On Sunday I'm finally going to shoot my .45 Super reloads. I have a 24# spring in this and the chamber for the 6" barrel is fully supported. I'll post results later.
I'm so excited!!!

Yeah, pretty much all hk hate comes from lack of affordability for the masses.
>inb4 buh muh *blank* is almost as good and it’s cheaper
Stop being poor, if you could you would buy the HK.

>comparing the ultimate poorfag entry gun to the latest HK
>"That's a reach in such a competitive market."
They're not even remotely in the same market lol. Nobody considering a VP9CC would ever consider an ARX. The only people interested in the ARX are people whose limited budget is the sole deciding factor in buying a gun.

That's a given, I wouldn't shoot a .44 without rubber grips that enclose the backstrap.
>>65059165
>Large heavy revolver has less recoil than small light revolver
The .44 I'm most interested in is the Colt Anaconda (since I already like my Python and shoot it a lot). I like the 6" version which seems pretty big and heavy, but idk if that's enough to make .44 magnum manageable for someone with small wrists. They do also make them in .45 Colt nowadays, so I will think about that

Plus aggressive shilling, Glock and S&W gave big discounts to law enforcement.
>>

>They're not even remotely in the same market lol.
They're subcompact doody 9mms. The HK has 10 and 12 round mags. I don't know if it's compatible with other VP9 mags. The Beretta has 13 round flush-fits but can use 15, 17, or 21-rounders if the owner wants.
They're about the same size, probably equally reliable and have rails for a light.
Now please, without accusations of being poor, tell me what HK gets me.
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>65059281
>It not, nor is it compatible with Cc9 mags
The lack of full-size VP9 mag compatibility is a shame, sounds like they sacrificed that when shaving down from the VP9SK. It's neat that all of HK's SK models could share mags with each other and their regular-sized siblings, but I suppose micro 9s are a compromise on everything in the name of size. Although I do wonder if most micro 9 users would be better off with a micro 380 instead since every normalfag seems to complain about shootabilty when you make a 9mm pistol that small and light.

Hey /hg/ people. I'm saving up for my first pistol and I've narrowed it down between two choices: Ruger RXM and Grand Power Q1. Which do you think I should go for?
>>
>>
>>
>>65059300
I’m considering it but have been considering just selling it for something optics ready. Does yours have a plate or how low does it sit?
>>65059331
Optics are better. Hardly a reason exists not to cut a slide for optics.
>>
File: IMG_8713.jpg (1.8 MB)
1.8 MB JPG
>>65059341
LTT’s cut puts the dot ~.85 above bore which is around most other guns. It’s lower than the Beretta OEM cut.
When they cut 92FS slides they can’t give you the front back up iron, there isn’t enough material in the slide for a dovetail. There are some sights you can pin onto the front sight to make it taller but I haven’t seen anyone do that with a LTT optic cut.
>>
The HK CC9 and now the VP9CC are just richfag cope. They hurt to shoot and are way too hard to be accurate with them. Nobody needs a micro 9mm. They can't even take full size VP9/P30 mags. Such a ripoff. Like Apple making proprietary cables for each new iPhone. And just like Applefags, HKfags just want to buy the latest and most expensive handguns so they can flaunt them at Starbucks and pretend they're rich. I really hate those guns. Any gun in the $200-$300 range will be just as good and reliable.

I’m sorry anon. There is always some fucking guy, some rat fucking bastard, who will appear at the last moment. That’s how I lost an auction for an infinity 2011. I tapped out at 4k and the fucking BASTARD relisted the gun at 6k like a week later, it never sold and he had to go back down to 4k for it to sell. I bet he’s the type to shill bid too on an alt.
Never buy from “Slide Bite Armory”, some Gunstore in Idaho.
>>
>>65059373
HK is like $200-$300 more than the competition, that Balenciaga bag is strictly a luxury item and it's $2,098 more than the competition.
Same shit with Hermes bags - $50k for a fucking handbag/satchel for a supple Italian leather bag assembled in China
>>
>>
>>
>>65059460
HK is still more expensive for literally no reason. Made in Germany by brown hands isn't any better than made in China with bug hands. Its the same as designer bullshit, just less ridiculous because gun people aren't quite as stupid as women, generally speaking.

