unbelievable how bad the sound is... Mid are there but sound as if there was a compressor applied. Low and high frequencies are not lacking, they are just totally cut out, so much that I really thought they were defective or there was some hidden setting somewhere.

Thoughts on se846s with white filters? Are they bad now (or always was?). I now enjoy my SHS9500s but I don't know about se846s. I got those like 10 years ago but I don't daily drive them, airpods pro 3 is easier to setup.

May got replaced by Rays. If you want something different state what you dislike about them.

BAs are terrible for bass, any modern pos will be better.

Wait until you learn price is inverse to amp and DAC quality too.

I've been using KZ-ZSN Pro roughly (with 24/7 use most of the time as well) for about 3 years now. It finally broke today, so I'm looking for alternatives. I'm a retard, so I'll likely use it the same (rough and 24/7). I don't really care that much for sound quality as long as I don't hear outside noise, so, what are cheap that'll last long even in rough 24/7 use?