Rear sight is built into the plate, the original rear iron dovetail is gone. The eps/RMSC plate has lower rear buis that the stock front height is usable but your poi will be off vertically. Buis

Nothing AFAIK, people just like to hate on SA because a lobbyist that rep'd them decided to throw his weight behind a gun control bill in IL. They fired the lobbyist but the damage was done.
Also people hate on the idea they rebranded the HS2000 causing it to 2x in price literally over 20 years ago
>good ergos
>good, if not aesthetically boring, grip texture
>serialized FCG
>great optics mounting system
>comes in Glock 17 and 19 sizes
>nice aesthetics
So the other anon says they don't have an anti-tilt follower which seems really weird to not have in this day and age, wonder what the deal is there...
Personally I like it, I just wish they had something akin to a Glock 19 size with a 3.5"ish barrel, that's my sweet spot

Gotcha, thanks. I may look into a pinned front at that point. I’ll have to see if they can match the rear or install a provided rear on the plate. This is kind of a silly exercise for a 92fs, but if they’re going to refinish the slide might as well.
>>
>>65059561
The rear sight is built into the plate, they cannot change it. The DPP plate has no rear. They also won’t pin the front sight for you, LPA is the people who make the front sights to pin on for an adjustable rear. The pin on front sight should be the same height since it’s based off the suppressor height adjustable rear that LPA also sells for the M9A3/Vertec.
Honestly, you don’t need BUIS. They’re good to have, but I’ve done drills where my dot ran out of battery or the brightness was set too low to see the dot, and I shot fine without it. Granted that was a single target and I was indexed on it, but people always meme that you don’t need to aim at self defense distances which is kind of true. If your battery dies, the optic window becomes a gigantic rear sight you just need to put onto the silhouette and you should hit it.

>$1,000 is a lot

>>
>>65059591
Yknow if lpa is still making that one? I also see the mepro, which is “okay” but not crazy over night sights. I agree on whether or not you actually need irons, but I do like having them. At least on my Glock, it’s a nice index point when it’s particularly bright out and the dot washes out.

I had bought that 1911 the other day, it was 1800 and very underpriced. Every thing is stock as it was in 1918 except the Colt Target sights added to it. Only 125 people got to see the listing, I was within the first 25 and kept going back and forth. A guy at my LGS just got a WW2 bring back Remington Rand 1911 that’s all numbers matching that has been in his family for 70 years as his great grandfather or something bought it from a GI. That put me over the edge
I’m probably going to sell some other guns I don’t care for, unfortunately that includes my Beretta 92s. I just straight up don’t shoot them and shoot my PX4 or 2011s instead.

But what percentage of the polymer striker market is M&P? I've routinely seen people claiming that Smith is making huge inroads in this market, but I've never seen anyone actually provide data to that effect. If I had to guess, I'd bet Sig and Ruger both are bigger players in the polymer striker sphere than Smith.

I didn't mean to shit on it - I'm actually very interested in .44 special, part of why I want a .44 magnum revolver is so that I can shoot the specials too. I just also want to shoot magnums... if I can handle them

That should arrive soon but I'm putting all my .45 Super loads so far through my LWA first before venturing to my USP and M&P

One anon had I think the E series, no issues. Another had the Pro series 3 inch, I’ve seen 9mm and .45 ones on the board, no issues. From what I heard they’re good.
Issues:
>non standard 1911 sight cut
It uses the S&W cut from the 3rd gen DA/SAs IIRC
>proprietary firing pin block and extractor set up
Firing pin block is grip safety actuated, not trigger unlike the Colt 80 series so the trigger pull is not affected. External extractor is good, just not a standard 1911 part so purists hate it

My opinion with .40 S&W is that it is a caliber that desperately needs more guns solely designed for it, it has too many "ports" in that lots of .40 guns are just 9mm guns converted to .40 and thats why a lot of people struggle with the damn caliber since 9mm is a hell of a lot softer than 40 and the guns were not designed for that in mind.
The USP however, was made for .40 first.
I have a M&P40 and I'll admit that I do not like shooting it because the M&P was not made for .40 S&W from the ground up and it shows.

I'm no beretta fanboy like half of this thread seems to be, but I'll comfortably say that a 92FS is better in every single way than a P85/89. If you ever actually handled or shot P85s, as I did in my brokefag days, you'll figure out why. It's an appliance gun from 40 years ago, cast construction so it's bulky and chunky, like a dumpster. I've never heard anything bad about their reliability but plenty of guns that have better triggers, ergonomics, concealability, etc are reliable.

Tokarev anaon here. As a side question. If i used medium strength locktite red to hold the rear sight in place, would a solder iron to move the sight into zero damage the gun. I need roughly 400F to move the locktite. The irons are off but I still can aim it to 25yds reliably but it isn't aligned.

I gotta be honest shitbin, I don’t see how 5 shots in 20 seconds translates to anything practical, what you’re doing should be already trained in through dry fire. You aren’t shooting that rate at that distance in self defense, competition, or any other practical use for a pistol. It’s kinda just dick stroking with waste of ammunition as a by-product. I’m not putting rounds through my firearm without a point, I go to the range explicitly to train with a plan for the session in mind. Watch Ben explaining what you should be doing with your dry fire.

You're going to slow and doing a disservice yourself. Stoeger literally cautions against this as you're not actually developing and just staying in your comfort zone. Even for his most basic learning drill to train trigger control at speed, waiting that long between shots is far, FAR above his recommended par time.

Pastebin is from arg and operates their pastebin, not ours. Ours is from some oldfag and isn’t current (I haven’t read it). He spams the furry OP threads.
When he first came here we called him glocktroon since we didn’t know he was from arg. he was super annoying, spammed the thread, and avatarfagging with his stock Glock 17. He basically attacked anyone better at shooting than him, shit on red dots, shit on any actual advice, he receives well deserved hate. He was trying to turn hg into arg and even got people to raid it with him. He wasn’t the only one, there’s ppanon (his gay faggot ebf), weedengineer, but he’s kind of the worst since he hides behind “wall posts” where he replies to multiple posters at once with low quality replies so he can’t be banned for off topic/trolling. Right now his new thing is performative shooting, look! He’s improving!!! He can hit a dollar bill in slowfire at 7 yards!!!
I was thinking of making a new “pastebin” that’s clips from Ben Stoeger, Joel Park, and some other top tier trainers but honestly just telling people to go watch Ben’s 2200 videos on YouTube will work. The algorithm will start feeding you random clips that give you breakthrough advice, every once in a while there is a sentence that will make everything make sense.

Trigger Control at Speed. Even for just getting a good sight alignment out of a draw and making a clean shot, Stoeger's goal par time for his students is 1.2 seconds. Now, caveat is that in this book at least Stoeger also expects his students to be able to set their own par times relevant to their own skill level, but he also states that a proper par time
>doesn't mean that you hit it 100 percent of the time. It doesn't work that way. If you make a mistake, you will either not make the par time, "fire" a poor shot, or both. Remember this, if you make the par time every repetition without fail, then you are laying back too much and you need to kick it up a notch. (pg. 9)

Well whomever was helping me my first day then. The range safety officers thought I was bullshitting about it being my first time with a handgun (I’m not even that good so I imagine the bar is low). Stoeger genuinely is a cheat code if you actually listen and apply what he says. Just need to find a place that will let me shoot faster, I’m capped at 1ish shots per second but I push it. The rso’s seem to not care too much but I don’t believe I could get away with a bill drill.

Beretta 92FS is a good choice, the 92FS is classic as it was in the 80s. But two parts will modernize the trigger to the 2020s easily, the LTT trigger bar gives it a short reset and optimizes the DA pull and a lighter hammer spring. The stock hammer spring is either 16 pounds or 20 pounds, meant for popping the hardest European primers in the 80s. These days a 13-14 pound hammer spring will work. You might want to swap to a skeletonized hammer for higher velocity to get more punch on a primer too, with those people are able to get to a 12 pound hammer spring.
13-14 pound hammer spring and a LTT bar translates to around 6-6.5 pound DA pull. A full trigger job will get it below 6 to even 5.5. I had a crazy light pull in one of my LTT’d PX4s, the DA pull was 4.5 pounds.

The trigger bar is the mechanical upgrade of the kit, the hammer spring does most of the work lowering the trigger pull weight, the rest of the kit is diminishing returns. But as a singular upgrade it’s the biggest.
I kind of try to tell people not to get the 92FS since you can’t change the sights to something nice like a fiber optic front and blacked out rear. You could just paint them, the snowman style of sights of the M9 have kind of grown on me where you align white with white vertically for “combat” or target focus shooting. You could just watch eBay or gunbroker for a vertec or 92X slide to pop up for cheap.

Lighter hammer does nothing to trigger pull by itself, the lighter mass hammer hits primers harder due to a higher velocity. Therefore you can run lighter hammer springs which will reduce trigger pull weight.
The Match hammer has a different profile and reduces the take up of SA putting it right at the reset point and slightly reduces pull weight of SA. To use a match hammer you must have a short reset trigger bar like the LTT or the 92X Performance bar (Xtreme S).

92X RDO come with upgraded trigger groups that are almost as good as LTT stuff (they licensed the design from LTT).
92Xi, 92GTS, the frame lever, SAO or Decocker, come with better sights for some reason. Blacked out rear with fiber front, the 92X RDO is a orange painted front.
The vertec grip has a straight backstrap and then you can get wrap around grips to mimic the other older backstrap style. Really the vertec grip is better since if you get a wrap around you can get way more texture on the backstrap than the older style.
